Kalea (Larry W. Jones 11/18/2002) (song#601)
There’s a fishing port down Maui way
Lahaina is a place of renown
Sailors drop their anchors in the bay
For whiskey in the town

Kalea is an island girl in old Lahaina town
She serves the whiskey that the sailors swallow down
She listens as they waste each other’s time
Kalea sings them songs like Maui chimes

The sailors ask Kalea if she has the time
To settle down and marry while she’s in her prime
Lahaina town is lonely as she’s looking out to sea
But Kalea’s eyes look only for the sailor meant to be

Kalea wears in her hair a yellow ginger lei
Her sailor promised he’d return to Lahaina town some day
The yellow ginger lei is for her beloved
For the sailor man that Kalea dearly loves

He sailed into the bay one tropic day
He told her of the places far away
He said he had to sail to other climes
He didn’t know her heart would sing like Maui chimes

As he left he told Kalea not to cry
He told Kalea that one day she would have the time
To settle down and marry while she’s in her prime
He didn’t know her heart would break like Maui chimes

Kalea serves the whiskey that the sailors swallow down
She listenes as they waste each other’s time
Kalea is a lonely girl in old Lahaina town
Kalea sings them songs like Maui chimes
Kalea is a lonely girl in old Lahaina town

Find An Island (Larry W. Jones 11/18/2002) (song#602

When the fast pace of life makes you crawl
If you just listen you will hear them call
There in oceans wide waiting to be found
Are islands that won’t let you down

Find an island in deep blue waters
You don’t need to frown
Find an island in deep blue waters
Lay your troubles down

When you’re out of steam or so it seems
An island waits somewhere in the stream
When the day seems like an awesome night
An island turns the darkness into light

Find an island in deep blue waters
You don’t need to frown
Find an island in deep blue waters
Lay your troubles down

Sail away on silver wings
Find your island in the stream
And when you find that island in the blue
My dreams and I will follow too

Find an island in deep blue waters
You don’t need to frown
Find an island in deep blue waters
Lay your troubles down

Sail away on silver wings
Find your island in the stream
And when you find that island in the blue
My dreams and I will follow too

Hawaiian Cowboy Dreaming (Larry W. Jones 11/18/2002) (song#603)

All the cattle are lowing, and the branding is done
I saddle up old paint, and head for the barn
You can’t get the cowboy out of me
But I would rather be
A cowboy over in Hawaii

Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Of islands far away
Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Where ukuleles play

I took the saddle off old paint, and hung it on the rail
Dreamed of islands far and quaint, and hung my spurs back on the nail
You can’t get the cowboy out of me
But I would rather be
A cowboy over in Hawaii

Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Of islands far away
Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Where ukuleles play

All the cattle are lowing, and the branding is done
I saddle up old paint, and head for the barn
You can’t get the cowboy out of me
But I would rather be
A cowboy over in Hawaii

Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Hawaiian cowboy dreaming
Hawaiian cowboy dreaming

Oh My Leilani (Larry W. Jones 11/18/2002) (song#604)

The moon came out to see what the scene was about
The man in the moon saw the gleam in your eyes
That’s when I heard your wonderful sighs
I love to be your island guy

Oh, my Leilani
You make my heart sunny
You make me feel funny
I’m in love with you

Oh, my Leilani
I love you more than money
Your lips are the same as honey
I’m in love with you

The stars in the sky came out to see the lights
They wonder just how I found such delights
Now they know why it is I sigh
I love to be your island guy

Oh, my Leilani
You make my heart sunny
You make me feel funny
I’m in love with you

Oh, my Leilani
I love you more than money
Your lips are the same as honey
I’m in love with you

The Girl From Paradise (Larry W. Jones 11/18/2002) (song#605)

I saw birds flying very near
I wondered why they were here
Then I saw you and I knew the reason why
They were birds of paradise

I saw stars come out to play
I wondered what they had to say
They said you had stars in your eyes
They were stars of paradise

On this very night when you appeared
The moon and stars all together cheered
I heard the tradewinds whisper low
She’s the one with the afterglow
She’s the one so very nice
She’s the girl from paradise

That’s why all the island guys from isles around
Follow you to old Lahaina town
They think you’re so very nice
Here in paradise

On this very night when you appeared
The moon and stars all together cheered
I heard the tradewinds whisper low
She’s the one with the afterglow
She’s the one so very nice
She’s the girl from paradise

That’s why all the island guys from isles around
Follow you to old Lahaina town
They think you’re so very nice
Here in paradise

Silver Wings To Paradise (Larry W. Jones 11/17/2002) (song #606)

I’m flying on silver wings to paradise
Honolulu is just ahead in deep blue skies
I’m going where hula girls and palm trees sway
To the island of Aloha where rainbows play

Lydialani is the one I’m going to see
She’s the beauty sitting right here next to me
The flight is number one all the way
We’re going to where the steel guitars play

The tropic moon is full and heavenly
We will share our love so tenderly
The stars and meteors are all on display
Maybe in paradise is where we will stay

I’m flying on silver wings to paradise
Lydialani is the one I’m going to see
She’s the beauty sitting right here next to me
She’s the one who fits me to a tee
Lydialani is my heavenly wife you see

Paradise Island Moon (Larry W. Jones 11/24/2002) (song#607)

Paradise island moon, so warm and bright
Paradise island moon, romance tonight
Shine for me your golden beams
Lead me to my golden dreams
Paradise island moon

The stars tonight are bright above
And you, the moon, know who I’m dreaming of
You know the magic of your tropic tune
This night of nights, this island night in June
Paradise island moon

Shine your golden beams from heaven, this night so fair
Bring my golden dreams of love beyond compare

Paradise island moon, so warm and bright
Paradise island moon, romance tonight
Shine for me your golden beams
Lead me to my golden dreams
Paradise island moon

Bring my love to me tonight, paradise island moon

A Lei, A Kiss, And You (Larry W. Jones 11/27/2002) (song#608)

A flower lei, a kiss away, and you
A souvenier, a memory dear, so true
Those years of gold of cheer untold, so new
Just like the day I first fell in love with you

It was at that moonlit island dance
It was just a fleetful passing glance
But it beacme a fragrant lei of sweet romance
In Hawaii where dreams come true

A yellow ginger lei, a very special day
When we kissed the ukuleles played
Love was in the breeze of tropic skies
A flower lei, a kiss away in paradise

It was just a yellow ginger lei, a romantic kiss away, and you
A dream was waiting there for us to come true

A flower lei, a kiss away, and you
A souvenier, a memory dear, so true
Those years of gold of cheer untold, so new
Just like the day I first fell in love with you

That Vermillion Moon (Larry W. Jones 11/27/2002) (song#609)

One moon means a million words of love
One moon sings a million tunes of lullabyes
One moon over Hawaii makes a million hearts swoon
And soon you and I will be under that vermillion moon

One garden filled with flowers from paradise
One night to see the stars reflected in your eyes
One moon to spread beams of love in June
And soon you and I will be under that vermillion moon

One flower blossom to place in your silky hair
One flower lei to grace your loveliness there
One love to share between two hearts in June
And soon you and I will be under that vermillion moon

That one vermillion moon has a million words of love to say
And I can say that I love you a million ways

One moon means a million words of love
One moon sings a million tunes of lullabyes
One moon over Hawaii makes a million hearts swoon
And soon you and I will be under that vermillion moon

Sunny Polynesian Paradise (Larry W. Jones 11/27/2002) (song#610)

I can hear the shorebirds sweetly singing
These are the songs of isles in deep blue seas
Coral gems of islands under deep blue tropic skies
Islands of the sunny polynesian paradise

The sun shines rays of gold upon the clouds
Rainbows of love delight the island crowds
Palm trees sway to tradewinds blowing light
They whisper island songs of love at night

The wind and waves and palms are softly calling
Return to me is what I hear them saying
My heart toward islands is strongly swaying
Hawaii is my lovely island home across the sea

Sunny days are there and that is why I must return
For Hawaii does my heart so deeply yearn

I can hear the shorebirds sweetly singing
These are the songs of isles in deep blue seas
Coral gems of islands under deep blue tropic skies
Islands of the sunny polynesian paradise

In Old Polynesia (Larry W. Jones 11/28/2002) (song#611)

There’s a song from old polynesia
That’s forever reminding me
Of island stories ever told
Of dreams that won’t grow old
In old polynesia

Flower petals send sweet fragrance in the air
It’s the fragrance of old polynesia
Rainbows painted by the tropic sun are there
The color of paradise is beyond compare
In old polynesia

The moon is always bright and the nights are a delight
It’s always right in old polynesia

There you can hear a hula tune
Stroll underneath the tropic moon
And underneath the polynesian stars
Are symphonies of steel guitars
In old polynesia

How softly there the tradewinds blow
And palm trees swaying to and fro
I will go again to where my heart belongs
To where my heart can sing the songs
In old polynesia

The moon is always bright and the nights are a delight
It’s always right in old polynesia

Mahalo Nui Loa (Larry W. Jones 11/29/2002) (song#612)

Mahalo nui loa means I thank you very much
Mahalo nui loa has a polynesian island touch
It’s a phrase that has a meaning just for you
I thank you very much for your love so true

Mahalo nui loa means I thank you very much
Mahalo nui loa says you helped me out and such
They are words for friends and friendly strangers too
Mahalo nui loa can mean a lot for me and you

A kamaaina in Hawaii or haole in the islands too
Can make your day when they say out of the blue
Mahalo nui loa and thanks a million too
Mahalo nui loa ranks right with Aloha true

There’s no better way to say thank you very much
Mahalo nui loa has a polynesian island touch
Say Aloha when you greet someone in Hawaii blue
And don’t forget to say mahalo nui loa too
It’s a phrase that has a meaning just for you
I thank you very much for your love so true

My One Desire (Larry W. Jones 11/30/2002) (song#613)

You alone are my one desire
You are the only one my heart requires
There is something about you that’s so very true
My heart would cry without it’s love from you

Underneath a tropic island sky
I look and I see the sparkle in your eyes
In the cool of the night you set my heart afire
You alone are my one desire

When I hold you oh so tight
Whether in the day or in the tropic night
You alone are my one delight
I love you oh so true

Underneath a tropic island sky
I look and I see the sparkle in your eyes
In the cool of the night you set my heart afire
You alone are my one desire

My Polynesian Star (Larry W. Jones 11/30/2002) (song#614)

It’s the color of you long black hair
Lovely polynesian flair, you know
It’s the cool sunny sundress that you wear
The things that give you that island glow

It’s all the many things you are, dear
I don’t have to wish upon a star
I just thank the heavens when you’re near
For you are my polynesian star

The way you close your eyes to kiss goodnight
The way you smile like a lovely island girl
All that you do, you always do just right
No wonder why you set my heart awhirl

I like your polynesian flair and the flower in your hair
And I love the love we share

It’s all the many things you are, dear
I don’t have to wish upon a star
I just thank the heavens when you’re near
For you are my polynesian star

Since Your Love (Larry W. Jones 11/30/2002) (song#615)

The night my love uttered words that meant goodbye
The tropic moon turned from gold to blue up in the sky
Empty were the dreams of paradise that she left with me
And my nights were lonely until daylight came to be

But, there was someone in this big wide world who cared
Someone who would be the answer to my prayer
You came into my life like dreams upon the sea
My nights aren’t lonely since your love has shined on me

Now I see again the rainbows shining on the islands bright
Now there’s no tears upon my pillow in a lonely night
The darkest hours are filled with love and light, you see
My nights aren’t lonely since your love has shined on me

Now I see again the rainbows shining on the islands bright
Now there’s no tears upon my pillow in a lonely night
The darkest hours are filled with love and light, you see
My nights aren’t lonely since your love has shined on me
My nights aren’t lonely since your love has shined on me

Come Into My Arms (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#616)

Come into my arms my island dove
Let me hold you close, so tenderly
The islands sweetly sing our song of love
Let our hearts together melt in ecstasy

The lei in your hair has cast it’s magic spell
How lovely is it’s sweet and fragrant smell
When you’re here with me I’m in heaven’s bliss
As I hold you close and warmly feel your kiss

The ocean swells at Na Pali cliffs are strong
As emotion tells of love like island songs
Just as surely as the waves caress the shore
Oh love of mine, I can only love you more

Come into my arms and let me hold you close to me
Our hearts will melt like ocean foam in ecstasy

Now my story has been told of love for you
Let it be just like the sea and flow forever true
Let me hold you close, my love, so tenderly
Our hearts will melt like ocean foam in ecstasy

Polynesian Girl (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#617)

There’s a polynesian girl in my tropic island home
Her name is sweet Leilani and her face is heaven’s own
I went to visit with her just the other day
Her home is on the leeward side by the deep blue bay

Her hair is long and black and it’s also smooth as silk
She says she bathes in the waterfall and uses coco milk
Sweet Leilani is her name and I’ve got her on my brain
I think this polynesian girl is gonna drive my heart insane

Diamonds sparkle in her eyes and her teeth are island pearls
Sweet Leilani is the envy of the other island girls
I asked her out to dinner and she said she wanted fish and poi
What a treat and oh so sweet she is to this happy island boy

She dances to the hula and her hips know how to swing
She romances in the moonlight when the moon begins to beam
She’s my sweet Leilani and I know I love her so
She said she would marry me and I will be her island beau
She’s my sweet Leilani and I know I love her so
She said she would marry me and I will be her island beau

Lehua Honey (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#618)

I’ve got a pretty island girl named Leilani
She’s as sweet as a jar of Lehua honey
When you see her with her hula skirt on
She looks like she came from a beauty salon

Well I love my girl and Leilani loves me
She’s the beauty of islands in the deep blue sea
She makes me happy and I’m feelin’ grand
We’re gonna get married on the island sand

I told her father and her mother too
My love for Leilani was good and true
We plan to get married in the first of June
Under leis of flowers and the yellow moon

Well I love my girl and Leilani loves me
She’s the beauty of islands in the deep blue sea
She makes me happy and I’m feelin’ grand
We’re gonna raise our kids on the island sand

I’ve got a pretty island girl named Leilani
She’s as sweet as a jar of Lehua honey
When you see her with her hula skirt on
She looks like she came from a beauty salon

Well I love my girl and Leilani loves me
She’s the beauty of islands in the deep blue sea
She makes me happy and I’m feelin’ grand
We’re gonna raise our kids on the island sand

Pretty Little Island Girl (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#619)

Pretty little island girl
You put my heart all in a whirl
I love you truly, love you deep
Your love always will I keep

I have loved you from afar
For you I wished upon a star
To have your love is like a pearl
Pretty little island girl

You and I could live together
Our love would last forever
In my heart I feel you there
Love is in the island air

Would you come and be my bride
My love for you I cannot hide
Together you and I in skies of blue
Would make all my dreams come true
Pretty little island girl

Love Will Flow Forever (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#620)

You’re my island girl and every breath I take
Is only for you like the dreams you make
When I see the stars under tropic skies
They’re the same I see there in your eyes

Palm trees climb toward the sun above
Like the warmth of the sun is your sweet love
When we stroll together hand in hand
My feet tingle with love in the island sand

You’re my island girl and you feel just right
When you in my arms in the day or night
I know our love will never cease to be
Our love will flow forever like the deep blue sea

You’re my island girl and every breath I take
Is only for you like the dreams you make
When we stroll together hand in hand
My feet tingle with love in the island sand

You’re my island girl and you feel just right
When you in my arms in the day or night
I know our love will never cease to be
Our love will flow forever like the deep blue sea
I know our love will never cease to be
Our love will flow forever like the deep blue sea

Spam And Eggs (Larry W. Jones 12/01/2002) (song#621)

Spam is a traditional Hawaiian dish
Spam just tastes better than poi and fish
Eggs and spam is the best way to start your day
Give me eggs and spam is what Hawaiians say

Spam spelled backwards is Maps, you see
Sailors took their charts and their spam to sea
And where do you think they planned to be
But here with their maps and spam in Hawaii

Hormel is to blame for putting ham in spam
It ain’t the same substituting spam for jam
Instead of eatin’ kalua pig from a luau pit
Hawaiians’ ham is in the spam, every bit of it

Spam and rice is a traditional Hawaiian mix
No wonder the scales think it’s weighing bricks
Spam makes Hawaiian eyes seem to be transfixed
And Chinese like to eat it with their little sticks

Spam is a traditional Hawaiian dish
Spam just tastes better than poi and fish
Eggs and spam is the best way to start your day
Give me eggs and spam is what Hawaiians say
Eggs and spam is the best way to start your day
Give me eggs and spam is what Hawaiians say

Waimanalo Baby Lullaby (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#622)

Waimanalo baby go to sleep now
Waimanalo baby close your pretty eyes
The yellow moon is going to peep now
At Waimanalo baby from the skies

The stars are starting to shine
Waimanalo moon is looking fine
Waimanalo baby it’s time to sleep
And dreams Waimanalo baby keep

Sing to sleep Waimanalo baby lullaby

Waimanalo baby go to sleep now
Waimanalo baby close your pretty eyes
The yellow moon is going to peep now
At Waimanalo baby from the skies

Sing to sleep Waimanalo baby lullaby

Going Home (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#623)

Don’t know where the world is going
But I know I’m going home
Mama told me if I roam to not forget my island home
Don’t know where the world is going
But I know I’m going home

I can feel the road is getting rocky
Now I don’t feel so free and cocky
I’ve been working lonely from the dusk until the dawn
Don’t know where the world is going
But I know I’m going home

Back to my roots I’m going where the tradewinds there blow free
Back to where ohana is, my island and the sea

I’ve decided I just can’t carry on
Working only for the dollar and a bone
Mama told me if I roam to not forget my island home
Don’t know where the world is going
But I know I’m going home

I can feel the road is getting rocky
Now I don’t feel so free and cocky
I’ve been working lonely from the dusk until the dawn
Don’t know where the world is going
But I know I’m going home

Back to my roots I’m going where the tradewinds there blow free
Back to where ohana is, my island and the sea

Light Of The Tropic Moon (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#624)

In the light of the tropic moon
Night shadows play their winsome tune
When you think of things that may
It can sweep your heart away

Tradewinds whisper sighs of love
Stars shine their light from skies above
Lovers kiss as love they share
Sweet is the bliss that’s everywhere

In the light of the tropic moon
Words of love down by the bay
The time is right and opportune
To just let your heart hold sway

The light of the tropic moon is softly calling lovers everywhere
Just let your heart hold sway as your love you share

In the light of the tropic moon
Romance can never be denied
For love your heart will be attuned
As songs of love are drifting by

Sheltered Bay Love (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#625)

Soft is the touch of your hula hands
Like ebb tides caressing island sands
Like beams of love from the moon above
Soft is the touch of your love

Warm is the sun in tropic skies
Our love has none of this world’s lies
I’m sailing in a sheltered bay
Our love will never drift away

Starlight of truth shines in your eyes
Like sweet vermouth it make me high
High above where rainbows shine
Our love will glow like sweetest wine

The coolness of the tradewinds breeze
The magic of the tropic seas
The touch of your soft hula hands
Like ebb tides caressing island sands

Warm is the sun in tropic skies
Our love has none of this world’s lies
I’m sailing in a sheltered bay
Our love will never drift away

The Kindest Thing (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#626)

When I left Hawaii I was nothing in the sun
I knew everything I thought, except for one
The love I left behind on the island in the sea
Was the kindest thing that ever came to me

Now I’ve returned and I need to tell you true
Your love is like the sun that warms the day
And in the night the moonlight becons too
Like a lighthouse welcomes lost souls to the bay

It’s hard to answer why and words just can’t explain
But the way you look tonight is like a love refrain
I will never roam and never leave your love behind
The kindest thing is that you happened to be mine

Now I’ve returned and I need to tell you true
Your love is like the sun that warms the day
And in the night the moonlight becons too
Like a lighthouse welcomes lost souls to the bay

It’s hard to answer why and words just can’t explain
But the way you look tonight is like a love refrain
I will never roam and never leave your love behind
The kindest thing is that you happened to be mine

Rising Of The Moon (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#627)

The full moon is now arising
I know that love is on the way
Dreams are always surprising
They seem to come that way

Come on out tonight
There’s love under starfilled skies
Come on out tonight
There’s a full moon on the rise

Tradewinds softly do their calling
Songs of love are coming soon
I feel the hearts of lovers falling
With the rising of the moon

Come on out tonight
There’s love under starfilled skies
Come on out tonight
There’s a full moon on the rise

Dreams are made for tropic weather
Where love will be in bloom
Your heart and mine will be together
With the rising of the moon

Come on out tonight
There’s love under starfilled skies
Come on out tonight
There’s a full moon on the rise

Come on out tonight
There’s love under starfilled skies
Come on out tonight
There’s a full moon on the rise

Sugar Cane Sands Of Home (Larry W. Jones 12/02/2002) (song#628)

When I was just a little bitty island baby
My mama taught me to never say maybe
And I worked my hands down to the bone
In those island sands of sugar cane called home

It was down in the town of old Lahaina
In the sugar cane fields of Hawaiiana
I said maybe I could make it on my own
Instead of island sands of sugar cane called home

But I found out that ohana isn’t gotten
On the mainland where love’s forgotten
So I went back to Lahaina never more to roam
To those island sands of sugar cane called home

It was down in the town of old Lahaina
In the sugar cane fields of Hawaiiana
I said maybe I could make it on my own
Instead of island sands of sugar cane called home

When I was just a little bitty island baby
My mama taught me to never say maybe
And I worked my hands down to the bone
In those island sands of sugar cane called home

It was down in the town of old Lahaina
In the sugar cane fields of Hawaiiana
I said maybe I could make it on my own
Instead of island sands of sugar cane called home

But I found out that ohana isn’t gotten
On the mainland where love’s forgotten
So I went back to Lahaina never more to roam
To those island sands of sugar cane called home

Luau Time (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#629)

Over on the island, it’s almost luau time
Kalua pig is in the pit cooking up just fine
Kids are climbing coco palms waving at the moon
The band is tuning up to play some island tunes

Over on the island, down by the sea
It’s time to celebrate the luau
With songs of island harmony

Wahinis in their hula skirts are swaying to and fro
Island boys with smiles and flirts calling out for more
Mama’s got the dishes full of fish and rice and poi
Here comes my island girl to this happy island boy

Over on the island, down by the sea
It’s time to celebrate the luau
With songs of island harmony

Here you’ll see ohana as it was meant to be
Love is in the air and on the tradewind breeze
Over on the island, under that tropic moon
We’ll be eatin’ kalua pig , rice, fish and poi real soon

Over on the island, down by the sea
It’s time to celebrate the luau
With songs of island harmony

Over on the island, down by the sea
It’s time to celebrate the luau
With songs of island harmony

Back To Paradise (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#630)

I wanna go back to islands warmed by tradewind breeze
To where the beaches kiss the surf from deep blue seas
Stoppin’ over in LA just in time to catch my flight
To paradise where stars and love light up the tropic night

I can feel the tradewinds calling me to my island home
That cottage still becons me where the waves turn into foam
I wonder if the dolphins still play in the emerald bay
But I won’t have to wonder long because I’m gonna stay

Over on the north shore the waves are tall as trees
My cottage is on the leeward side waiting there for me
Mama said go see the world but don’t forget where you belong
Come back to paradise where your heart is, to your island home

I wanna go back to islands warmed by tradewind breeze
To where the beaches kiss the surf from deep blue seas
Stoppin’ over in LA just in time to catch my flight
To paradise where stars and love light up the tropic night

I can feel the tradewinds calling me to my island home
That cottage still becons me where the waves turn into foam
Mama said go see the world but don’t forget where you belong
Come back to paradise where your heart is, to your island home

Iniki (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#631)

There’s a calm then there’s a storm, someone told me so
I was on Kauai in ’92 when Iniki’s winds did blow
It will soon be over, so the weatherman said that day
But Iniki blew and blew and blew like she came to stay

Hurricane Iniki tore up the garden isle that day
Lord, she blew the ocean waves and overran the bays
Winds were on the mountain tops and sounded like a train
Then Iniki came ashore and it began to rain

Don’t bother with the hatches, the houses lay down flat
The birds of paradise all lost their plumes, imagine that
The waterfalls were gushing down the flooded river plains
I thought that I would never see the end to all the rains

But now it’s just a memory that’s still before my eyes
Kauai is still the garden isle in this tropic paradise
There’s a calm then there’s a storm, someone told me so
I hope Iniki doesn’t have a sister with her winds and woe

The waterfalls were gushing down the flooded river plains
I thought that I would never see the end to all the rains
But now it’s just a memory that’s still before my eyes
Kauai is still the garden isle in this tropic paradise
Iniki was a bad girl in paradise

Aloha Lani Lou (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#632)

Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart
My Lani Lou knows that I love her true
I’m always blue, Lani Lou, when we’re apart
Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart

In Hawaii one tropic day, hula hips began to sway
In Waikiki down by the shore
Guys from miles around, feet swept off solid ground
Lani Lou’s the girl that I adore

Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart
My Lani Lou knows that I love her true
I’m always blue, Lani Lou, when we’re apart
Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart

Your lips were like sweet wine that’s choice
My heart went swoon when I heard your voice
Say that you wanted to stroll down by the bay
So, hand in hand we share our love come what may

Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart
My Lani Lou knows that I love her true
I’m always blue, Lani Lou, when we’re apart
Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart
Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart
Aloha Lani Lou, Sayonara heart

My Island Is Harmony (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#633)

I wake up every morning when the birdies start to sing
My island home is paradise in the tropic scene
There’s love in ample measure, for a woman and a man
I can’t complain about my home here on this island sand

Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony
Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony

Here comes my Lydialani, her beauty is not just show
She makes my day so sunny, her love is deep I know
Rainbows over her shoulder, the sun has made her tan
She’s my only island love and I’m her island man

Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony
Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony

If you’re ever in Hawaii, and you came to see the sights
Dig your toes in island sand and lay back in the light
Nothing here is antisocial when ohana love you see
Just feel the local motion of paradise for you and me

Here comes my Lydialani, her beauty is not just show
She makes my day so sunny, her love is deep I know
Rainbows over her shoulder, the sun has made her tan
She’s my only island love and I’m her island man

Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony
Forget the mainland social, island light shine on me
Feel the local motion, my island is harmony

Tropic Moon Luau (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#634)

The moon is full in the tropic sky
Dancin’ at the luau in July
Gonna have some fun in the warm sand dune
Dancin’ in the light of the tropic moon

Tropic moon, beams of gold
Light of love on the tropic shore
Like love on a heart that’s in full bloom
Shine your light on me, tropic moon

Outriggers and woodies ’round the little grass shack
Play those guitars in a key that’s slack
In the moonlight I see my sweet Leilani
She’s got her everlovin’ eyes on me

Tropic moon, beams of gold
Light of love on the tropic shore
Like love on a heart that’s in full bloom
Shine your light on me, tropic moon

Slack key guitars and ukuleles play
Kiho’alu band sounds good down by the bay
My sweet Leilani wants to dance some more
In the warm beach sand on the tropic shore

Tropic moon, beams of gold
Light of love on the tropic shore
Like love on a heart that’s in full bloom
Shine your light on me, tropic moon

Tropic moon, beams of gold
Light of love on the tropic shore
Like love on a heart that’s in full bloom
Shine your light on me, tropic moon

Head Over Heels (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#635)

Here in the islands the music is sweet and low
And I’m holding the girl that I love so
Her love means the world to me I know
She sets my world and my heart aglow

My heart is head over heels in love with you
Start the steel guitars with tunes of love for two
You make my night and you make my day
Music of love sure is sweet down by the bay

Each night I thank the stars and watch the moon
Tradewinds whisper that love’s in bloom
Here in the islands the music is sweet and low
And I’m holding the girl that I love so

My heart is head over heels in love with you
Start the steel guitars with tunes of love for two
You make my night and you make my day
Music of love sure is sweet down by the bay

Each night I thank the stars and watch the moon
Tradewinds whisper that love’s in bloom
Here in the islands the music is sweet and low
And I’m holding the girl that I love so

Like A Rainbow Drawn (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#636)

The reason why I care is the love you’ve shown
Let’s make it last
The flower in your hair is mine to you alone
In your sweet love I bask

In the early dawn in this tropic zone
The light of love is unsurpassed
Our love will carry on like a rainbow drawn
In tropic skies that will ever last

Like a rainbow drawn in tropic skies, the light of love is in your eyes
Our love will forever last in this tropic paradise

The reason why I care is the love you’ve shown
Let’s make it last
The flower in your hair is mine to you alone
In your sweet love I bask

In the early dawn in this tropic zone
The light of love is unsurpassed
Our love will carry on like a rainbow drawn
In tropic skies that will ever last

Like a rainbow drawn in tropic skies, the light of love is in your eyes
Our love will forever last in this tropic paradise

Changing You Never (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#637)

Changing you is something I would never do
You’re the dream I dreamed that really has come true
You came from paradise right from the blue
Changing you is something I would never do

The seasons change but you’re the same dream that came true
The star I wished on
Brought my dream right from the blue
An angel’s face with Heaven’s grace
The love you’ve shown is true
Changing you is something I would never do

Your eyes of love, clear as a bell
Tells more than words could ever tell
The future is bright because it’s right
And I’ll be forever loving you

Changing you is something I would never do
You’re the dream I dreamed that really has come true
You came from paradise right from the blue
Changing you is something I would never do

The seasons change but you’re the same dream that came true
The star I wished on
Brought my dream right from the blue
An angel’s face with Heaven’s grace
The love you’ve shown is true
Changing your name to mine is the only thing I’ll ever do

Mainland Island Blues (12/03/2002) (song#638)

I’ve got the mainland island blues
Stuck on the mainland instead of island shoes
I count the days and all the ways to get back home
To my island ways where I won’t feel so alone

Time is money but the money’s gone too
My youth got lost somewhere in the blue
I can feel the holes in my life and shoes
I’ve got the mainland island blues

I left Honolulu on silver wings and dreams
To see the big wide world in horizons blue
Money and a name were in my schemes
I knew I could make my dreams come true

My dreams are somewhere out of sight
My shoes have holes and my money’s tight
It’s time to let go all those dreams that flew
I’ve got the mainland island blues

I tried to climb the ladder to success
But it really doesn’t matter after all I guess
I’m going back to my island where love is true
I’ve got the mainland island blues
I’m going back to my island where love is true
I’ve got the mainland island blues

Lahaina Town Girl (Larry W. Jones 12/03/2002) (song#639)

Tonight my heart is beating fast and my head spins around
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town
I don’t know her name but my heart is jumping up and down
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town

How can I hide her from my friends in Maui’s paradise
They might try to steal her heart and then mine would be down
I guess I’ll ask her for her name and tell my friends all lies
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town

I’ll have to find a secret place in Maui by the sea
Maybe she will tell me yes that she my love will be
I’ll ask her name and then the hand of the prettiest girl around
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town

Tonight my heart is beating fast and my head spins around
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town
I don’t know her name but my heart is jumping up and down
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town
Tonight my heart is beating fast and my head spins around
I just saw a girl and fell in love in old Lahaina town

Gabby Pahinui Tunes (Larry W. Jones 12/04/2002) (song#640)

Slack key guitars play music in the island way
Luau parties last ’til the dawn of day
Whether playin’ it fast or playin’ it slow
Gabby Pahinui was ready to go

Over in the Hawaii when the sun went down
Slack key pickers came from all around
Gabby Pahinui played kiho’alu tunes
You could dance all night under tropic moons

He played with the best like Sonny Chillingworth
Cyril and Bla and Atta Isaacs too
But the greatest of all was Gabby himself
His slack key style was kiho’alu

Over in the Hawaii when the sun went down
Slack key pickers came from all around
Gabby Pahinui played kiho’alu tunes
You could dance all night under tropic moons

The day Gabby died was a day of mourn
But slack key pickin’ had been reborn
Gabby Pahinui was the best because
The thunder was always the standing applause

Over in the Hawaii when the sun went down
Slack key pickers came from all around
Gabby Pahinui played kiho’alu tunes
You could dance all night under tropic moons
Gabby Pahinui played kiho’alu tunes
You could dance all night under tropic moons

Texas Ranger Blues (Larry W. Jones 12/04/2002) (song#641)

I may look like a Texas ranger
With my spurs and cowboy boots
But I wanna go where there’s no stranger
Over in Hawaii where dreams come true

Give me some skies of blue
There I can be a cowboy too
Give me a love that’s true
In Hawaii where dreams come true

I may look like a Texas ranger
Packin’ my old forty four
But I need a dream arranger
To get me to Hawaii’s shore

Give me some skies of blue
There I can be a cowboy too
Give me a love that’s true
In Hawaii where dreams come true

I may look like a Texas ranger
With my spurs and cowboy boots
But I wanna go where there’s no stranger
Over in Hawaii where dreams come true

Give me some skies of blue
There I can be a cowboy too
Give me a love that’s true
In Hawaii where dreams come true

Give me some skies of blue
There I can be a cowboy too
Give me a love that’s true
In Hawaii where dreams come true

Times Were Slower Then (Larry W. Jones 12/04/2002) (song#642)

Times were a whole lot slower then
Flying boats and ships came in
Hawaii calls was on the radio
The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki
Was the grandest place, the place to be
And I loved to dance with you real slow

Then came December nineteen forty one
War in paradise had just begun
You found another love I didn’t know
I’ve kept the flower lei you gave to me that day
Oh how I want to hold you near
Like I did when times were slow so long ago

I still read your letters end to end
I know that times were better then
When Hawaii calls was on the radio
Flying boats and ships came in
Times were a whole lot slower then
And I loved to dance with you real slow

I never will forget the day
When you gave to me your flower lei
You were the only one for me and me for you
I’m sorry that I stayed away
I lost your love to another face
And the dream I saw has vanished in the blue

Times were a whole lot slower then
Flying boats and ships came in
Hawaii calls was on the radio
The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki
Was the grandest place, the place to be
And I loved to dance with you real slow
Hawaii calls was on the radio
And I loved to dance with you real slow

Island Guitar Man (Larry W. Jones 12/04/2002) (song#643)

He stood there straight and tall with a guitar in his hand
The crowds he would enthrall like a star in island sand
Hula ladies hung on his arm and you could just see him smile
He had all the manly charms in this paradise tropic isle

But now he plays for lunch in a little island bar
Where is that bunch of fans when he was an island star
Give him a dollar and he will play forever it seems
There was a time when he was taller in his island dreams

There wasn’t room on the big dance floor in Hawaii blue
He used to pick slack key and play the ukulele too
To crowds of fans on the isles and the beach at Waikiki
Now he stands in the shadows of his lonely dreams

Would you stand behind a dream you find in island sand
Sometimes the dream it seems is taller than the man
I used to stand there staight and tall with a guitar in my hand
But now all I have left are all the dreams of an island guitar man

He stood there straight and tall with a guitar in his hand
The crowds he would enthrall like a star in island sand
Hula ladies hung on his arm and you could just see him smile
He had all the manly charms in this paradise tropic isle

Would you stand behind a dream you find in island sand
Sometimes the dream it seems is taller than the man
I used to stand there staight and tall with a guitar in my hand
But now all I have left are all the dreams of an island guitar man

A Love To Share (Larry W. Jones 12/05/2002) (song#644)

Polynesia bring to me
A girl I can love from Hawaii
A girl with polynesian eyes
Someone to fill my dreams tonight

Polynesia, isles of love so fair
Bring me a girl with flowers in her hair
Ask the moon to shine its lovelight too
And make the dreams I have come true

Polynesia, please be true
Bring me a love from Hawaii blue
A girl who’s sure to love me too
Bring me an island girl divine

Polynesia, isles of love so fair
In the tropic sun you bask
Please bring the dreams I ask

Polynesia please be true
Bring me a love from Hawaii blue
A girl who’s sure to love me too
Bring me an island girl divine

Polynesia, isles of love so fair
Bring me a love to share

Leilani Maui Chimes (Larry W. Jones 12/06/2002) (song#645)

Someday, I’ll find that girl who’s on my mind
Sweet Leilani, heavenly flower divine
Sweet as soft Maui chimes

I’ll go on, until rainbows begin to shine
I know that she will pass my way again
And I’ll hear those soft Maui chimes

She’ll feel waves of love that I have
I’ll never give her a reason to frown
True love to her I will give
Sweet Leilani will wear a wedding gown

I know, someday I’ll find that girl on my mind
I’ll give her this true love of mine
And we will hear those soft Maui chimes

She’ll feel waves of love that I have
I’ll never give her a reason to frown
True love to her I will give
Sweet Leilani will wear a wedding gown
True love to her I will give
Sweet Leilani will wear a wedding gown

Sailin’ To Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#646)

Today I’m sailin’ to Hawaii
I’m sailin’ to Hawaii
I’m not gonna need my shoes
I’m not gonna have these blues
Cause I’m sailin’ to Hawaii

I’m gonna hear an island guitar band
I’m gonna plant my feet in island sand
I’m sailin’ home today
In Hawaii is where I’ll stay
I’m sailin’ to Hawaii

I never should have left my Lani
For this mainland and the money
My Lani don’t you cry
I’m still your island guy
And I’m sailin’ to Hawaii

There’s no more time for wailing
I’ve got to go a-sailing
Hawaii is my island home
Never again will I ever roam
I’m sailin’ to Hawaii

I’m sailin’ to Hawaii
I’m sailin’ to Hawaii

Sugar Mill Dream (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#647)

Dreams were fulfilled
By the old sugar mill
By the old sugar mill
In Hawaii blue

The tropic moon with skill
Beamed love on the old sugar mill
Golden dreams were fulfilled
In Hawaii blue

Tradewinds in Waikiki
Whispered love to you and me
Now dreams have come true
In Hawaii blue

I dreamed of love like yours every lonely night
I never thought I’d see such a heavenly sight
By the old sugar mill, the moon beamed it’s love so true
And you gave your heart to me in Hawaii blue

We will never part
Our love is from the heart
By the old sugar mill
My dreams came true

The tropic moon with skill
Beamed love on the old sugar mill
Golden dreams were fulfilled
In Hawaii blue

Tradewinds in Waikiki
Whispered love to you and me
Now dreams have come true
In Hawaii blue

Moonlight Cowboy (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#648)

I’ve been livin’ in Hawaii so long
Playin’ Hawaiian songs
I know every band from Waikiki down to Maui
Where Kiho’alu makes the slack-key ring
But guitars like mine never get the break to make it sing

There’s been a lot of improvisation
Tryin’ to improve my island situation
But I’m gonna play at the greatest place in Waikiki

Like a Hawaiian cowboy
Like Danny Estocado, the cowboy from old Maui
Hawaiian cowboy
Playin’ his guitar and singin’ those island songs in the moonlight glow
And stealin’ the hearts of island girls, I know

I really like to hear Danny sing
But it’s not the same old thing
When your own guitar takes a backseat to the stars
I’ve got a long way to go
But I’m gonna have my show
Like a Hawaiian cowboy basking in the moonlight glow

There’s been a lot of improvisation
Tryin’ to improve my island situation
But I’m gonna play at the greatest place in Waikiki

Like a Hawaiian cowboy
Like Danny Estocado, the cowboy from old Maui
Hawaiian cowboy
Playin’ his guitar and singin’ those island songs in the moonlight glow
And stealin’ the hearts of island girls, I know

Like a Hawaiian cowboy
Like Danny Estocado
Hawaiian cowboy

Crown Of Love (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#649)

When the sun goes down over old Lahaina town
Colors of the rainbows there unfold
Harbor lights come on for night’s island songs
And the moon turns the bay to gold

Gentle is the mist and from the heavens kissed
Like dewdrops falling from an angel’s wing
A night like this should never be missed
Strolling hand in hand as steel guitars sing

Oh love of mine, let’s take the time
To let love wear a crown
Let the harbor lights light our love tonight
In old Lahaina town

Never more will I leave this shore
Done are whaling days of old and oceans cold
The tide has swung and the time has come
For our love together to grow old

My sea bag is back in the tropic zone
And I brought this flower lei for our home
Kiss me, my love, under moon above
In old Lahaina town

Gentle is the mist and from the heavens kissed
Like dewdrops falling from an angel’s wing
A night like this should never be missed
Strolling hand in hand as steel guitars sing

Oh love of mine, let’s take the time
To let love wear a crown
Let the harbor lights light our love tonight
In old Lahaina town

Stars Know Why (Larry W. ones 12/07/2002) (song#650)

The tropic moon shines upon the shore
The ocean waves kiss the sand once more
My love for you is as strong as the ocean’s roar
I love you now as I have before

My heart goes on beating for your love
The yellow moon shines beams from above
The stars all know why they’re in the sky
To guide our love and never say goodbye

In the dawn of each and every morning
I know the love that you show
I understand the meaning of Aloha
When I see how our love grows

I hear the birds of paradise singing
I see the love like stars in your eyes
I feel the mana that you’re bringing
To this love of ours in paradise

The tropic moon shines upon the shore
The ocean waves kiss the sand once more
The stars all know why they’re in the sky
To guide our love and never say goodbye

I hear the birds of paradise singing
I see the love like stars in your eyes
I feel the mana that you’re bringing
To this love of ours in paradise

You’re The Reason Why (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#651)

I’m in love and I feel it bad
You’re the reason why my heart is glad
You’re the reason why I’m never sad
I’m in love with you

You’re the reason, love’s in season
It isn’t treason to kiss the blues goodbye
The stars are shining there in your eyes
No wonder I’m here in paradise

I’m in love and I feel so glad
A love like yours I’ve never had
Birds of paradise fly here too
I’m in love in Hawaii blue

It isn’t treason to kiss the blues goodbye
You’re the reason for rainbows in the sky
I’m in love in Hawaii blue
I’m in love with you

I’m in love and I feel it bad
You’re the reason why my heart is glad
You’re the reason why I’m never sad
I’m in love with you

Paradise Called Home (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#652)

When the fire of youth was in my blood
I heard of horizons grand
It was dreams of youth then in the bud
When I left these island sands

And from that time when the world was gold
I chased those dreams and fame
But work and grime hurled woes and cold
And I longed for island sands again

An island once again
Smiles that I knew then
A tear came to my eyes
For my Hawaiian paradise

So, to my island home I did return
Though the fire of youth was gone
For my isles my heart forever brightly burns
In my Hawaiian paradise called home

An island once again
Smiles that I knew then
A tear came to my eyes
For my Hawaiian paradise

So, to my island home I did return
Though the fire of youth was gone
For my isles my heart forever brightly burns
In my Hawaiian paradise called home

Island Rose Bouquet (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#653)

You’ve been my love for a long time
Years have grown from all the days
Your love is as soft as the Maui chime
Sweet as an island rose bouquet

We watched our love grow together
Golden beams of lovelight on us fell
Our love has stood all stormy weather
Here in paradise where our love dwells

I remember the way our love started
I took shelter from the rain
From that time we’ve never parted
I would do it all again

Our song is not one of sorrow
Your love has been to me a joy
I’ll love you even more tomorrow
As we, songs of paradise employ

I’m not thinking just for future times
And I don’t dream about the past
You’re the only love I will call mine
And I will love you ’til the last

You’ve been my love for a long time
Years have grown from all the days
Your love is as soft as the Maui chime
Sweet as an island rose bouquet
Your love is as soft as the Maui chime
Sweet as an island rose bouquet

Wagon Boy (Larry W. Jones 12/07/2002) (song#654)

Do you know the horse wagons of long times ago
As they pulled sugar cane through the red dirt so slow
On the island they labored under sun that could kill
Until they reached the press at the old sugar mill

But the wagon boys then had a heart for the sand
As they harnessed the traces and fastened the bands
The horses were loyal and pulled wagons so filled
Until they reached the press at the old sugar mill

Away we did go as slow as the tide
Through the red fields of cane at our side
And the songs of the wagon boys are in my heart still
We sang all the way to the press at the old sugar mill

Young folks today don’t know the labor and wear
Of the horse wagons then and most likely don’t care
Let them laugh at the lines in my face if they will
But I’m proud I was a wagon boy at the old sugar mill

Do you know the horse wagons of long times ago
As they pulled sugar cane through the red dirt so slow
On the island they labored under sun that could kill
Until they reached the press at the old sugar mill

Young folks today don’t know the labor and wear
Of the horse wagons then and most likely don’t care
Let them laugh at the lines in my face if they will
But I’m proud I was a wagon boy at the old sugar mill

Mahina Lullaby (Larry W. Jones 12/08/2002) (song#655)

Over in Hawaii
Some years ago
My polynesian mama sang lullabys to me
Island songs so sweet and low

They were simple Aloha tunes
In her polynesian way
She sang about tropic moons
That I still hear today

Malamalama o ka mahina, moonlight in the sky
Malamalama o ka mahina, hush now, don’t you cry
Malamalama o ka mahina, baby sleep tonight

Sometimes in dreams I wander
Back to that seaside cottage again
I feel her arms around me
The same way she did back then

Malamalama o ka mahina, moonlight in the sky
Malamalama o ka mahina, hush now, don’t you cry
Malamalama o ka mahina, baby sleep tonight

And I hear the voice of Aloha
As in island days of yore
When mama rocked me by the seaside
Outside that cottage door

Malamalama o ka mahina, moonlight in the sky
Malamalama o ka mahina, hush now, don’t you cry
Malamalama o ka mahina, baby sleep tonight

Fair Leilani Rose (Larry W. Jones 12/08/2002) (#656)

Sweet is the lei blossom that in distant isle grows
Fair is the girl from Maui
Fresh is the mist that from waterfall flows
Leilani my love is fairer than any

Sail over the seas, my sweet island rose
Sail over the seas, Leilani
You are the flower where lei blossom grows
I’ll love you more than any

It was down in old Maui’s green valley we played
Tropic moon and the stars we were under
There beamed the moon and love we obeyed
But the sails and the sea pulled us asunder

Sail over the seas, my sweet island rose
Sail over the seas, Leilani
You are the flower where lei blossom grows
I’ll love you more than any

Tis not just the parting that causes me woes
It’s not the gallant ship named Endeavor
Tis the loss of Leilani, my sweet island rose
My heart for her will be breaking forever

Sail over the seas, my sweet island rose
Sail over the seas, Leilani
You are the flower where lei blossom grows
I’ll love you more than any
You are the flower where lei blossom grows
I’ll love you more than any

To The Hawaiian Cowboy (Larry W. Jones 12/08/2002) (song#657)

Here’s to the Hawaiian cowboy
That isle of paradise pioneer
His home, the islands is his joy
And few are the men to be his peer

Around his wide paniolo hat
Was the flower lei of his isle
Proud upon his Kapalua horse he sat
His kaula ili lariat by his side

By day he rode the green valleys
At night, ‘neath island stars
Over cattle he kept a careful tally
Played island songs on his guitar

There was no sorrow in his island land
But hard work was no surprise
There was cattle and sun and sand
It was the Hawaiian cowboy’s paradise

Here’s to the Hawaiian cowboy
To the greatest of all the names
To the mem’ry of Ikua Purdy
Hawaiian cowboy of island fame

Kula Koa Guitar (Larry W. Jones 12/08/2002) (song#658)

There Papa’s old koa guitar
On the pile of rubbish laid
It hadn’t gone very far
And not a sound it made

There was only one string left
And a crack ran down the back
Embedded pearl was by the cleft
Some wood had turned to black

I strummed on it’s single string
Amazed at the sounding ring
Memories went back afar
When Papa played that koa guitar

The year was early nineteen forty one
The big war had not yet begun
Papa was the Maui county engineer
His koa guitar he held so dear

Friends would come to play kiho’alu
Mama would serve up kalua stew
They sang under majestic srars
And Papa played his old koa guitar

Memories of Kula still becon me
To all those good times by the sea
I still cherish those memories from
The koa guitar Papa played for me

There was only one string left
And a crack ran down the back
Embedded pearl was by the cleft
Some wood had turned to black

Memories of Kula still becon me
To all those good times by the sea
I still cherish those memories from
The koa guitar Papa played for me

The Cliffs Na Pali (Larry W. Jones 12/09/2002) (song#659)

Sail where ye will, far from your land
Sail away o’er the oceans to far tropic sands
All the places dear, that I’ve lived so near
Can’t compare with Kauai and the cliffs Na Pali

Tis where the dolphins play on a bright Summer day
And see ye all the flowers that Kauai displays
Oh, the girls there are pretty down by the sea
Polynesian beauties of Kauai by the cliffs Na Pali

Take a hike o’er the mountains, green valleys you’ll see
There the waterfalls flow off the cliffs to the sea
Oh, the town of Hanalei, tis a sight to be seen
On the isle of Kauai by the cliffs Na Pali

I sailed away from Kauai but for a brief while
The ocean held sway and the sea, it ran wild
But again will I stroll with that girl by the sea
On the garden isle, Kauai, by the cliffs Na Pali

Sail where ye will, far from your land
Sail away o’er the oceans to far tropic sands
All the places dear, that I’ve lived so near
Can’t compare with Kauai and the cliffs Na Pali
All the places dear, that I’ve lived so near
Can’t compare with Kauai and the cliffs Na Pali

Love It Has Spoken (Larry W. Jones 12/09/2002) (song#660)

The moon it has risen, released from it’s prison
Beams of love it has spread, for the day that we wed
Songs of the twilight, praise for the moonlight
Songs for the loving words that you said

Whisper the tradewinds, love that all transcends
Like the sweet rose, of isles in repose
Pray for the time when, our love will be one then
On islands of beauty, filled with rainbows

You are my sunshine, moon and my starlight
You are the one who, will share my blessed life
Songs of the islands, bring your love to me
Forever will you be, my heart’s delight

Islands have spoken, vows never broken
Moonlight of lovebeams, upon the sea
You are my sweetheart, never will we part
Love it has spoken, for you and for me

To Me Your Love (Larry W. Jones 12/09/2002) (song#661)

As I stroll along hand in hand with you
I hear your name whispered on tradewinds
Birds of paradise fly across the blue
I think that they must hear it too

I’ve heard of stories often told
Of how love is like a whispered song
If you hear the tradewinds, listen close
They say that to me your love belongs

Deeply beating is the tempo of my heart
Softly breathing are the warm tradewinds
And to me their song of love imparts
Words sweet that have all lovers penned

The moon is full this tropic night
There’s music in the night tradewinds
Come be my love with stars so bright
As songs of love softly here descends

As island stories once again are told
Of how love is like a whispered song
If you hear the tradewinds, listen close
They say that to me your love belongs
If you hear the tradewinds, listen close
They say that to me your love belongs

A Dream Returning (12/09/2002) (song#662)

The islands are calling to me
I hear every word they’re saying
Dreams are going through my mind

Aloha means they are caring
Ohana they are sharing
Hawaii is a state for mankind

There is where rainbows are painted
In the skies of blue
Love is something in the wind

You will find love there acquainted
With the land and people too
Hawaii will be your friend

If you ever see a dream returning to your mind
It may just seem to be so hard to find
You will find an island when it seems that there are none
Hawaii will be your dream, warm islands shining in the sun

There is where rainbows are painted
In the skies of blue
Love is something in the wind

You will find love there acquainted
With the land and people too
Hawaii will be your friend

On The Evening Tide (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#663)

The evening tide
Drifts out to sea
The evening tide
Took you from me

The lips I kissed
Those times of bliss
Those times of old
My heart still holds

The sea took you away
On the evening tide
Oh, what did you say
That day you lied

But I miss you still
And I will love you til
You are by my side
On the evening tide

Picking Up The Pieces (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#664)

Picking up the pieces
Of my broken heart in vain
Picking up the pieces
That you threw down again

I asked you to stay
But you had to go your way
You could only say
Lies the same as yesterday
You’re still breaking my heart
Now I have to start
Picking up the pieces

Picking up the pieces
The puzzle of love is just a game
Picking up the pieces
Maybe both must share the blame

I know there’s other islands in the stream of love
Someone like me they’re thinking of
But each time I think of you
My heart breaks right in two, and I’m
Picking up the pieces

I know there’s other islands in the stream of love
Someone like me they’re thinking of
But each time I think of you
My heart breaks right in two, and I’m
Picking up the pieces

Islands Can Render Love (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#665)

Islands can render
Love so sweet
Like a rainbow
Our love was destined here to meet
More than you’ll know

Islands can render
Love that’s true
Dreams are waiting there still
For me and also for you
Hawaii, our dreams fulfill

Islands can render
Love that is strong
Look into my heart, dear
Love is there in song
It will last through the years

Islands can render
A heart full of cheer
Say that you’ll be mine
Island stars will forever steer
Our love til the end of time

On The Shore Where You Live (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#666)

How often I have sailed through these isles before
But we always anchored in the bay
Of other island shores
But now my heart flies as the mast is high
Rowing toward the shore where you live

I see swaying coco palms in old Lahaina town
Birds of paradise are flying all around
Does island music pour from every cottage door
No, it’s just on the shore where you live

And you are so appealing with the flower behind your ear
You know my heart you are stealing any time that you are near

Sailors see you there, but you’re the one for me
Your beauty is so rare even on this island in the sea
Let the ships go by, as long as you and I
Can stay here on the shore where you live

On Some Enchanted Island (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#667)

On some enchanted island
Through the clouds and gloom
Love is an arranger
Of hearts when love’s in bloom
You’ll feel it in the air
And even if you can’t explain
You will know that somewhere
You’ll see her smile again

On some enchanted island
Someone is singing an island tune
You will hear her singing
Underneath a tropic moon
The stars will shine so brightly
On some enchanted night
And every night it seems
She will be there in your dreams

Don’t try to second guess it
Don’t try to reason why
Just let the islands bless it
And give your heart a try

On some enchanted island
If you just give it room
Your heart will find your true love
Gone are the clouds and gloom
Go make her your bride
And never from her roam
Your dream will be by your side
There in her enchanted home

On some enchanted island
Your dreams come true

Stop, Look And Listen (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#668)

You’re my island hula miss
You make me love you all the more
You’re the one I love to kiss
On this tropic island shore

If I were far across the ocean
On some lonesome empty land
I would sail for your love potion
And get there any way I can

You looked just like an angel
When you appeared before my eyes
Now I’m under your sweet spell
On this isle of paradise

I stop and look and listen
When I hear those island songs
And I don’t have to be a-wishin’
For an angel island home

I stop and look and listen
When I hear those island songs
And I don’t have to be a-wishin’
For an angel island home

Sailing On The Midnight Tide (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#669)

I’ve been all around old Lahaina town
I’ve looked where the tradewinds blow
But there’s not a trace of her pretty face
So I guess I’ll just set sail and go

I’ll be sailing on the midnight tide away
And this time I’m gonna stay
I’ll be sailing to the land of the midnight sun
To finish out my whaling days

She said she would wait for me til my whaling days were through
I thought that on her love I could depend
But she’s nowhere around old Lahaina town and I’m blue
So I’m sailing on the midnight tide again

If she hears this old salty song it will be too late
She took my love and then she threw it down
She said she would wait for our wedding date
But there’s not a trace of her pretty face in old Lahaina town
I’ll leave my broken heart on the midnight tide from old Lahaina town

When The Birds Of Paradise Begin To Sing (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#670)

Tropic stars and the yellow moon are shining
Birds of paradise all around are singing
Tradewinds whisper words like leis designing
For that sweet island girl I’m going to see again

It’s been so long since the day I saw her
I still hear the birds of paradise in the Spring
She’s the girl who caused my heart to stir
Like the birds of paradise when they sing

When I sailed away I knew I’d be returning
To that girl my love and life to bring
Soon I’ll be there and my heart’s yearning
For when the birds of paradise begin to sing

It’s just like the night when I made my promise
That I would be back by her side in the Spring
And she knows I’m not some doubting Thomas
I’ll be there when the birds of paradise begin to sing

Where Island Roses Bloom (12/10/2002) (song#671)

Beneath the rainbows ‘oer the valley
Island roses in the sun do shine
By the mountain streams that flow so gaily
It was there your heart met mine

Words of lovers softly sighing
Strolling slowly hand in hand
Like lovebirds in their flying
Building nests in island sand

I’ll meet my love there by the shore
Back where our love was first begun
There we’ll stroll hand in hand once more
Where island roses bloom in the sun

Words of love on tradewinds whisper
Be true to her til you both are one
Beneath the rainbows ‘oer the valley
Where island roses bloom in the sun

Words of lovers softly sighing
Strolling slowly hand in hand
Like lovebirds in their flying
Building nests in island sand

Words of love on tradewinds whisper
Be true to her til you both are one
Beneath the rainbows ‘oer the valley
Where island roses bloom in the sun

I Wonder (Larry W. Jones (12/10/2002) (song#672)

Island sun can make you happy
And someone can make you blue
I gave you my heart so freely
I thought you were happy too
I wonder if your heart is blue

I wonder if you’ll cry when I’m leaving
I’ll try to smile even though I’m blue
My broken heart is now grieving
In Hawaii I thought dreams came true
I wonder if you’re dreaming too

Is it right for lovers to have to part
After all that we’ve been through
I thought true love was in your heart
I wonder if we’ve seen it through
I wonder who’s seeing you

Without your love I’m starving
My dreams of you turned blue
A new life I guess I’ll be carving
Away from Hawaii blue
I wonder if your dreams come true

I’ll keep this fragrant lei you gave me
To remind me of Hawaii
And in my memory it’s you I’ll see
I wonder if you’ll remember me
I wonder if you wonder too

Necklace Tied In Blue (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#673)

Far away on a peaceful island
Where rainbows come out to play
There I strolled hand in hand
With a pretty island maid

Leilani was the sweetest one and fair
Island girl I ever knew
She wore a lei blossom in her hair
And a necklace tied in blue

The time came when my ship departed
And I saw her tears that fell
I must go back where our love started
To my sweet Leilani island belle

That girl meant everything to me
Her love was so kind and true
I dream of lei blossoms in her hair
And a necklace tied in blue

Leilani was the sweetest one and fair
Island girl I ever knew
She wore a lei blossom in her hair
And a necklace tied in blue

That girl meant everything to me
Her love was so kind and true
I dream of lei blossoms in her hair
And a necklace tied in blue

Peaceful Blue Bay (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#674)

I sailed into a peaceful blue bay at last
With a rainbow shining above
My ship was almost on the rocks there cast
Outside the reef in the waves thereof

The storm is ‘ore
I’m safe once more
I’m glad to make this island mine
The reef I passed
Between the ocean vast
Into the peaceful blue bay sublime

A sailor can feel the danger as the oceans he does roam
Sometimes he needs an island just to rest his soul
A peaceful blue bay can be days away at his island home
Far away from the wind and storms that make ships roll

A sailor’s life can meet face to face with Davey Jones
And the ocean can claim everything he owns
So pray your ship the reef has passed
And a peaceful blue bay at last

The storm is ‘ore
I’m safe once more
I’m glad to make this island mine
The reef I passed
Between the ocean vast
Into the peaceful blue bay sublime

Little Island Cottage (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#675)

There’s a cottage on the island of Kauai
Under trees where life is calm
No other place means as much to me
As that little island cottage in the palms

Papa played a ukulele made of koa wood
Mama danced as Papa on it strummed
No memories are better than my childhood
In that little island cottage in the palms

There were happy times in the front porch swing
Mom and Pop both held me in their arms
I remember island songs we used to sing
In that little island cottage in the palms

I wish that I could turn the time around
Back when I was in the arms of Dad and Mom
I would sing once again about the love I found
In that little island cottage in the palms

Songs To The Cattle Herd (12/10/2002) (song#676)

The stars are out and the moon is full
The heavens above seem to be so near
A Hawaiian cowboy herds cattle and bulls
On the island that he loves so dear

He thinks of island stories his Papa would tell
And he seems to remember every word
He can play a guitar and he plays it well
As he sings his island songs to the cattle herd

The cows are lying on the slopes by the sea
The Parker ranch is one of the very best
There were times when they roamed so free
On islands where the cowboy’s life was blessed

A Hawaiian cowboy is out west in pastures green
Where neighbors always have an Aloha word
Hawaiian cowboys live dreams others don’t see
As he sings his island songs to the cattle herd

He thinks of island stories his Papa would tell
And he seems to remember every word
He can play a guitar and he plays it well
As he sings his island songs to the cattle herd

Girl On The Mainland Shore (Larry W. Jones 12/10/2002) (song#677)

It was the year when I was twenty two
In Hawaii in the month of June
I left the island, my Hawaii blue
For a girl on the mainland shore

My Mama tried to explain to me
But I wouldn’t hear no more
She said son don’t leave your island dear
For a girl on the mainland shore

But when a man is young he has to start
Making his way in a reckless life
So from Hawaii and my Mama I did depart
And I made that mainland girl my wife

Her face was fair and she had blonde hair
An island boy couldn’t ask for more
Her smile was sweet beyond compare
That girl on the mainland shore

The time did fly and a year went by
Then she left me standing at the door
Then I knew what Mama said and why
About a girl on the mainland shore

The Whispering Trades (Larry W. Jones 12/11/2002) (song#678)

The whispering trades are the winds that blow
The winds that over islands go
And who can know, when love will show
When the whispering trades, over islands flow

To an island soon is where I’ll go
Where the winds of trade over islands blow
And there I’ll find, my dream I know
Where the whispering trades, over islands flow

Islands are where the rainbows shine
There is where I’ll make her mine
Where tradewinds paint, the sunset glow
Where the whispering trades, over islands flow

Islands are where the palm trees grow
Where the tradewinds are blowing to and fro
It’s there that life, goes on real slow
Where the whispering trades, over islands flow

Oh, I met her there in the evening glow
The flower in her hair in the wind did blow
And her endless love, now my heart does know
Where the whispering trades, over islands flow

The whispering trades are the winds that blow
The winds that over islands go
And who can know, when love will show
When the whispering trades, over islands flow

Old Waikiki Magic (Larry W. Jones 12/11/2002) (song#679)

Was old Waikiki just charming in its magic glow
Or was it just the beauty there that made it so
Like an orchestra in symphony of lovliness
Old Waikiki at sunset was aglow with blessedness

It was at the hour when I loved old Waikiki the best
Just preceding dinner and the quickly darkened west
Shadows cast by the coco palms and setting sun
Flames on Diamond Head from the rays had just begun

The tint of gold in the rollers sweeping off the coral reef
In old Waikiki, swimmers dotting waters there in dark relief
With gentleness the waters touched the shoreline sand
Like a lover touched so softly by familiar hands

On the springboard of the float a slim brown girl was poised
The magic in her dive wasn’t just another island joy
That girl is my sweetheart, I want the world to know
In old Waikiki she was the beauty of its magic glow

Was old Waikiki just charming in its magic glow
Or was it just the beauty there that made it so
That girl is my sweetheart, I want the world to know
In old Waikiki she was the beauty of its magic glow

A Floating Message (Larry W. Jones 12/11/2002) (song#680)

Have you ever been a castaway
Has your heart been lost at sea
Is your life just another lonely day
Do you ever have dreams like me

To spend your life in loneliness
Might be more than you can bear
To know your dreams are never blessed
Can bring you sorrow and despair

I put a message in a bottle
And let it float around the world
While I sailed my boat without a throttle
In search of my dream island girl

A lot of time since then has passed
Like water under a bridge of glass
I can see but it’s not very clear
Just where in life my ship to steer

I put a message in a bottle
And let it float around the world
While I sailed my boat without a throttle
In search of my dream island girl

Yesterday I woke up early
And looked out toward the sea
Her hair shined soft and curly
And she smiled when she looked at me

She said did you put a message in a bottle
And let it float around the world
It was just like the message that I sent
That’s why I want to be your island girl

I put a message in a bottle
And let it float around the world
She wrote a message in a bottle
Now she’s my dream island girl

Made With Majesty (Larry W. Jones 12/11/2002) (song#681)

These isles are your land, this sand is my land
From Moloka’i, to the farthest island
From the sweet lei florist, to the clear bay waters
These isles were made with majesty

When I was hiking that Diamond Head pathway
I smelled the fragrance island flowers made
Saw below me palms swaying gently
These isles were made in majesty

These isles are your land, this sand is my land
From Moloka’i, to the farthest island
From the sweet lei florist, to the clear bay waters
These isles were made with majesty

The foam that scrambles, to wash away footsteps
Made in sparkling sands by girls in island tans
And all around me tradewinds are calling
These isles were made with majesty

These isles are your land, this sand is my land
From Moloka’i, to the farthest island
From the sweet lei florist, to the clear bay waters
These isles were made with majesty

These isles are your land, this sand is my land
From Moloka’i, to the farthest island
From the sweet lei florist, to the clear bay waters
These isles were made with majesty

Island Roads (Larry W. Jones 12/12/2002) (song#682)

Island roads, take me home
To the shore where I belong
Ka’anapali, island honey
Take me home, island roads

Almost heaven, Ka’anapali
West Maui mountains, Palikea River
Life is slower there, under swaying trees
Love is on the mountains
On the tradewind breeze

Island roads, take me home
To the shore where I belong
Ka’anapali, island honey
Take me home, island roads

Island memories, glad I found her
Island lady, no stranger to blue water
Always trusty, love that never lies
Underneath the moonlight
Starlight in her eyes

Island roads, take me home
To the shore where I belong
Ka’anapali, island honey
Take me home, island roads

I smell the fragrance of lei blossom flowers
She calls to me, she calls to me
Steel guitars called me to Ka’anapali from far away
And driving down this island road I get a feeling
That I’m glad I got home yesterday, yesterday

Island roads, take me home
To the shore where I belong
Ka’anapali, island honey
Take me home, island roads

Flower Of The IslandsFlower Of The Islands (12/12/2002) (song#683)

Flower of the islands, I hold you to my heart
Your love is always with me, in its deepest part
Should I ever wander, should I ever roam
My flower of the islands will safely guide me home

Life can be a mystery, like the deep blue sea
But if I’m far from these island coral shores
My flower of the islands will surely call to me
And I’ll see again the flower that she wore

She’s the flower of the island valleys and the hills
Sweet as the music making island lovers smile
She’s all the things I love and that my dreams fulfill
For my flower of the islands, I’ll sail ten thousand miles

Flower of the islands, I hold you to my heart
Your love is always with me, in its deepest part
Should I ever wander, should I ever roam
My flower of the islands will safely guide me home

Kauai My Love (Larry W. Jones 12/12/2002) (song#684)

Kauai is an island you can love
She’s the queen of the garden islands all
Kauai is an island made for love
I hear her birds of paradise now call
Aloha E Komo Mai, my love

Her palms sway gently in the breeze
Kauai is an island you’ll adore
Listen as the tradewinds whisper please
Come to my distant island shore
Aloha E Komo Mai, my love

Kauai is an island you can love
Hanalei is the bay that you dream of
Kauai is an island made for love
When the moon is over Hanalei above
Aloha E Komo Mai, my love

Heaven must have planted all her flowes
Fragrant is the air from island showers
Kauai is an island made for love
Soft are the tradewinds, gentle as a dove
Aloha E Komo Mai, my love

Polynesian Hawa-esion Girl Of Mine (Larry W. Jones 12/12/2002) (song#685)

I’m sailin’ to Hawaii
Look to see if I can find
Sailin’ to Hawaii
Look to see if I can find
That polynesian Hawa-esion girl of mine

She had beauty in her smile
Young and tan and tall
She had beauty in her smile
Young and tan and tall
I hear that polynesian Hawa-esion call

It’s been too long, darling
Since I was warmed by your flame
It’s been too long, darling
Since I was warmed by your flame
I’m sailin’ to Hawaii to attain
That polynesian Hawa-esion girl again

I’ll be there someday mighty soon
Darlin’, don’t you cry
I’ll be there someday mighty soon
Darlin’, don’t you cry
When I see my polynesian Hawa-esion girl again
I’ll kiss the lone star state goodbye

I’m sailin’ to Hawaii
Look to see if I can find
Sailin’ to Hawaii
Look to see if I can find
That polynesian Hawa-esion girl of mine
That polynesian Hawa-esion girl of mine

Hawaiian Goodnight (Larry W. Jones 12/12/2002) (song#686)

A golden Hawaiian sunset
Is sweeping ‘ore the sea
Clouds and sun are saying
Aloha, goodnight to Hawaii

The islands start their slumber
From the big island to Niihau
Now they close their eyes in wonder
As the sun says goodbye for now

Now the moon arises
For the lovers on the shore
The night brings paradise
As a million nights before

Love blossoms in the moonlight
Enraps lovers in its arms
Every heart feels sweet delight
As Hawaii shows its charms

All too soon here is the sunrise
To wake the islands from their sleep
Day and night here in paradise
Hearts of lovers will Hawaii keep

The Reason Is (Larry W. Jones 12/13/2002) (song#687)

Tonight I’m thinking about you
You make me happy, happy in Hawaii blue
Tonight, tonight I’m thinking about you
And the reason, the reason is that I love you

It’s just not right when I’m not with you
Your love, your love means the world to me
When you’re not here, my world is blue
You’re my dream, my dream come true in blue Hawaii

When we kiss, you know you make me glad
Tonight I’m thinking about you
I would never do anything to make you sad
And the reason, the reason is that I love you

Tonight I’m thinking about you
You make me happy, happy in Hawaii blue
Tonight, tonight I’m thinking about you
And the reason, the reason is that I love you
And the reason, the reason is that I love you

At The Rendezvous (Larry W. Jones 12/13/2002) (song#688)

In the moonlight of Waikiki
I’ll be seeing my sweet island love so true
Away from the traffic of the city
She’ll be there where we always rendezvous

On the beach we can talk and stroll together
We will plan our dreams there by the sea

In the moonlight of Waikiki
On the beach where dreams come true
She will know how much she means to me
There on the beach where we always rendezvous

On the beach we can talk and stroll together
We will plan our dreams there by the sea
On the beach where we always rendezvous
At the rendezvous
At the rendezvous

Magic Of Hawaiian Isles (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#689)

Couples strolling in the seaside park
Like you and me, they know
When we’re together in the dark
The moon above isn’t just for show
It’s the magic of Hawaiian isles

My life is happy and I love you
Bells will ring when we’re strolling down the aisle
Rainbows will shine upon our life anew
It’s the magic of Hawaiian isles

Life and living used to be just a game
But now my life will never be the same
You are my life, and your love will make it so
Now we’ll live those dreams we dreamed so long ago

Couples strolling in the seaside park
Like you and me, they know
When we’re together in the dark
The moon above isn’t just for show
It’s the magic of Hawaiian isles

My life is happy and I love you
Bells will ring when we’re strolling down the aisle
Rainbows will shine upon our life anew
It’s the magic of Hawaiian isles

Bring The Island Sun (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#690)

Bring the island world my way
Just like in the travel folder
I read the things it had to say
Bring that warm island sun my way

I remember when you left me
My world turned cold with you away
I guess yours is warm in blue Hawaii
Bring the island sun my way

Bring the island world my way
Just like in the travel folder
I read the things it had to say
Bring that warm island sun my way

I’m sorry if I caused your heart distress
I can’t find the words I want to say
Just let the world bring back our happiness
And bring the island sun my way

Bring the island world my way
Just like in the travel folder
I read the things it had to say
Bring that warm island sun my way

Hawaii Was Made For Love (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#291)

Feel the tradewinds softly on your face
Stars in your eyes from up above
Feel my arms as we embrace
Hawaii was made for love

Moonlit shadows become as one, it appears
You fit me like a tee and like a glove
I will make you happy through the years
Hawaii was made for love

Just yesterday you and I made up our mind
Our love is growing oh so strong
You’re the dream I always tried to find
You’re my Hawaiian dream love song

I promise that I’ll make you happy
You are the dream that I dreamed of
You’re my life here by the sea
Hawaii was made for love

Mama Made The Flower Leis (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#692)

Mama made the flower leis
She strung them by the yard
Island life was in her ways
Even when the times were hard

Mama made the flower leis
And she always took the time
To bring us up in loving ways
Like the island brings sunshine

Our house was just a cottage by the bay
But mama was it’s queen
Mama made the flower leis
Mama made the cottage sing

I still have that old flower press
Mama gave to me that day
Between it’s pages, flowers blessed
Mama made the flower leis

For the island flowers mama had a special love
They were like the love that she displayed
Mama is the flower most that I think of
Mama made the flower leis

Listen To The Ukulele Ring (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#693)

The music came and then it went, like some dream that I’d invent
Never owning love, just paying rent
I tried to laugh and make her smile, like sunshine on a tropic isle
But I just paid the interest on the mortgage for awhile

Listen to the ukulele ring, listen to the guitars sing
It’s the same old fling, she was such a lovely thing
Tradewinds whisper low, play the ukulele slow
Tears like the oceans flow, from my eyes as the music goes

A moonlight dance in Waikiki
I can hear the island music playing still
Songs of love down by the sea
But I guess they just weren’t songs for me

Strolling down the seashore
Her love was like a tropic storm
Now I can’t hear the sea roar
The music’s gone from islands warm

Listen to the ukulele ring, listen to the guitars sing
It’s the same old fling, she was such a lovely thing
Tradewinds whisper low, play the ukulele slow
Tears like the oceans flow, from my eyes as the music goes

The flooding tide is coming in
But I feel love ebbing from within
Listen to the ukulele ring
Gone is the love that music brings

Listen to the ukulele ring, listen to the guitars sing
It’s the same old fling, she was such a lovely thing
Tradewinds whisper low, play the ukulele slow
Tears like the oceans flow, from my eyes as the music goes

I’m The Cowboy (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#694)

I’m just your ordinary hero, ma’am
I came to save the day
I always wear this white ten gallon hat
To save you, come what may

I’m the cowboy in your dreams
And I’ll make them all come true
Even in Hawaii where islands gleam
I’m the cowboy who’s in love with you

I’m the one you come to see
When love won’t open up the door
I’m the cowboy with the key
To your heart there on Hawaii’s shore

I’ll just work a miracle or two
To solve your special needs
Like strolling hand in hand with you
Beside the silver seas

Remember when you need a hero, ma’am
There are cowboys in Hawaii too
So, if your lovelife is in a jam
I’m the cowboy who’s in love with you

My Heart In Your Pocket (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#695)

You’ve got my heart in your pocket
I thought I never would be caught
You’ve got me spinning like a sproket
Into love I had never sought

It must be love ’cause it ain’t money
It could be the island’s dewey mist
Island bees sure made sweet honey
This island boy found when we kissed

When your surfboard ran me over
It was like the flooding tide
Love didn’t have to run for cover
It found me right here by your side

You’ve got my heart and my devotion
You’ve got my ring beside your locket
Your love fills up my emotions
You’ve got my heart in your pocket

Island Man Tomorrow (Larry W. Jones 12/16/2002) (song#696)

I’ll be an island man tomorrow
This mainland is trouble anyway
On the isle I’ll feel no sorrow
Where steel island guitars play

My mama always said don’t be a stranger
She wants to see my face once more
Even if I be a Texas ranger
Don’t forget the love on island shores

So, I’m done with the trails I rode
Through the Texas dust and rain
I’ll be an island man tomorrow
And see my island mama smile again

I’m going back to my Hawaii
Where this island cowboy started from
I’ll be an island man tomorrow
In Hawaii under island sun

Old Hawaiian Sugar Mill (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#697)

There’s a place on the edge of Lahaina town
In the red dirt sugar cane fields
The island sun would make your skin turn brown
At that old Hawaiian sugar mill

Every day you could see the cane fields sway
By the old dirt roads over red dirt hills
There as a boy is where I played
At that old Hawaiian sugar mill

My daddy would take me on a cane wagon ride
Through the roads that I remember still
I would sing along there by his side
On the way to that old Hawaiian sugar mill

In the summer when school was out
There was music that gave me a thrill
I knew what ohana love was all about
At that old Hawaiian sugar mill

Tonight I’m back in old Lahaina town
The moon and stars are shining still
I think about the love that I knew down
At that old Hawaiian sugar mill

Leilani, Island Dream (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#698)

Leilani..
The most heavenly flower I’ve ever seen
Leilani. Leilani. Leilani
What could such a heavenly vision now mean
Leilani. Leilani. Leilani

Leilani
A rose of the islands named Leilani
My life will never be the same
Her name means the world to me

Leilani
A heavenly flower is Leilani
Her face is like a bonnie flower too
Leilani, I’m in love with you

Leilani
Music plays when you are near
My heart says I love you dear
Leilani
I’ll never stop loving Leilani
The most heavenly flower I’ve ever seen
Leilani, my island dream

Kimo’s New Canoe (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#699)

Kimo got a new canoe
It’s a brand new outrigger too
All the island girls just laugh and squeal
They want to make Kimo a deal
Wherever Kimo paddles to
They want to paddle his canoe

Kimo got a new canoe
The outrigger he was looking for
All the island girls just beg for more
When Kimo paddles up to the shore
Wherever Kimo paddles to
They want to paddle his canoe

Kimo, can we ride, can we paddle your canoe
Kimo, your muscles sure look bigger
Can we paddle your outrigger
Kimo, can we ride, can we paddle your canoe

Seven Hundred (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002)(song#700)

Seven hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Seven hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Seven hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

If you ever ask me how long for you my love will be
Seven hundred lifetimes, then we would wait and see
If I could do it over, not a thing would I ever change
I could sing you island songs of love that I’ve arranged

If you ever ask me how deep for you my love will be
I can only tell you that my love is deeper than the sea
Seven hundred fathoms down lives cousin Davy Jones
Says I got more songs to write about these tropic zones

Seven hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Seven hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Seven hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
Seven hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

Those Memories (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#701)

Seen in the island morning skies
Seen at the flaming sunset too
Where the birds of paradise there flew
Those memories I see of you

I see them here and see them there
Visions of the love that once we knew
And they’re still there, beyond compare
Those memories I see of you

I tried to forget but they’re here yet
Those scenes of sweet island times we knew
Reminding me of when we met
Those memories I see of you

Like moonlit beams, you’re in my dreams
Still there in Hawaii blue
And in those dreams, your love still brings
Those memories I see of you

Most Of All I See (12/17/2002) (song#702)

I read the flight plan that led you far away
I saw the landing lights turned off for the day
I see you didn’t mean the words you had to say
But most of all I see Hawaiian dreams are blue

My heart is cryin’ and you can see the pain
My dreams are dyin’ and you can see they’re the same
I see you flying away on a silver plane
But most of all I see Hawaiian dreams are blue

I’ll see if I can follow waypoints back to you
I’ll get my magic carpet and I’ll follow you
I’ll see if I can see my way clear to you
But most of all I see Hawaiian dreams are blue

I see your flight from Hono is on the way
I see you leave although I thought that you would stay
I see that love has flown away
But most of all I see Hawaiian dreams are blue

I’ll see if I can follow waypoints back to you
I’ll get my magic carpet and I’ll follow you
I’ll see if I can see my way clear to you
But most of all I see Hawaiian dreams are blue

Lemon Drop Lullaby (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#703)

Sing a song of angel dust, of islands that can fly
Go to sleep, my baby. Baby, don’t you cry
We will watch the tiki torch burn from the window sill
Watch the stars come out to play and dream, dream away

Sing a song of angel dust, of islands that can fly
Go to sleep, my baby. Baby, don’t you cry
Dreams like lemon drops are swirling in your head
So, dream a dream that never stops and sleep now on your bed

Dream that you’re here tonight and gone to Maui
When you dream, you can see all the isles
And when you’re a little older, remember with a smile
How we watched the tiki torch on islands that could fly
So, dream a dream that never stops and sleep now through the night

Sing a song of angel dust, of islands that can fly
Go to sleep, my baby. Baby, don’t you cry
Dreams like lemon drops are swirling in your head
So, dream a dream that never stops and sleep now on your bed

Crashing Island Reef (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#704)

You look for circumvention, and with such good intention
I hope it’s not misfortune, when we cruise across the ocean
I hope our ship’s not foundered, and our love’s not grounded
On the crashing island reef, on the crashing island reef

You think there’s an enterprize, if you and I would only try
You say there’s no weather situation, no matter the cruising destination
Your words have been expressed, I hope our love’s not depressed
On the crashing island reef, on the crashing island reef

I know it sounds so simple, to let the past just crumple
And I know you’ll never crumble, just don’t let our love now stumble

You see that captivation, with every abberation
Doesn’t lead to celebration, whatever the location
I know your heart is yearning, don’t end our love by turning
On the crashing island reef, on the crashing island reef
I know your heart is yearning, don’t end our love by turning
On the crashing island reef, on the crashing island reef

Yours Alone (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#705)

This heart of mine has found the start
Of beats that find me wanting you
This love of mine although it’s new
Is one that won’t need to be renewed

Never before, but now and for evermore
Whether Oklahoma or some island shore
Our love will be like eagles as they soar
It’s you, it’s you, it’s your love that I adore

Beyond the reef or beyond our prime
It’s you this beating heart will love, and I’m
Yours alone, and forever you’ll be mine
Yours alone, and forever you’ll be mine

This heart of mine has found the start
Of beats that find me wanting you
This love of mine although it’s new
Is one that won’t need to be renewed

Beyond the reef or beyond our prime
It’s you this beating heart will love, and I’m
Yours alone, and forever you’ll be mine
Yours alone, and forever you’ll be mine

Island Girls’ Hero (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#706)

You’re the island girls’ hero
But I’m sure you already know
Steel guitar songs so sweet and low
You really steal the show

Island girls send kisses just for you
With the fragrant flowers that they threw
They wait at the stage door hoping soon
To be the one with you under the moon

When island songs you start to sing
You will be their island king
When island songs you start to sing
Island girls start clamoring
To be your island queen

You’re the island girls’ hero
But I’m sure you already know
Steel guitar songs so sweet and low
You really steal the show

When island songs you start to sing
You will be their island king
When island songs you start to sing
Island girls start clamoring
To be your island queen

Oceans To Lifetimes (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#707)

On a three masted schooner a thousand leagues from nowhere
The old salt watched as the sun on the horizon hung
To the young sailor who was watching with him there
He told of times old when he was still young

I made the ocean my life in the cold whaling zone
I followed my Dad on the ships that he sailed
Now I’m just an old salt making islands my home
And I earned every stale biscuit through every storm gail

Remember, ohana means family and the love that they’ve shown
Through the eye of the storm, I’m sailing to my island home

Seas turn to oceans and oceans to lifetimes
Life sails away the dreams that you planned
Son, you’re a young sailor and if this ocean’s your future
Then follow your dreams any way that you can

The wind hit the sails and the old salt was leaning
Sailor, son, the masts are squeaking like old bones
This ocean is wide but I’ve sailed oceans meaner
Tomorrow, islands ‘ore the horizon, I’ll be back home

Through the wild squalls of midnight, sails ripped and torn
The old salt talked of old times and islands called home
He said be an honest sailor and a man wherever you roam
Finally sleep fell upon him and his face looked so worn

The oceans won’t make you rich and they will drown all your dreams
Son, ohana is the love from your family and the only sure thing

The old salt saw things straight but it’s hard for me to wait
I’ve already paid the price for my ways
When I think back on that sailor, the old salt, that mate
I’m not a young sailor and I know I’ve followed his fate

Another ship, another trip out on oceans eleven
Sailing’s my life, sailing oceans so blue
A sailor’s life ain’t easy, hard biscuits with no leaven
Remember, son, that old salt told me, now son, you’ll find it’s true

Seas turn to oceans and oceans to lifetimes
Life sails away the dreams that you planned
Son, you’re a young sailor and if this ocean’s your future
Then follow your dreams any way that you can

And I Love You (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#708)

Come with me
The moon is here upon the sea
And I feel like strolling in the sand, I’m sure you understand
And I love you, love to just hold your hand

Down by the bay, a thousand steel guitars will play
It’s like music to my ears when you say Aloha to me, dear
And I love you, just having you near

In paradise they say that to love you are drawn
And love is what they say you will find
My love for you is from the night until the dawn
My heart with you is so entwined

You’re my only love, and island love is wonderful
I know you’re right for me and me for you
Come with me, the moon is full
And I love you, just loving you

Island Sundays (Larry W. Jones 12/17/2002) (song#709)

Island Sundays, you came to me
Island Sundays, you and I down by the sea
Yes, island Sundays, island Sundays were meant for you and me
Those island Sundays when we strolled hand in hand by the silver sea

Island Sundays, you came to me
Island Sundays, our hearts back then were free
Yes, island Sundays, island Sundays were free as the tradewind breeze
Yes, island Sundays were meant for you and me

Every loving way, every loving way, every loving way we could find, yeah
More ways to show the love that we found
And every island Sunday you would be mine, yeah

Island Sundays, we loved those days
Island Sundays, down by the bay
Yes, island Sundays, days to play
Island Sundays, dreams came our way
Island Sundays
Island Sundays

Maui Island Road (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#710)

In an old rust bucket as the sun goes down
He pulls down the brim of his hat to shade his eyes
He drives that old Maui island road to Lahaina town
And wonders why they call it paradise

The tropic sun is setting now, the moon will soon be on the sea
As he drives into old Lahaina town
He parks beside the bay where the whaling ships used to be
And he hears that old skack-key island sound

Those slack-key bands still play old island songs
Like Gabby Pahinui used to play
The old tiki bar is still the same and it feels like home
Those memories just never fade away
No, those memories are here to stay

He thinks back to 1948, or was it ’49
He played with Gabby in island bands
And the koa guitar they gave him then, well, it still sounds just fine
And he remembers songs about island sands

But his singing days are long over, his voice is getting weak
And his slack-key pickin’, well, his shaking fingers aren’t so quick

Those slack-key bands still play old island songs
Like Gabby Pahinui used to play
The old tiki bar is still the same and it feels like home
Those memories just never fade away
No, those memories are here to stay

Now it’s three AM and it’s time to leave
And you can see the tears welling up in his eyes
One last song and it’s time to grieve
And he wonders why they call it paradise

In an old rust bucket as the sun goes down
He pulls down the brim of his hat to shade his eyes
He drives that old Maui island road to Lahaina town
And wonders why they call it paradise

Those slack-key bands still play old island songs
Like Gabby Pahinui used to play
The old tiki bar is still the same and it feels like home
Those memories just never fade away
No, those memories are here to stay

Dance With The Moon And You (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#711)

Tonight’s the night to dance with the moon
And let the stars get in your eyes
Tonight’s the night to make romance
Under heavenly island skies

The palm tree branches up there so tall
Sway to the tradewinds that blow
And I hear it whisper that lover’s call
As the music plays sweet and slow

I want to have just one more dance with the moon and you
I just want to have some more romance with the moon and you

I just want to dance with the moon and you tonight
We can dance ’til the morning comes
We both know the time is finally right
For a little romance before the dawn

My arms here are for you waiting
To show you love like you’ve never known
And soon there’ll be no more delaying
When I ask you to be my own

I want to have just one more dance with the moon and you
I just want to have some more romance with the moon and you
I just want your love to be my own

You All Over My Mind (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#712)

With the stars overhead
And you all over my mind
I will lay down in clover, lay down in clover
With the stars overhead
And you all over my mind

My dreams seem more empty now
Than they ever did
I thought time would heal every scar
But here they are
I wish I could just wish on a star

The stars are all out and my dreams have all gone out too
The stars will come again but what about my dreams

My dreams seem more empty now
Than they ever did
I thought time would heal every scar
But here they are
I wish I could just wish on a star

With the stars overhead
And you all over my mind
I will lay down in clover, lay down in clover
With the stars overhead
And you all over my mind

What The stars All Say (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#713)

Today I have no sorrow
Because your love is here to stay
My love will be the same tomorrow
That’s what the stars all say

Today I have no sadness
I just love you more each day
Tomorrow will be filled with gladness
I know this dream won’t fade away

With the love you show I don’t have to ask every day
It’s the kind I know is here to stay

But I know that every day you need to hear
How much every day I love you, dear
So, to keep you from knowing sorrow
I’ll love you today just as I’ll love you tomorrow

Today I have no sorrow
Because your love is here to stay
My love will be the same tomorrow
That’s what the stars all say
My love will be the same tomorrow
That’s what the stars all say

Tramp Freighter Line (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#714)

Every time I hear that tramp freighter whistle blow
I think about where it’s been and I know I’ve gotta go

I get the salty dog blues every time
Goin’ where the weather fits just fine
On that south pacific tramp freighter line
On that south pacific tramp freighter line

I read about the southern islands where the girls are fine
On the other side of the international dating line

I get the salty dog blues every time
Goin’ where the weather fits just fine
On that south pacific tramp freighter line
On that south pacific tramp freighter line

I’ll be there where the big full moon is shining
And where all the dreams have a silver lining

I get the salty dog blues every time
Goin’ where the weather fits just fine
On that south pacific tramp freighter line
On that south pacific tramp freighter line

Gonna tramp on down the line, where the weather fits just fine
Cross the international dating line, where the girls are all so fine
South pacific tramp freighter line
South pacific tramp freighter line

Old Island Songs (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#715)

I searched for songs with an old time ring
Seems those today are just about the pain life brings
I looked from the mainland to the island valley floor
Searching for old island songs of yore
Searching for old island songs of yore

From a cottage I saw a tiki torch shine
I walked down the beach looking for a sign
But all I could hear were the waves that roar
Searching for old island songs of yore
Searching for old island songs of yore

But then I felt the tradewinds blow
There on the winds whispered sweet and low
Songs of old Hawaii sweet as honey pours
A symphony of island songs of yore
A symphony of island songs of yore

I met a girl whose hair was long and black
She was singing there in a grass roofed shack
She asked if I wanted to hear some more
She was singing old island songs of yore
She was singing old island songs of yore

Tonight I feel the warm wind on my back
I sing old songs with the girl whose hair is black
This new love is what I was searching for
We sing old island songs of yore
We sing old island songs of yore

Maui Mystery Ship (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#716)

Here comes a ship a-sailin’, a ship a-sailin’
See them sails a-flyin’, Here comes a ship a-sailin’
Hear that ship bell a-clangin’, that ship bell a-clangin’
Wonder where she’s a-rangin’, Hear that ship bell a-clangin’

I’ll see her at the dock, see her at the dock
Set that maritime clock, I’ll see her at the dock
I sure would like to sail ‘er, sure would like to sail ‘er
Wonder if she’s a whaler, I sure would like to sail ‘er

I see she didn’t even stop, she didn’t even stop
That ship wasn’t at the dock, I see she didn’t even stop
I wonder why she didn’t anchor, wonder why she didn’t anchor
Is she a whale oil tanker, I wonder why she didn’t anchor

She’s a mystery ship from Maui, a mystery ship from Maui
The captain he’s from Hawaii, She’s a mystery ship from Maui
She just sails over the ocean, just sails over the ocean
She just raises my emotion, She just sails over the ocean

There goes a mystery ship a-sailin’, a mystery ship a-sailin’
See them sails a-flyin’, There goes a mystery ship a-sailin’

Four Steps To Paradise (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#717)

I finally figured it out
What paradise is all about
It’s only four thousand miles away
And four steps to a brighter day

Step one is when you leave Texas for Hawaii
Step two is when you find that girl by the sea
Step three is when your dreams come truly true
Step four is you and her forever in Hawaii blue

The recipe for paradise is not a mystery
Just multiply a thousand miles by four
So, if life and love just does not agree
Just do the Texas four-step out the door

Step one is when you leave Texas for Hawaii
Step two is when you find that girl by the sea
Step three is when your dreams come truly true
Step four is you and her forever in Hawaii blue

Just multiply a thousand miles by four

Lookin’ For Fun In Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#718)

Slow down, life is too short
You’ve got the time to make the port
Crusin’ down to the island sands
Lookin’ for fun in Hawaii

Aloha palm trees
Tradewinds a-blowin’
Island flowers and rainbows a-showin’
A pina colada is fine with me
Just you and me
In blue Hawaii

Got some books to read
No time clock to keep
We’ll stroll the beach down at Waikiki
In the mornin’ sun we’ll have some Kona coffee
Hawaii, I love you
And Waikiki

Slow down, life is too short
You’ve got the time to make the port
Crusin’ down to the island sands
Lookin’ for fun in Hawaii

Now That She’s Gone (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#719)

Well, the sunshine came but she was gone
It’s not the same tropic sun as yesterday
Yeah, they played island love songs but she was gone
The songs of island love didn’t last as long
I wonder if she’s gone to stay

She was here yesterday but I don’t think she’s gone to Maui
I wonder if she still wants to see me
Well, the sunshine came but she was gone
And I guess this island won’t be my home
Now that she’s gone

The sunshine came but she was gone
Island love songs didn’t last as long
Not the same tropic sun as yesterday
The sunshine came but she was gone
And I guess this island won’t be my home
Now that she’s gone

Well, the sunshine came but she was gone
It’s not the same tropic sun as yesterday
Yeah, they played island love songs but she was gone
The songs of island love didn’t last as long
I wonder if she’s gone to stay

A Paradise Domain (Larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#720)

O, beautiful for tropic skies
For fields green from island rain
For Mauna Kea mountain’s majesty
A paradise domain
Hawaii, Hawaii
The moon shines on your sea
And Aloha there is everywhere
In isles for you and me

O, beautiful your island dreams
Your rainbows there bring cheer
Valleys flow with quiet streams
Unchanged throughout the years
Hawaii, Hawaii
The moon shines on your sea
And Aloha there is everywhere
In isles for you and me

Salty Shoe Blues (larry W. Jones 12/18/2002) (song#721)

I’ve sailed a million leagues across the seas
But I never reached that island shore
I always thought dreams would come to me
But now my dreams have sailed forevermore

I’m feeling like an old salty pair of shoes
And by now I’m a little too salty too
There’s a break in my heart
And my dreams are coming apart
Like an old salty pair of shoes

I left her back on that island of love
A million leagues across the seas
But she’s still the dream I’m dreaming of
I doubt if I’ll ever see her again, because you see

I’m feeling like an old salty pair of shoes
And by now I’m a little too salty too
There’s a break in my heart
And my dreams are coming apart
Like an old salty pair of shoes

There’s a break in my heart
And my dreams are coming apart
Like an old salty pair of shoes

Not A Part Of You (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#722)

I still have the memories of big events
Like strolling down the beaches where we went
It’s not the same here in Hawaii blue
Because now I’m not a part of you

I still have the flower lei from your hair
It’s wilted now but I don’t care
It still has the fragrance that I knew
And it was once a part of you

Although my heart is broken half in two
Both parts are still in love with only you
You’re deep inside and I only wish I knew
How to live apart from you

There’s no real reason I can give
For why somewhere else you went to live
But I know why my dreams are blue
Because now I’m not a part of you

I still have the memories of big events
Like strolling down the beaches where we went
It’s not the same here in Hawaii blue
Because now I’m not a part of you

Never Tired Of You (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#723)

I’ll never be tired of you, darling
I really meant those words I said
The ones that said I want you forever
The ones I spoke the day we wed

I tell you, if I could live life over
I could never want another wife
I’ll never be tired of you, darling
Here in this island paradise

I remember it was in the springtime
When in Hawaii we first met
We both loved to hear those Maui chimes
Island songs of love we won’t forget

I tell you, if I could live life over
I could never want another wife
I’ll never be tired of you, darling
Here in this island paradise

Those fragrant flower leis sure did their part
And that red hibiscus in your hair
You will be always in my heart
Here in this paradise so fair

I tell you, if I could live life over
I could never want another wife
I’ll never be tired of you, darling
Here in this island paradise

Anchored With A Song (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#724)

It’s about time an island came along
I was just a part of the drifting stream
Now my life is anchored with a song
I found my island and my dream

Oh, dreams came true at last
The skies above are blue
I’m not just an old outcast
Today I just found you

I found a dream that didn’t fade away
An island love that I can call my own
I climbed a hill, I found a sugar mill
You’re the sweetest girl I’ve ever known

And when you smile, all polynesia smiles
I’m not just another castaway
Now here we are in paradise
You made the rainbows smile today

It’s about time an island came along
I was just a part of the drifting stream
Now my life is anchored with a song
I found my island and my dream
Now my life is anchored with a song
I found my island and my dream

Bring Back My Rainbow (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#725)

The rainbow’s gone
And with it went the pot of gold
There were dreams here I was told
Like the pot of gold
Your love is just a memory
The rainbow’s gone just like the golden lies you told to me

I took you at your word
We had one another
But there were some I hadn’t heard
You went back to your mother

I’m still in the dark, eaten by a shark
But I’m still holding on
Hoping you’ll come home
And bring back my rainbow with a pot of gold
Your love that I can really hold

The rainbow’s gone
And with it went the pot of gold
There were dreams here I was told
Like the pot of gold
Your love is just a memory
The rainbow’s gone just like the golden lies you told to me

I’m still in the dark, eaten by a shark
But I’m still holding on
Hoping you’ll come home
And bring back my rainbow with a pot of gold
Your love that I can really hold

But I’m still holding on
Hoping you’ll come home
And bring back my rainbow with a pot of gold
Your love that I can really hold
Your love that I can really hold

In Blue Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#726)

I feel so bad about that girl of mine
I miss those lovely Maui chimes
Since I left that girl behind in Blue Hawaii

Music trickles, Maui chimes
Going where the sun still shines
Sailing back to hear Maui chimes in Blue Hawaii

I’m sailing back someday, there to stay in Blue Hawaii
Where you live Aloha way by the peaceful bay in Blue Hawaii
And those music notes that island guitars wrote, if only I could hear
Those familiar times like Maui chimes, sweet to my ear

I’m gonna see that girl again
Play slack-key guitar with my friends
Hear Maui chimes again in Blue Hawaii

I’m sailing back someday, there to stay in Blue Hawaii
Where you live Aloha way by the peaceful bay in Blue Hawaii
And that girl of mine playing Maui chimes, yellow moon and the ebbing tide
Hear what I say, down by the bay is where I’ll reside
She’ll be there too, my dreams renewed
In Blue Hawaii

Time To Say Aloha (larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#727)

Adios, big mainland, time to say Aloha bye
I’m headed for those sunny isles
Underneath that deep blue sky
Think I’ll take a cruise out west, visit Hawaii
And see if Leilani still remembers me

I’m gonna cruise the oceans blue and leave this mainland town
Before too long I’ll be gone, to old Lahaina town
Forget about the silver bird, I’ve got time, it just occured
That I just need some time on the ocean blue

Adios to my delusions, it’s too fast around this town
I’ll just tell the boss goodbye and tell myself to settle down
I’ve got some money saved just for this very day
Those tropic isles will make me smile down by that deep blue bay

I’m gonna cruise the oceans blue and leave this mainland town
Before too long I’ll be gone, to old Lahaina town
Forget about the silver bird, I’ve got time, it just occured
That I just need some time on the ocean blue

Adios, big mainland, time to say Aloha bye
I’m headed for those sunny isles
Underneath that deep blue sky
Think I’ll take a cruise out west, visit Hawaii
And see if Leilani still remembers me
Think I’ll take a cruise out west, visit Hawaii
And see if Leilani still remembers me

Deep Blue Ocean (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#728)

Deep blue ocean, there’s at least seven that I know
You can float your lonely dreams where the cold winds blow
You can fill the deep blue ocean with your tears
Along the stream of heartache through the years

Deep blue ocean, you’re filled with all my pain
Deep blue ocean, you’re just reflecting dreams I knew
Deep blue ocean, my love for her was all in vain
So, float my broken dreams upon your ocean blue

I remember when I held her tight
Our love just felt so right
She was my devotion, all of my emotion
But now my heart is sinking low, deep as your blue ocean

Deep blue ocean, there’s at least seven that I know
You can float your lonely dreams where the cold winds blow
You can fill the deep blue ocean with your tears
Along the stream of heartache through the years

Deep blue ocean, you’re filled with all my pain
Deep blue ocean, you’re just reflecting dreams I knew
Deep blue ocean, my love for her was all in vain
So, float my broken dreams upon your ocean blue

Like A Lovely Island Song (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#729)

The tradewinds blew a dream my way
Leilani’s here so here I’ll stay
She asked if I knew a place down by the bay
And I said yes I do

Now we live in old Lahaina by the sea
Old Lahaina town is new to me
But now my lonesome past has been set free
Where the tradewinds blow

Here in Hawaii blue I love her so
Leilani loves me too, I know
Our love is like a big rainbow
Painted in the sky

Loving her is fresh as dew at dawn
She’s like a lovely island song
The feeling in my heart just lingers on
I don’t have to wonder why

Now we live in old Lahaina by the sea
Old Lahaina town is new to me
But now my lonesome past has been set free
Where the tradewinds blow

The feeling in my heart just lingers on
I don’t have to wonder why
Loving her is fresh as dew at dawn
She’s like a lovely island song
Loving her is fresh as dew at dawn
She’s like a lovely island song

Hula Hula Boogie (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#730)

Down on the island where the girls are all so fine
There’s a little seaside bar by the high tide line
It’s the talk of the town when the sun goes down
Island girls with smiles like pearls and a little doggie
That’s where island folks go to do the hula hula boogie

When I get off my job I just call my island honey
We stroll down the beach to that bar to spend some money
When the sun goes down they light the tiki torches
Tune up the steel guitars, the ukuleles and feed the doggie
Down by the high tide line where we all do the hula hula boogie

Now, hips sway, arms wave, formula for the hula hula boogie
Grass shack, come on back, guitar keys are slack for the hula boogie
Now turn around, arms down, hips swayin’ to the hula hula boogie

Down on the island where the girls are all so fine
There’s a little seaside bar by the high tide line
It’s the talk of the town when the sun goes down
Island girls with smiles like pearls, and a little doggie
That’s where island folks go to do the hula hula boogie

Now, hips sway, arms wave, formula for the hula hula boogie
Grass shack, come on back, guitar keys are slack for the hula boogie
Now turn around, arms down, hips swayin’ to the hula hula boogie
There’s a little seaside bar by the high tide line
That’s where island folks go to do the hula hula boogie

Spurs And Boots From Texas (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#731)

Today I’m sailing back to my true, true love
I’m leaving on a ship this very morning
I’ll bring her something I’ve been thinking of
From the land where I’ve been sojourning

I know she would like something so, so nice
Even though she lives in paradise
There are cowboys on islands in the sea so vast
I’ll bring some brand new spurs and boots from Texas

I’ve been gone such a long, long time
I know it’s only love she’s asking
But I want to bring her something so, so fine
To the island where in the sun she’s basking

There are cowboys on islands in the sea so vast
I’ll bring some brand new spurs and boots from Texas
Today I’m sailing back to my true, true love
Bringing spurs and boots and the love she’s asking
Today I’m sailing back to my true, true love
Bringing spurs and boots and the love she’s asking

Tradewinds Of Love (Larry W. Jones 12/19/2002) (song#732)

Tradewinds, blowing where who knows, only the winds know
Tradewinds bring love to my heart

Islands, tradewinds have found you, love is around you
Wherever you are

Islands, seas may divide you, but love, it will find you
On tradewinds and tide

Tradewinds, it’s love you are giving, my dreams are now living
On tradewinds of love

Tradewinds, blowing where who knows, only the winds know
Tradewinds bring love to my heart

Islands, tradewinds have found you, love is around you
Wherever you are

Islands, seas may divide you, but love, it will find you
On tradewinds and tide

Tradewinds, it’s love you are giving, my dreams are now living
On tradewinds of love

High Tide Of The Isle (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#733)

From the deep end of the ocean
Back to the high tide of the isle
We’ll renew our local motion
At the high tide of the isle

Island baby, come to me
Help me make my time worthwhile
From the deep end of the ocean
Back to the high tide of the isle

Sometimes this old life gets too fast
Sometimes the love we have gets gone
This time, baby let’s make it last
Here on the isle where we belong

Let’s paint some rainbows in the sky
Let me wipe those tears from your eyes
From the deep end of the ocean
Back to the high tide of the isle

From the deep end of the ocean
Back to the high tide of the isle
We’ll renew our local motion
At the high tide of the isle
At the high tide of the isle

Old Island Song Of Love (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#734)

Feel the tradewind breeze on a summer’s eve
See the stars come out at night
Feel the love that islands weave
The love we have is right

Hear that island song in the back of your mind
Sounds like Maui chimes and nursery rhymes
Play a slack-key guitar and tap the floor
It’s an old island song of yore

Hear the cruise ship whistle in the night
Sounds like the tourists are here for love
You’re my island girl, this boy’s delight
It’s an old island song of love

Feel the tradewind breeze on a summer’s eve
See the stars come out at night
Feel the love that islands weave
The love we have is right

Hear the cruise ship whistle in the night
Sounds like the tourists are here for love
You’re my island girl, this boy’s delight
It’s an old island song of love

Sailing The Horizon (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#735)

A young sailor is a lad made to ramble
The oceans wide to roam
Feel the salt air in his hair
But never find the peace of home

Shiver in the ice of the arctic winds
And bask in the warm island sun
Sailing the horizon for dreams that fly
Til his sailing days are all done

The love of an island girl
In the darkness of the night
How can love grow, reap what you sow
You know it just ain’t right

He will close his eyes to all his lies
And wish that she’s still near
As he sails away from paradise
He can’t hold back the tears

Well, I’ve felt the salty wind in my hair
And I left the island girl there to cry
Searching for the answers that just aren’t there
Sailing the horizon for dreams that fly
Sailing the horizon for dreams that fly
Sailing the horizon for dreams that fly

Love By The Rule (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#736)

Strolling down the beach under stars above
I counted all the stars and told them of our love
My blessings too I counted up from number one
I ran out of fingers so I started over til I was done

Love is like a study hall and I just started school
I like the way you make me do it over by the rule
I like the way we plan our love and work our plan
I plan to be your island man and follow the golden rule

The sun arrives each morning to start the day anew
Every day I find a new way to say that I love you
I plan to make you happy and see you always smile
I plan to love you by the rule on this tropic isle

Love is like a study hall and I just started school
I like the way you make me do it over by the rule
I plan to make you happy and see you always smile
I plan to love you by the rule on this tropic isle

Tropic Island Songs (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#737)

On a tropic island we’ll spend our days
Islands in the stream just float along
Dreams brought us here, so here we’ll stay
On a tropic island singing island songs

The pace of life is slowing down
This is where the tradewinds blow
The moon comes up when the sun goes down
Our love is gonna grow

On a tropic island that floats along
We’ll sing tropic island songs
I’m glad I’m on this island with you
Dreams come true in Hawaii blue

On a tropic island we’ll spend our days
Islands in the stream just float along
Dreams brought us here, so here we’ll stay
On a tropic island singing island songs
Dreams brought us here, so here we’ll stay
On a tropic island singing island songs

Billy The Whaler (Larry W. Jones 12/20/2002) (song#738)

I’m an old salt and Billy is my name
My daddy was sailor and his was the same
I’ll tell you a story and I swear it’s true
I was born in Lahaina in Hawaii blue

I was five years old when I first went to sea
I was born with a harpoon in my hand you see
Billy was my daddy and my daddy showed me
How to harpoon whales in the arctic seas

I married me a girl in old Lahaina too
She could dance the hula and paddle canoes
She could cook up fish with rice and poi
She knew how to please an island boy

I can climb the mast of any ship afloat
I can spot whales and holler thar she blows
Billy was my daddy and my daddy showed me
How to harpoon whales in the arctic seas

Well it looks like a typhoon kind of day
I’ve been through storms that’ll make you pray
Batten down the hatches and howl at the moon
We’ll drink some rum and sing island tunes

Luau Hula Lei (Larry W. Jones 12/22/2002) (song#739)

What good are islands, if you’re a lonely tree
Come and hear the ukuleles play
Come to the luau by the sea
Come wear my luau hula lei

Put away your frettin’, it’s time for forgettin’
It looks like a luau day
In the luau pit the kalua pig they’re settin’
Come wear my luau hula lei

Come and feel the sand, hear the ukulele band
It’s time for celebratin’, no more delayin’
Live life the Hawaiian way
Come wear my luau hula lei

Look at the tropic moon, see the lovers swoon
See the luau hula dancers sway
You and I could fall in love real soon
Come wear my luau hula lei

Come and feel the sand, hear the ukulele band
It’s time for celebratin’, no more delayin’
Live life the Hawaiian way
Come wear my luau hula lei

Look at the tropic moon, see the lovers swoon
See the luau hula dancers sway
You and I could fall in love real soon
Come wear my luau hula lei

Dreaming In May (Larry W. Jones 12/22/2002) (song#740)

The palm trees are green and the sky is blue
I was strolling the beach without my shoes
I was so alone until that day
Hawaiian dreaming in the month of May

I stopped in a cafe I passed in Waikiki
Don’t know what it was, maybe the tradewind breeze
Something told me to see if she
Would be the dream come true for me

The sky is blue and the palm trees are green
She was the prettiest girl I had ever seen
All I said was Aloha, like Hawaiians say
My dream came true in the month of May

I stopped in a cafe I passed in Waikiki
Don’t know what it was, maybe the tradewind breeze
Something told me to see if she
Would be the dream come true for me

The sky is blue and the palm trees are green
She was the prettiest girl I had ever seen
All I said was Aloha, like Hawaiians say
My dream came true in the month of May
All I said was Aloha, like Hawaiians say
My dream came true in the month of May

Look Real Hard (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#741)

Look real hard and you will see
That time and change has come to me
I’m afraid this may be the end of island days
I’m see dreams in paradise slowly fade away

It sounds like the same old story
Love came my way and stayed but for a day
She was fresh as a morning glory
But island flowers come and flowers fade away

But don’t you know that I still love her
Here on this island thinking of her
Hawaii’s calling and my heart’s crying too
Look real hard and you’ll see that I love you

I never thought our love would be in danger
I never knew that she would be a stranger
That lovely island girl was everything
Now love songs are played with a broken string

Look real hard into the fire that’s on the shore
The flame of love isn’t seen there any more
But there’s something there that’s burned and charred
You’ll see an island dream if you look real hard

I never thought our love would be in danger
I never knew that she would be a stranger
That lovely island girl was everything
Now love songs are played with a broken string

But don’t you know that I still love her
Here on this island thinking of her
Hawaii’s calling and my heart’s crying too
Look real hard and you’ll see that I love you

The Place To Be (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#742)

Hawaii is the place to be
It’s more than just an isle to me
A paradise out in the sea
Ukuleles play in Hawaii

Hawaii is where the breakers roll
Play football in the hula bowl
Sing island songs in Waikiki
And dance the hula by the sea

Hawaii is the place to be
Rainbows seem to smile for me
A paradise out in the sea
Steel guitars play in Hawaii

Sails are red when the sun has set
Polynesian girls there I have met
Long black hair in Hawaii blue
I kinda like the way they smile at you

Hawaii is the place to be
It’s more than just an isle to me
A paradise out in the sea
Ukuleles play in Hawaii

A paradise out in the sea
Steel guitars play in Hawaii
Rainbows seem to smile for me
Hawaii is the place to be
Hawaii is the place to be

Dreams To Retire On (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#743)

It seems like a long old time ago
Where I would retire I didn’t know
I looked out my window and then I knew
There were warmer places as the blizzard blew

Golden Hawaiian sunset
Painting skies in oceans west
All the colors seem to say
Aloha for now til another day is blessed

Isles of beauty, moon and stars at night
Isles of dreams, lovers swoon in it’s delight
Hawaii called to me and now it’s true
Dreams of the islands do come true

Golden Hawaiian sunset
Painting skies in oceans west
All the colors seem to say
Aloha for now til another day is blessed

Isles of beauty, moon and stars at night
Isles of dreams, lovers swoon in it’s delight
Hawaii called to me and now it’s true
Dreams of the islands do come true
Hawaii called to me and now it’s true
Dreams of the islands do come true

On The Coconut Wireless (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#744)

Well, I guess she had her eyes
On another place called paradise
She put her silver wings in motion
To those islands in the deep blue ocean

Calling Hawaii on the coconut wireless
She’s in Honolulu or Waikiki I guess
Hawaii calling, I missed that call again
Hawaii is the place I should have been

She didn’t leave a number I could call
Word of mouth says she’s having quite a ball
Calling Hawaii on the coconut wireless
Get me there any way you can regardless

She said she would call me in due time
I guess she ran out of all her dimes
I’ll have to get in touch with her I guess
By word of mouth on the coconut wireless

Calling Hawaii on the coconut wireless
She’s in Honolulu or Waikiki I guess
Hawaii calling, I missed that call again
Hawaii is the place I should have been

She said she would call me in due time
I guess she ran out of all her dimes
I’ll have to get in touch with her I guess
By word of mouth on the coconut wireless
I’ll have to get in touch with her I guess
By word of mouth on the coconut wireless

Island Tradewind Breeze (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#745)

Well, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Blowin’ over the ocean
Yes, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Goin’ with the motion

There’s no change in this heart of mine
But change is in the weather
There’s no change in this love of mine
So why aren’t we together

Well, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Goin’ where you please
Yes, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Love blowin’ out to sea

There’s no hidin’ the hurt in this heart of mine
I hope you’re doin’ fine
You were a dream I can no longer see
Just like the tradewind breeze

I keep walking down these island roads
My heart carries a heavy load
Bring back your love I beg you please
On the island tradewind breeze

Well, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Goin’ where you please
Yes, you’re just like the tradewind breeze
Love blowin’ out to sea

I keep walking down these island roads
My heart carries a heavy load
Bring back your love I beg you please
On the island tradewind breeze

When Only Rainbows (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#746)

There was a time in islands fair
When only rainbows filled the air
When Mauna Kea’s snows began
High above tropic seas and sand

Long before the long canoes and man
Landed on the shores with dreams and plans
When mountain streams flowed cleanly to the sea
When sandy beaches knew only tall palm trees

But after time began and men soon found
There were isles of paradise in seas profound
With their canoes thay came to look around
And with dreams they began to settle down

They took good care of the land
There was a time in islands fair
When they lived and loved and planned
And spread Aloha in the land and in the air

But now skyscrapers are everywhere
Where only rainbows once filled the air
The streams still flow but you can’t drink free
Dreams of long ago seem to sink into the sea

Man’s plans have turned into just their schemes
To hear the money into bottomless pockets ring
Don’t worry about the mountains, streams and paradise
Well, maybe we should all think about it twice

There was a time in islands fair
When only rainbows filled the air
When Mauna Kea’s snows began
High above tropic seas and sand

Long before the long canoes and man
Landed on the shores with dreams and plans
When mountain streams flowed cleanly to the sea
When sandy beaches knew only tall palm trees
There was a time in islands fair
When only rainbows filled the air

Heavenly Island Rose (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#747)

Now that the time is here at hand
Go ahead and take love by the hand
Just give it a little time to grow
Islands may bring a heavenly rose

You don’t have to have a reason
Island love can come in any season
All you have to ask is please
To find love on the tradewind breeze

And when you find that one who’s right
Don’t waste another starry night
Just hold her close and treat her right
Hold onto your dream with all your might

I listen to the tradewind whisper her name to me
Leilani is the girl, the dream I clearly see
Heavenly flower is her name, where the tradewind blows
Leilani is her name, my heavenly island rose

Now that the time is here at hand
Go ahead and take love by the hand
Just give it a little time to grow
Islands may bring a heavenly rose

I listen to the tradewind whisper her name to me
Leilani is the girl, the dream I clearly see
Heavenly flower is her name, where the tradewind blows
Leilani is her name, my heavenly island rose
Leilani is her name, my heavenly island rose

The Island Girl For Me (Larry W. Jones 12/24/2002) (song#748)

You know you’re the island girl for me
You’re just as sweet as you can be
Here in Hawaii dreams come true
That’s all I have to ask from you

You know when you’re strolling in the sand
You look so brown and tall and tan
I don’t believe I’ve seen such a dream before
As when you went strolling down the shore

It must be very plain to see
That my heart has fallen at your feet
Would you like to come with me tonight
Dance with a dream in the full moonlight

Bees make honey and honey’s sweet
Hawaii makes dreams so doggone neat
You know you’re the island girl for me
You’re just as sweet as you can be

You know when you’re strolling in the sand
You look so brown and tall and tan
I don’t believe I’ve seen such a dream before
As when you went strolling down the shore

Bees make honey and honey’s sweet
Hawaii makes dreams so doggone neat
You know you’re the island girl for me
You’re just as sweet as you can be
You know you’re the island girl for me
You’re just as sweet as you can be

In My Mind And Heart (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#749)

I’ve never been as happy
As my happy is today
My world just came together
As I watched you come my way
There’s something here between us
Love has a brand new start
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart

I saw your fleeting smile
On the warm side of the isle
Strolling through the sand
I smiled back at you, and
Tradewinds caused the embers
Into flames of love to start
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart

If I could I would thank the breeze
For bringing dreams just in time
Love was just a far off memory
Until I saw your smile so kind
I’m happy just to make your love mine
My whole life has a brand new start
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart

I saw your fleeting smile
On the warm side of the isle
Strolling through the sand
I smiled back at you, and
Tradewinds caused the embers
Into flames of love to start
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart

Tradewinds caused the embers
Into flames of love to start
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart
I’ve got you in my mind
And I’ll hold you in my heart

Honey Of Island Love (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#750)

Bring my island love, love
Bring my island love

I’ll make her heart go zing and then I’ll treat her right
I’ll sing her island songs and then I’ll light her light
Because her love is sweet as honey, honey of island love

I hear the tradewinds softly call her name out from the blue
I’ve got a lot of love to give her in Hawaii too
Because her love is sweet as honey, honey of island love

Bring my island love, love
Bring my island love

I’ll even make her heart strings sing when I hold her tight
I know I’ll dream sweet dreams of her when we dance in soft moonlight
Because her love is sweet as honey, honey of island love
I know I’ll dream sweet dreams of her when we dance in soft moonlight
Because her love is sweet as honey, honey of island love

Really Bad Rum (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#751)

Well, it was nighttime on the water
I saw a pretty mermaid’s daughter
Through waves swimming to me she came
I heard her calling out my name

Now I can’t get her out of my head
I just toss and turn in my bed
Sometimes I wonder if I’m dead
I guess that rum was really bad
And I can’t get her out of my head

Well, my ship’s anchored in the harbor
I’m still in love with that mermaid’s daughter
Every night it’s still the same
I hear her calling out my name

Now I can’t get her out of my head
I just toss and turn in my bed
Sometimes I wonder if I’m dead
I guess that rum was really bad
And I can’t get her out of my head

I’m lookin’ at the pearls here that I bought her
I wonder if they’ll fit that mermaid’s daughter
Every night the dream comes back the same
I hear her calling out my name

Now I can’t get her out of my head
I just toss and turn in my bed
Sometimes I wonder if I’m dead
I guess that rum was really bad
And I can’t get her out of my head

I saw a pretty mermaid’s daughter
I’m in love with that mermaid’s daughter
I can’t get her out of my head
I guess that rum was really bad
I guess that rum was really bad

Standing In The Shadows (larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#752)

I feel like I’m standing in the shadows
Of the dream I thought was me
The man in that dream is looking
From the shadows straight at me

I want back in that dream so bad
To find that lovely girl I thought I had
But the man in the dream just said
That island girl in this dream has fled

I feel like I’m standing in the shadows
Of the dream I thought was me
The man in that dream is looking
From the shadows straight at me

I still hear those island melodies
That steel guitars and ukuleles made
They’re just songs of sorrow sounding deep
From shadows of the dream that make me weep

She was a weaver of dreams and lies
I live in the shadow of her sighs
I see the man in the dream begin to cry
As I wipe away the tears from my eyes

I feel like I’m standing in the shadows
Of the dream I thought was me
The man in that dream is looking
From the shadows straight at me
I see the man in the dream begin to cry
As I wipe away the tears from my eyes

When I Sail Home (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#753)

It’s a deep and frigid ocean
The ship rides waves in constant motion
And the sailors ain’t the best of kind
Some are good but some are blind
I’ve sailed the best ships of the line
And I’ve always got islands on my mind

When I sail home I’m always bound
I’m always bound
To old Maui and old Lahaina town
When I sail home I’m always bound
To old Maui and old Lahaina town

I’ve been sailing over oceans
Sailin’ the best I can
Tryin’ to find a dream or notion
Wonderin’ if she’s dreaming for her man
When I’m done with sailin’ and if I don’t drown
I’ll head for home and then I’ll take these sails all down

It’s a deep and frigid ocean
The ship rides waves in constant motion
And the sailors ain’t the best of kind
When I get back I’ll no more roam
I’ve got a sweet woman waiting for me back home
Back in old Lahaina in that tropic zone

When I sail home I’m always bound
I’m always bound
To old Maui and old Lahaina town
When I sail home I’m always bound
To old Maui and old Lahaina town

Take My Foolish Dreams (larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#754)

Wise men on islands say
Fools rush to islands every day
So here I am just like a fool
I’m falling fast in love with you

I hear island violins
Maybe I’m a fool for rushing in
But wise men don’t let love show
They never fall in love you know

So here I am just like a fool
I’m falling fast in love with you
Wise men on islands say
Fools rush to islands every day

To an island in the stream of time
Love flows like a river of sweet sweet wine
So here I am just like a fool
I’m falling fast in love with you

Take my heart and save my life
Take my love and be my wife
Take my foolish dreams to your heart too
I’m falling fast in love with you

Take my heart and save my life
Take my love and be my wife
Take my foolish dreams to your heart too
I’m falling fast in love with you

Tiki Torch Fire (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#755)

I got your letter the other day
I read between the lines what you had to say
Your message started with words so dear
I’m glad you’re winging your way out here

If I said I didn’t love you I would be a liar
My dreams of you fills every desire
So I’ll relight this tiki torch of love with fire
Tiki torch of love with fire
Tiki torch of love with fire

I don’t know what took you so long
You were out of sight of my island home
Have you been staring out at the rain
I’ve been holding back tears and pain

When you left I couldn’t understand
Why you would leave this island and your man
I’m glad you’re headed back in island love attire
So I’ll relight this tiki torch of love with fire
Tiki torch of love with fire

Islands are quiet when love’s not around
Breaking hearts are drowned by waves crashing sounds
And the thing I remember is your going away
Those memories come back every night and day

But I always knew that our love would never die
My dreams of you fills every desire
So I’ll relight this tiki torch of love with fire
Tiki torch of love with fire
Tiki torch of love with fire

I Smile Because Of You (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#756)

I smile because of you
I smile because it’s true
I even dream in my sleep
I tell everyone I meet

I smile when you smile
Rainbow of the tropic isle
I’m glad your love is true
I smile because of you

A dream came along like an island song
Rainbows painted my day

I sing because of you
I sing because it’s true
I hear songs in my sleep
I sing to everyone I meet

A dream came along like an island song
Rainbows painted my day
You’re the dream that came to stay
You were just a dream away

I smile because of you
I smile because it’s true
I even dream in my sleep
I tell everyone I meet

I smile when you smile
Rainbow of the tropic isle
I’m glad your love is true
I smile because of you

Ebbtide Love (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#757)

The tide is ebbing at the end of day
The roll of the waves will now dissipate
What an enchanting time for lovers too
This is the time when I’m quietly in love with you

Just feel the mana of island love
Down by the sea
It’s enough to make a sailor think of
What love really means
Just feel the mana of island love
How the ebbtide gently flows
It’s enough to make the hand fit the glove
Like our love surely knows

Ebbtide is the time to forget concerns
The rolling of the waves no longer churns
Listen to the song as island lovers do
The one that says that I’m so in love with you

The tide is ebbing at the end of day
The roll of the waves will now dissipate
What an enchanting time for lovers too
This is the time when I’m quietly in love with you

You Strike Up The Band (larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#758)

I don’t drink my liquid to the max
Don’t chase impossible dreams down the tracks
And my feet are firmly in the island sand
But when you appear, you strike up the band

You look like you just arrived from paradise
Are those tropic stars there in your eyes
My dreams get switched to the fast lane of the tracks
My heart beats like the sound of island drums coming back

This is just a routine island night
A million stars and a moon up there so bright
When I see you strolling down the island sand
Yes, when you appear, you strike up the band

You look like you just arrived from paradise
Are those tropic stars there in your eyes
My dreams get switched to the fast lane of the tracks
My heart beats like the sound of island drums coming back

This is just a routine island night
A million stars and a moon up there so bright
When I see you strolling down the island sand
Yes, when you appear, you strike up the band

This is just a routine island night
A million stars and a moon up there so bright
When I see you strolling down the island sand
Yes, when you appear, you strike up the band

Sailor’s Sack Of Dreams (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#759)

Well darling, I’ve got this worn out sailor’s sack
Everything else I’m wearing on my back
I’ve packed away my love and dreams of you
I’ll be sailing back come June

I’ll be sailing over seas to other shores
I’ve packed away my love and dreams of you
I’ll sail from Maui down to Singapore
Packing my love and dreams of you

Your love will help to sail along
Every fortnight that I’m gone
I’ll be sailing back come June
I’ve packed away my love and dreams of you

On the lonely oceans in the storms
I just unpack a dream of you
Your love is what will keep me warm
I’ve packed my love and dreams of you

Well darling, I’ve got this worn out sailor’s sack
Everything else I’m wearing on my back
I’ve packed away my love and dreams of you
I’ll be sailing back come June

Your love will help to sail along
Every fortnight that I’m gone
I’ll be sailing back come June
I’ve packed away my love and dreams of you

Burn Like Tropic Fire (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#760)

I’m sure there’s an answer, it’s just that I don’t know
Why she had to leave, why she had to go
We loved and laughed, laughed and loved and cried
Why did she leave our happy isle

When I see my friends I just pretend
That the tears aren’t likely to begin
But this island love will likely start
To burn like tropic fire within my heart

I feel like an island in the stream
Alone with myself and with this dream
I’m sure there’s an answer, it’s just that I don’t know
Why she had to leave, why she had to go

When I see my friends I just pretend
That the tears aren’t likely to begin
But this island love will likely start
To burn like tropic fire within my heart

We loved and laughed, laughed and loved and cried
Why did she leave our happy isle
I’m sure there’s an answer, it’s just that I don’t know
Why she had to leave, why she had to go

Bestseller Moonlight Dreams (12/25/2002) (song#761)

The moon shines like bestseller dreams
On islands like a cottage dweller scheme
I see love’s constellation taking shape
Love is now aflame and there’s no fire escape

Bestseller moonlight dreams
Interstellar schemes
Love’s constellation now is taking shape
Love is now aflame and there’s no fire escape
Bestseller moonlight dreams

You’re the one I love so true
My life would be nothing without you
Your love’s like nothing I’ve ever seen
Bestseller moonlight dreams

Bestseller moonlight dreams
Interstellar schemes
Love’s constellation now is taking shape
Love is now aflame and there’s no fire escape
Bestseller moonlight dreams

There’s a power in the night that tells
The scheme of love where islands dwell
The light of love is somewhere in between
Bestseller moonlight dreams

You’re the one I love so true
My life would be nothing without you
Your love’s like nothing I’ve ever seen
Bestseller moonlight dreams

Bestseller moonlight dreams
Interstellar schemes
Love’s constellation now is taking shape
Love is now aflame and there’s no fire escape
Bestseller moonlight dreams

Songs To Davy Jones (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#762)

Well his name is Long Tall Jones
He lives in the lone star zone
He works all night and then he’ll rest
And he has but one request

Just change his name to Davy Jones
And send him to some tropic zone
He’ll swim all night without the rest
He’ll just sink the ships that’s sailing west

He’ll watch sailors sail above
Singing songs of island love
When he’s done they’ll sing their island songs
In the cold dark deep to Davy Jones

Just change his name to Davy Jones
And send him to some tropic zone
He’ll swim all night without the rest
He’ll just sink the ships that’s sailing west

When you talk to Long Tall Jones
Living in that lone star zone
Just tell him to sail out west
And sing island songs and get some rest

Tell him to try his very best
But if he doesn’t make it to the tropic zones
He may have to spend his final rest
Singing island songs to Davy Jones

Well his name is Long Tall Jones
He’s singing island songs to Davy Jones
Sing along with Long Tall Jones
Singing island songs to Davy Jones

Just An Ahoy Away (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#763)

With the sails rolled up high
In the tropic sky
Sailors head on down, saying ah
In old Lahaina
The tide has ebbed
Tropic moonlight spins it’s web
Love is just ahoy
In old Lahaina

Well it’s hard to believe that things have changed
The stars and moon are all the same
In old Lahaina
As I listened to some old island songs
A dream appeared before too long
In old Lahaina

She said she hailed from distant shores
She spoke of love she had no more
In old Lahaina
We danced as the moonlight spun it’s web
We kissed as the tide began to ebb
In old Lahaina

With the sails rolled up high
In the tropic sky
Sailors head on down, saying ah
In old Lahaina
The tide has ebbed
Tropic moonlight spins it’s web
Love is just ahoy
In old Lahaina

She said she hailed from distant shores
She spoke of love she had no more
In old Lahaina
We danced as the moonlight spun it’s web
We kissed as the tide began to ebb
In old Lahaina

She’s still my love until this day
Love was just an ahoy away
In old Lahaina
She’s still my love until this day
Love was just an ahoy away
In old Lahaina

At The Evening Tide (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#764)

At the evening tide she’s by my side
With waves of love we just can’t hide
A lovely face with an angel’s grace
We share our love in sweet embrace
At the evening tide

Let love sail in ships of wonder
Storms can’t tear our life asunder
Love is like a rainbow painted by the sun
Love like ours can never be undone
At the evening tide

Chains aren’t strong enough to hold it
Love like ours just won’t permit it
For her love I’d cross the oceans wide
Just to have her and feel it
At the evening tide

Let love sail in ships of wonder
Storms can’t tear our life asunder
Love is like a rainbow painted by the sun
Love like ours can never be undone
At the evening tide

At the evening tide she’s by my side
With waves of love we just can’t hide
A lovely face with an angel’s grace
We share our love in sweet embrace
At the evening tide

Ahihi Blossom Lei (Larry W. Jones 12/25/2002) (song#765)

I so desire to give you my ahihi blossom
Like the mountain lehua our hearts are entwined
With your enticement I am overcome
Your love is like a fragrant flower vine

Feel the caress of the flowered lei
Over and over like a soft bouquet
Your love is precious, the wind would say
Like the ahihi blossom fragrant lei

Lanihuli is the place where I will go
There is where the ahihi blossom grows
The Nu’uanu pali will lead me there
To find the ahihi blossom for your hair

Come to me, may our love be expressed
Tell the story of our love today
May our love be forever blessed
By this ahihi blossom fragrant lei

Island Wedding Bell (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#766)

It was an island wedding
And in Hawaii is where they dwell
You could see that Kapono
Truly loved his sweet island belle
It was in Hawaii that Kapono
And his love rang the chapel bell
You never know how love grows
Until the islands have cast their spell

They built a little cottage
Down by the deep blue bay
She knew how to please her Kapono boy
She served him love and rice and fish and poi
Kapono paddled his outrigger through the swells
He did all he could to please his sweet island belle
You never know how love grows
Until the islands have cast their spell

They had an old koa wood guitar
And boy did they make it ring
Ki’hoalu songs of the islands
Are what Kapono and his island belle would sing
But when the moon came up
The magic of the night would dwell
You never know how love grows
Until the islands have cast their spell

She wore a flower in her hair
And it was island hibiscus red
They went down to Waikiki
And everyone there could see
That it was truly in love they were wed
And when the starlight fell
You never know how love grows
Until the islands have cast their spell

They had an island wedding
And in Hawaii is where they dwell
You could see that Kapono
Truly loved his sweet island belle
It was in Hawaii that Kapono
And his love rang the chapel bell
You never know how love grows
Until the islands have cast their spell

Little Cottage (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#767)

I was born by the seashore
In a little grass cottage shack
I heard the ocean’s mighty roar
And said I wouldn’t be coming back

Well it’s been a long time coming
But a change has come over me
My ship I’ll soon be turning
Toward that little cottage by the sea

I’ve seen some long, hard sailing
Across wide oceans in the night
I’ve heard sailors’ cries and wailing
Out of storms and fear and fright

Well it’s been a long time coming
But a change has come over me
My ship I’ll soon be turning
Toward that little cottage by the sea

Many times I never thought
That my life would be for long
And now I know that I ought
To return to that shore where I belong

I was born by the seashore
In a little grass cottage shack
I heard the ocean’s mighty roar
And said I wouldn’t be coming back

Well it’s been a long time coming
But a change has come over me
My ship I’ll soon be turning
Toward that little cottage by the sea

Time With You (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#768)

Stars in June
And tropic moons
Shining bright tonight
By the bay, end of day
Turning on the night
Dance to the moon in starlit skies
I’m spending
All of my time with you in paradise

Love is true
Skies are blue
Basking in the sun
Tropic day
Every way
Islands sure are fun
Dance to the wind in sunny skies
I’m spending
All of my time with you in paradise

Your sweet love
Comes from above
You were meant for me
Now I know
I love you so
Living by the sea
Dance to the love so warm and nice
I’m spending
All of my time with you in paradise

Stars in June
And tropic moons
Shining bright tonight
By the bay, end of day
Turning on the night
Dance to the moon in starlit skies
I’m spending
All of my time with you in paradise

Searching The Islands (Larry W.Jones) (song #769)

I’ve been searching the islands for awhile
Looking for a friendly face
Now that the moon shines with a smile
Let our hearts this night embrace

Let me hold you close as we stroll
Love can last til the twelfth of never
We’ll just let love control
We can make ours last forever

You were like the sun on a day that’s cold
Now you’ve warmed my hands and heart
Dreams come true in islands I’m told
You’re the dream I’ve searched for from the start

I’ve been searching the islands for awhile
Looking for a friendly face
Now that the moon shines with a smile
Let our hearts this night embrace

You were like the sun on a day that’s cold
Now you’ve warmed my hands and heart
Dreams come true in islands I’m told
You’re the dream I’ve searched for from the start
Dreams come true in islands I’m told
You’re the dream I’ve searched for from the start

Page In Island History (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#770)

She makes me Kona coffee and it’s not too strong
She says she’s gonna love me til the mornin’ dawn
She’s an island angel and it’s plain to see
Why our love will be a page in island history

She can dance a wicked hula in the soft moonlight
She can sing island songs about the tropic nights
She’s my wife, lover, friend so can’t you see
Why our love will be a page in island history

Her kisses every night makes the morning glow
Her smile is like the sun that makes the roses grow
And because she’s such an angel, it’s no mystery
Why our love will be a page in island history

She makes me Kona coffee and it’s not too strong
She says she’s gonna love me til the mornin’ dawn
She’s an island angel and it’s plain to see
Why our love will be a page in island history

Over The Edge Of Love (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#771)

Come and get closer island baby
I’ll fall further in love with you maybe
Come on, there’s no time to stall
I’m over the edge because Hawaii called

I love to hear the things that you say
I love to see the smile on your face
I love our little cottage by the bay
Where we love the tropic nights away

Sometimes I wonder if I’m dreamin’
Is it just the tropic moon a-schemin’
Maybe it’s the magic of the stars above
That called us to this island love

Come and get closer island baby
I’ll fall further in love with you maybe
Come on, there’s no time to stall
I’m over the edge because Hawaii called

I love to hear the things that you say
I love to see the smile on your face
I love our little cottage by the bay
Where we love the tropic nights away

By The Side Of You (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#772)

Close by the side of you
There is where I want to stay
Close by the side of you
Down by the lovely bay

I’ll always hold you dear
You’ll always be so near
By the flower in your hair
I’ll know your love is there

When you’re by my side here next to me
I’m not just a lonely island in the stream
You bring my life such ecstasy
You really are my island dream

Close by the side of me
Your warmth is like a sweet caress
I know you’ll always be
My only happiness

Wherever you, my love, may go
My heart will be there with you too
It’s the only way I know
To keep my heart there by the side of you

Up On Cloud Nine (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#773)

Here comes my island love
We fit like hand and glove
She’s an island dream, oh yes
She’s fills my life with happiness
Here comes my love divine

She knows how to take her time
To take me to cloud nine
She makes me smile and steals my heart
Just like she did right from the start
She makes love on island time

I’ve got to have her love
It’s just something understood
I like the way she takes her time
It gives me peace of mind
To be with her up on cloud nine

Her love’s my only future hope
I know I’ll never have to grope
Cause love like her’s is island grown
She’s a dream that’s really mine
When she takes me to cloud nine

Breezy, Bright And Sunny (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (SONG#774)

Sunny
The isles are breezy, bright and sunny
When you see me smiling to myself, don’t think it’s funny
I just flew four thousand miles
I’m a snowbird mainland child
I haven’t been here for awhile
Here on this breezy, bright and sunny isle

Sunny
The islands have the beaches made for tanning
And flames of love the islands here are fanning
Rainbows in blue skies the sun’s a-painting
You won’t hear this mainland boy complaining
I’ll just relax and read Tolstoi or something
Like looking for me a lovely island honey

Well now sonny
I can tell you about snowbirds and noses runny
That’s why they make islands so nice and sunny
Here, there’s not a cloud up in the sky
They just hang around the mountains way up high
So, I think I’ll just stay here til I die
Here in this breezy, bright and sunny paradise

Sunny
Sure is funny
Sunny

Don’t Pop My Bubble (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#775)

When the mornin’ comes, another day’s begun
Folks headin’ for the beach, headin’ for the sun
That’s where I’m goin’, don’t you know
Been a long time, seems a long time ago

I’ve got my island angel, my island queen
She’s the best thing that’s happened in the years between
We’re headin’ for the beach, movin’ on the double
Don’t nobody end this dream, don’t pop my bubble

Well the day was fine and now here’s the night
That big old moon sure is yellow and bright
We’ll dance the night away under starlit skies
Me and my angel here in this tropical paradise

Been to a luau, even tried the fish and poi
They sure know how to make me wish I was an island boy
I’ve got three days left to live my island dream
I’ll spend ’em with my island angel, my island queen

I’ve got my island angel, my island queen
She’s the best thing that’s happened in the years between
We’re headin’ for the beach, movin’ on the double
Don’t nobody end this dream, don’t pop my bubble
Don’t nobody end this dream, don’t pop my bubble

A Fine Table (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#776)

She sets a fine supper table
We listen to those Maui chimes
Our’s is love that’s oh so stable
Even through the stormy times

The tropics were like a lure
We both needed a mainland cure
So we both lit us a tiki torch
And let the dream of islands do its part

We disconnected the telephone
Don’t want telemarketers in a tropic zone
Don’t have to slave from nine til five
This was the best move of our lives

The temperature is always about eighty five
Don’t have to wear parkas here to survive
Just kick off your shoes and stroll the sand
And listen to the ukuleles and guitar bands

We dreamed of love in better climes
Sea level suits us both just fine
Besides, she sets a fine supper table
And we listen to those Maui chimes

In Warm July (Larry W. Jones 12/26/2002) (song#777)

The moon is full and so is my heart
You don’t have to ask me why
The strings of love won’t break apart
On a night like this in warm July

When we packed our bags for a tropic isle
We headed for a place with golden skies
We got here fast and we’ll stay awhile
We’ll make love last through all July

The moon is up and the stars are out
It’s a heavenly view in tropic skies
A measuring cup full to the spout
Couldn’t measure our love in paradise

I’m sure this love will last forever
Love like ours just wouldn’t die
It’s a mutual paradise endeavor
That will last way on past July

The moon is up and the stars are out
It’s a heavenly view in tropic skies
A measuring cup full to the spout
Couldn’t measure our love in paradise

The moon is full and so is my heart
You don’t have to ask me why
The strings of love won’t break apart
On a night like this in warm July

Missing Her Tonight (larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#778)

The tiki torches are burning bright
On the island tonight
Steel guitar music is playing
The yellow moon beams its light
Her lips are soft and warm
Sweet as red wine and myrrh
I wish I was there in her arms
I sure am missing her tonight

The waves are strong on the ocean tonight
The islands and my love are out of sight
A thousand leagues from anywhere
I sure am missing her tonight

This old ship is sailing fine
But she’s not as warm as that woman of mine
Out here this old boat is my best friend
Until I can be with my island love again
She’s the real lady of the tropic seas
When I dream, I dream of her charms
I wish I was there in her arms
I sure am missing her

The waves are strong on the ocean tonight
The islands and my love are out of sight
A thousand leagues from anywhere
I sure am missing her
A thousand leagues from anywhere
I sure am missing her tonight

A tropical Island Thing (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#779)

Her long black hair was waving
Eyes were polynesian through and through
All the island boys are saying
She’s the dream of Hawaii blue

Her smile makes the lei blossom shine
Her hula dance is bound to please
I hope some way to make her mine
And bring her love on the tradewind breeze

She keeps the island boys all prancin’
They tune up their ukuleles and sing
All the time she enjoys romancin’
It must be a tropical island thing

Watch the heavenly stars all fall
See them shooting toward the ground
I guess they want to, one and all
Be close to her when she’s around

Well, girl, like the flower in your hair
Your beauty is beyond compare
Your eyes are polynesian through and through
I could give you tender loving care

She keeps the island boys all prancin’
They tune up their ukuleles and sing
All the time she enjoys romancin’
It must be a tropical island thing
It must be a tropical island thing

Time To Settle Down (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#780)

Once upon a time you were drifting
Like an island in the stream
The world swirled all around you
Like an ocean full of dreams

When will be the time you settle down
Time is running out you see
Remember when we used to clown around
And now can we live in harmony

It looks like the fog’s a-lifting
It’s time to stop rolling dice
It’s time to stop your drifting
And be an island in waters of paradise

This old world will continue to spin
But love in the islands will never end
It’s time that you and I settled down
On Maui in a place called old Lahaina town

This old world will continue to spin
But love in the islands will never end
It’s time that you and I settled down
On Maui in a place called old Lahaina town

Looking For The Moon (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#781)

The island is quiet and the night black as pitch
I turned out the light with the pull chain light switch
I came here to meet her under a full tropic moon
But the full moon has waned and not coming back real soon

I remember her words when she said come down my way
She would meet me right here down by the bay
I can still her her voice when she called that day
So, I came to meet her in the islands without delay

Maybe I didn’t hear her right but I can’t forget
That a true love like hers is so hard to get
I’ve sailed over oceans just to hear a siren’s call
But now I wonder if I ever heard it at all

I remember her words when she said come down my way
She would meet me right here down by the bay
I can still hear her voice when she called that day
So, I came to meet her in the islands without delay

There are sirens and mermaids and island women’s delights
They call from the islands when the full moon is bright
Some of them are true loves but some of them might
Leave you looking for the moon on a pitch black night

It’s A lovely Day (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#782)

It’s a lovely day to come away and sail with me
You can’t lose anything but your shoes, you see
We’ll find some sand where we can get a tan, and be
Just like the polynesians on islands in the sea

It’s a lovely day to come away and fly with me
You can’t lose, just choose an exotic place to stay
How about some views far away in old Bombay
It’s a lovely day to come away and fly with me

It’s a lovely day to slip the rope and cruise with me
Any old boat that’ll stay afloat will surely do
We could dance to a ukulele band on islands in the sea
It’s a lovely day to slip the rope and cruise the blue

It’s a lovely day to ride baloons up in the air
The tradewinds will guide us to far off islands there
We’ll celebrate with cheese and wine with flair
We’ll cut the cake and set the wedding date with care

The weather is right, the future looks bright today
I can hear Hawaii call and that’s not all, you see
I hear the tradewinds whispering love is here to stay
It’s a lovely day to come away and marry me

The Shoe Box (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#783)

I remember it like it was the first time
It seems like a mirror from the past
I remember that song you and I danced to
It was under the moon in our senior class

In the shoe box was a photo of a honeymoon
It was taken in Honolulu under a yellow moon
My folks then were newlyweds in paradise
Now we’re the same age as the shoe box tonight

Where has the time flown to, into the past
I remember it like it was the first time
It seems like a mirror you look in fast
It was under the moon in our senior class

In the shoe box was a photo of a honeymoon
It was taken in Honolulu under a yellow moon
My folks then were newlyweds in paradise
Now we’re the same age as the shoe box tonight

Love Beyond Eternity (larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#784)

I see the way you look at me
I see love beyond eternity
Your love means the world to me
Your love has made a home

I promise that your love I’ll keep
I need you here beside of me
A dream comes from a tropic zone
My life has found a home

You calm my mind and let me sleep
I count your ways of love instead of sheep
I’m not an island all alone
Your love has brought me home

Rainbows shine on everyone
But your love is my only sun
I don’t sail my ship alone
You’re the anchor of our home

I see the way you look at me
I see love beyond eternity
Your love means the world to me
Your love has made a home
I see love beyond eternity
Your love has made a home

You And I Know (Larry w. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#785)

You know I’m yours, I know you’re mine
Love like ours came right on time
Even when we’re a thousand miles apart
You keep the fire alive within my heart

Your picture is on the cottage window sill
You look as sweet as the island sugar mill
When you’re here and when you’re away
I count my blessings every night and day

I count my blessings every night and day
When you’re here and when you’re away
Even when we’re a thousand miles apart
You keep the fire alive within my heart

Your picture is on the cottage window sill
You look as sweet as the island sugar mill
Love like ours came right on time
You know I’m yours, I know you’re mine
Love like ours came right on time
You know I’m yours, I know you’re mine

Island Love Is The Cure (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#786)

Mainland days are filled with ways that lead to shattered dreams
Lives confused and homes where time has torn the seams
Kids who miss their Daddy, Mamas carry on
Secret fun that only hurts because it’s hidden from the dawn

Mainland songs of solitary hearts that break when love becomes untrue
Melancholy tales of pretty girls and old love songs
But you know that for all those dreams of love undone
There’s always the other side of the coin you have to turn

Island love is kisses in the cottage
Island love is dependable and sincere
Island love is abiding with ohana
Island love is the kind I have for you, my dear

Island love is tropic nights and strolling in the sand
Island love is an island woman and an island man

Mainland roads are lonesome byways where dreams go it alone
At times they’re just highways that keep you low and far from home
If you’ve forgotten where love is, and it’s home you’re thinking of
Remember that mainland roads are lonesome and the cure is island love

Island love is kisses in the cottage
Island love is dependable and sincere
Island love is abiding with ohana
Island love is the kind I have for you, my dear

Island love is kisses in the cottage
Island love is dependable and sincere
Island love is abiding with ohana
Island love is the kind I have for you, my dear

Hawaiian Cowboy Talk Story (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#787)

In Hawaii it’s called talk story and we young’uns listened
When he talked about his saddle days and things in the past
We always took him at his word until the very last
And then we asked that Hawaiian cowboy to talk his story again

We could hear all those old tradewinds out there blowin’
His lasso streakin’ past his horse in herds with island scenes
We could feel the salt air on the trails where he was goin’
As he talked of stories on the ranches by those Hawaiian seas

I remember then that Mama told us
Don’t pay him no mind, his old talk stories are full of lies
But to me that old Hawaiian cowboy was my hero
His talk stories were as true as those blue Hawaiian skies

He told of olden times when he rode with the Parkers
On the big island through the pastures by the bay
That was Ka’Aina O Ka Paniolo, land of the Hawaiian cowboy
They were a tough, hard riding breed we heard the cowboy say

He talked about the time when John and Rachel Parker started
To build the dynasty of Paniolo cowboy island ways
They drove the cattle through the surf to the ships in the water
And many was the time when that old Hawaiian cowboy saved the day

Then I remember when the days and weeks went by
And that old Hawaiian cowboy never came around
I missed the old talk stories that my Mama would deny
He was my hero and I never put him down

I cried when I heard that they had found him lying
On his death bed with his old lasso by his head
He was holding onto a faded letter from John Parker
That said he was the roughest, toughest cowboy he ever had

And I remember Mama told us young’uns
Don’t pay him no mind, his old talk stories are full of lies
Now she knows that old Hawaiian cowboy truly was a hero
His talk stories were as true as those blue Hawaiian skies

Just as true as those blue Hawaiian skies

Love Just Slipped Away (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#788)

I could feel that tears were just about to start
The tradewinds whispered that she would depart
I felt the island sand begin to wash away
And with it the dreams of island love today

And my heart is breaking like a song that’s come undone
It’s sinking like the setting of the island sun
I know that memories are future lines that say
Remember all those dreams of island love that went away

I thought she was happy in our little cottage by the bay
I never thought the day would come when she would go away
I guess the blame is mine but I don’t know what to say
Except that dreams of island love just slipped away

And my heart is breaking like a song that’s come undone
It’s sinking like the setting of the island sun
I know that memories are future lines that say
Remember all those dreams of island love that went away

When she said goodbye I didn’t know what to say
Except that dreams of island love just slipped away
Dreams of island love just slipped away

Sailin’ Schooners (Larry W. Jones 12/27/2002) (song#789)

Sailin’ schooners wasn’t easy like swashbucklers in the movies
I don’t remember girls with long hair from Tahiti
There was no stateroom and I didn’t see no rugs
You just worked with salty dogs and thugs
Rode the waves that swirled below
There were storms that robbed your very sleep
And those arctic blizzards sure were cold
And you sang Blow The Man Down and Whisky-O

There was the time we sailed the cape
The winds blew so strong we hardly ate
And the sails were ripped right from the mast
We thought that day would be our last
We lost some sails and gear that day
And a few good sailors swept away
When we sailed our ship into that port
We knew that sailing life could be cut short
And we sang Ye Mariners All and Fare Thee Well

On the deep blue ocean late one night
The typhoon took us by surprise
I yelled out to Johnny-O, there was fear there in his eyes
He climbed the yard arm holding tight
And I know he tried with all his might
But Johnny-O sailed to oblivion and Davy Jones
And we sang Ye Mariners All and Fare Thee Well

So when you go to the movies, swashbucklers aren’t real heros
Real sailors had to earn their sea legs
They broke ice from the mast in temperatures of zero
But he’s doin’ what he really loves
Sailin’ schooners with salt water in his blood
Thinkin’ back to when he sailed so many years ago
Singin’ Blow The Man Down and Whisky-O

But he’s doin’ what he really loves
Sailin’ schooners with salt water in his blood
Thinkin’ back to when he sailed so many years ago
Singin’ Blow The Man Down and Whisky-O

Surfboard Dreams (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#790)

Kona coffee and a surfboard
It’s another island day
Yesterday in Maui, today another bay
Surf’s up and tide’s a-runnin’
I wish she was by my side
I’m not gettin’ any younger
But today I’m gonna ride

Surfer boards and Kona coffee
They keep my toes a-hangin’ on
Wahini girls in french bikinis
Dreams I had are all but gone
The islands that I’ve travelled
The waves that I have seen
Just won’t let me unravel
This crazy surfer’s dream

A gold medallion ’round my neck
That girl, she gave to me
She spent her time just working
While I won competitions on the sea
I call her on the phone sometimes
To see if she remembers me
Then I get out the wax again
And ride my dreams upon the sea

Surfer boards and Kona coffee
They keep my toes a-hangin’ on
Wahini girls in french bikinis
Dreams I had are all but gone
The islands that I’ve travelled
The waves that I have seen
Just won’t let me unravel
This crazy surfer’s dream

The islands that I’ve travelled
The waves that I have seen
Just won’t let me unravel
This crazy surfer’s dream

Oh Tropic Moon (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#791)

Oh tropic moon come shine tonight
Bring back my love and make things right
You were there when all was bright
Oh tropic moon come shine tonight

Oh tropic moon please let me see
Where is my love, my used to be
You were there when we first kissed
Oh tropic moon you know she’s missed

Oh tropic moon come shine on me
Don’t let her be just a memory
You were there when things weren’t dark
Oh tropic moon please mend my heart

Oh tropic moon please call her name
And make our love again the same
You were there as I recall
Oh tropic moon don’t let me fall

Oh tropic moon come shine on me
Don’t let her be just a memory
You were there when things weren’t dark
Oh tropic moon please mend my heart

Oh tropic moon be thinking of
The one you know that I still love
You were there when our love began
Oh tropic moon bring back my love again
Oh tropic moon bring back my love again

Before You Go Away Again (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#792)

Before you go away again
Please grant me this one request
I would feel so very blessed
Just another kiss, one that I will miss

The island days are bright but filled with rain
Hold me in your arms and ease the pain
Before you go away please do explain
When will we meet again, will we meet again

Before you go away again
Please know that island love will never die
But like lonely islands in the stream
When you go, so will go my dream

The island parties now are being filled
Luaus and dances under moonlight still
Hold me in your arms and ease the pain
Before you go away again

Before you go away again
Please know that island love will never die
But like lonely islands in the stream
When you go, so will go my dream

The island parties now are being filled
Luaus and dances under moonlight still
Hold me in your arms and ease the pain
Before you go away again

Leaves Of Ali’ipoe (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#793)

For you oh my love, my thoughts return
Treasured so at midnight, for my sweetheart do I yearn
In thought and mind, holding to each other
The beating of our hearts in endless love

A treasure unto me you are, my love
Beautiful you are, my eyes behold your loveliness
Spread out in view, in my dreams I envision you
As Ha’upu spreads its mountains fresh with morning dew

Like fragrant mokihana, Kauai’s flower entwined you are
The maile small-leafed pua blossom without par
No one can compare with you , my love
So fragrant is my dream of you there in slumber of

Let the story be told of Ali’ipoe
Mele at midnight of my sweetheart so treasured
With you only at midnight can I calmly breath
Together, my love, among the Ali’ipoe leaves

A Letter From The Islands (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#794)

Write me a letter from the islands
Have you found someone new
When I met you in the islands
You said that you’d be true
Just call me Aloha Joe
I’ve gotta know
Write me a letter from the islands
Is your love still true or should I go

I can hear that steel guitar
Softly as it sighs
Am I near or am I far
From your polynesian eyes
Ever since we said Aloha
Was it hello or did it mean goodbye
Write me a letter dear, from paradise

Write me a letter from the islands
Have you found someone new
Write me a letter from Hawaii
Send me a dream or two
Oh return, return I beg of you

True Island Love (Larry W. Jones 12/28/2002) (song#795)

Your hand you gave to me here where the tradewinds blow
You know I could hardly speak, just to say hello
With you my heart does dwell, you’re my island belle
True island love you showed me

You know you’re the only one in my dreams at night
Your lips I kiss so long as I hold you tight
Aloha here means more than friends because your love I’m in
True island love you showed me

I always knew that I would find a love
Now my heart is filled with love for you
In paradise I found the love that I
Know was meant those whose love is true

Your hand you gave to me right here in paradise
You and I will stay this way, in love so nice
Forever will you know that I will love you so
True island love you showed me

Your hand you gave to me right here in paradise
You and I will stay this way, in love so nice
Forever will you know that I will love you so
True island love you showed me

Romance Me (Larry W. Jones 12/29/2002) (song#796)

Enchant me with your beauty like a rainbow shining in
Romance me til the dark clouds go away again
Be the dream that I always have been dreaming of
Enchant me under stars above
Romance me with your island love

Dance with me at the luau and say that you’ll be mine
Enchant me with your knowhow of kisses like sweet wine
Be the flowers of the leis like hearts when they’re entwined
Enchant me under stars above
Romance me with your island love

Romance me with the promises of children not yet born
Enchant me with the arms I can’t resist each night and morn
Love me now and then forever with wedding vows so sworn
Enchant me under stars above
Romance me with your island love

Let me be in your future when the years have come and gone
Let me be in your thoughts when you’re in the home alone
Dance with me slowly when we put the music on
Enchant me under stars above
Romance me with your island love
Romance me with your island love

Make Our Love Continue (12/29/2002) (song#797)

Dancing with you could never make me sad
Dancing with you wouldn’t be so bad
Dancing with you could only make me glad
You’re the girl in every dream I’ve ever had

So let’s dance while the music’s going on
Take the chance and we might fall in love by dawn
So let’s spend the time until the time is gone
Tropic isles are here for lover’s time and zone

Tomorrow will be a memory, tonight can be our own
Dances are just steps in time to make your love my own
Your song and mine will be the same lovely tune
So dance with me under tropic stars and moon

Let’s take the time and make the memories before tomorrow’s dawn
We’ll make future plans instead of dreams here in this island sand

Dancing with you could only make me glad
You’re the girl in every dream I’ve ever had
Tomorrow will be a memory, tonight can be our own
So let’s spend the time until the time is gone
Let’s spend the time and make our love continue on

The Luau Pit (Larry W. Jones 12/29/2002) (song#798)

Ye sailors all, if ye sail by
Drop anchor here, blue are the skies
Come, me lads, I beg, permit
To show ye all the luau pit

Ye sailors all, when the sun goes down
The luau pit is of renown
And bring, me lads, your whiskey too
We’ll celebrate in Hawaii blue

Oh sailors all, if ye sail by
Drop anchor here, for we will dine
A taste so sweet, ye can’t deny it
For there’s kalua pig in the luau pit

Songs we’ll sing, girls will dance
Ye sailors all will be entranced
Come, ye men, the luau enjoy
For we’ll eat rice and fish and poi

Songs we’ll sing, girls will dance
Ye sailors all will be entranced
Come, ye men, the luau enjoy
For we’ll eat rice and fish and poi

In The Arms Of The Night (Larry W. Jones 12/29/2002) (song#799)

Darling, you and I in the arms of the night on the isle
Making memories along the way
Darling, you and I in the arms of the night on the isle
Here in paradise our love will stay

Overhead are the million stars
Heavenly beauty has no bars
The twinkle from the stars are in your eyes
Tradewinds blow the trees
Warm is the tropic breeze
We’re in love in paradise

Darling, you and I in the arms of the night on the isle
Here in a tropic paradise

Here, the night the lovers gather in
Memories begin
The moon on the sea and lovely dreams
A million stars at night
A tropical delight
Upon our love the moonlight beams

Darling, you and I in the arms of the night on the isle
Here in a tropic paradise
Here in a tropic paradise

Eight Hundred (Larry W. Jones 12/29/2002) (song#800)

Eight hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Eight hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Eight hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

If you ever ask me how long for you my love will be
Eight hundred lifetimes, then we would wait and see
If I could do it over, not a thing would I ever change
I could sing you island songs of love that I’ve arranged

If you ever ask me how deep for you my love will be
I can only tell you that my love is deeper than the sea
Eight hundred fathoms down lives cousin Davy Jones
Says I’ve got more songs to write about these tropic zones

Eight hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Eight hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Eight hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
Eight hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
