Hele Mai O Nani Pae ‘aina (Larry W. Jones 07/26/2003) (song#1801)

Hele mai, o nani Hawai’i
Come to me, beautiful Hawai’i
Island of the lovely lehua flower
There in the ocean’s bower lying
Hele mai, oh beautiful isle of my heart

Hele mai, o nani Maui
Come to me, beautiful Maui
Island of the lovely roselani flower
Fresh as the summer shower bringing
Hele mai, oh beautiful isle of my heart

Hele mai, o nani O’ahu
Come to me, beautiful O’ahu
Island of the lovely ilima blossom
Deep love to my bosum bringing
Hele mai, oh beautiful isle of my heart

Hele mai, o nani Kauai
Come to me, beautiful Kauai
Home to the fragrant mokihana lei
You are to me a sweet bouquet
Hele mai, oh beautiful isle of my heart

Ha`ina mai ka puana la
Let the refrain be told
Of the beautiful islands, the lovely flowers
The islands of my heart

Waikiki Island Maiden (Larry W. Jones 07/27/2003) (song#1802)

My little Waikiki island maiden
She knows I love her so
And even though she and I are far apart
Never will I ever be tradin’
Her special place here in my heart

Someday I’ll be going back
To that Waikiki shore
Back to that little grass shack
To the island maiden I adore

Then I’ll be in paradise
When we wed there by the sea
Island love will be in our eyes
My little Waikiki island maiden and me

Someday I’ll be going back
To that Waikiki shore
Back to that little grass shack
To the island maiden I adore

Then I’ll be in paradise
When we wed there by the sea
Island love will be in our eyes
My little Waikiki island maiden and me

Blue Blue Lei Of Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 07/28/2003) (song#1803)

Far away in sunny islands
Where the bonny tradewinds play
There I strolled through the sand of islands
Singing with an island maid

She was sweeter than the sweetest
A lehua blossom fresh as dew
And she wore with her long tresses
A blue, blue lei of Hawaii too

Then the season came for parting
Before the moon of harvest rose
Love for two hearts was just starting
Where the balmy tradewind blows

She was an island girl to treasure
A lehua blossom fresh as dew
Now in my dreams she is a pleasure
With a blue, blue lei of Hawaii too

Far away in sunny islands
Where the bonny tradewinds play
There I strolled through the sand of islands
Singing with an island maid

Then the season came for parting
Before the moon of harvest rose
Love for two hearts was just starting
Where the balmy tradewind blows

She was an island girl to treasure
A lehua blossom fresh as dew
Now in my dreams she is a pleasure
With a blue, blue lei of Hawaii too

Waitabu Reef (Larry W. Jones 07/28/2003) (song#1804)

Now Somosomo straits roars like a lion’s lair
And where are you now, Tiare
The Fijian sea has been no friend to me
The southern moon shines on this island bare
As one day it shined on Tiare’s hair

But Tiare, dear, don’t cry for me
Even though your face again I may never see
There’s nothing here for to end my grief
But watch the moon, lonely southern moon
Light the crashing breakers on Waitabu reef

Our ship was old, as was all its gear
And where are you now, Tiare
And from the safety of the land we volunteered
To sail by the moon, lonely southern moon
Til Somosomo straits marooned us here

Now somewhere east, Tahiti lies
And where are you now, Tiare
Through Fijian oceans wide the sailor tries
To sail by the moon, but to his grief
It only lights the crashing breakers on Waitabu reef

We have seen no ships sailing past this shore
And where are you now, Tiare
Your lovely face I fear I will see no more
Our ship was old, as was all its gear
And Somosomo straits marooned us here

We sailed toward the western ocean shores
And where are you now, Tiare
And those to the east we’ll see no more
Happy we sailed, but now my heart’s in pain
At Somosomo straits and Waitabu reef we remain

Now Somosomo straits roars like a lion’s lair
And where are you now, Tiare
The Fijian sea has been no friend to me
The southern moon shines on this island bare
As one day it shined on Tiare’s hair

Sweet Moana (Larry W. Jones 07/28/2003) (song#1805)

The fairest maids of Hawaiian isles
Along the island shores there dwell
And not hidden with their comely smiles
Are those in the mountains and valleys fair
And yet, the fairest island maid of all
Made my heart be never still
To see her at the luau or waterfall
Sweet Moana, my every dream fulfilled

Her face was that of an island rose
This lovely maid from paradise
And everywhere that Moana goes
True love she carries in her eyes
This fair island maid with her lovely smile
Plans for the future I would build
The sweetest flower of Hawaiian isles
Sweet Moana, my every dream fulfilled
Cheerful she was in her work
And words of love were in her songs
My heart for her would ever perk
When in the sand we would stroll along
And at the luau on friday night
She danced the hula with graceful skill
No other island maid was such delight
Sweet Moana, my every dream fulfilled

But then she saw another island man
Whose father owned the big plantation there
Til me dyin’ day, I’ll not understand
This sweet island girl, this maid so fair
The plantation son one day arrived
From the island valley over the hill
And took away me future island bride
Sweet Moana, my dreams were never filled

I’m Gonna See Ya (Larry W. Jones 07/28/2003) (song#1806)

Island babe, I’m gonna see ya
Let me tell you when I’ll see ya
See you in the summer time, when summer rolls around
See you in the summer, in old Lahaina town

Island babe, that island is a-callin’
That old Maui island is a-callin’
Calling to all men who roam, back to my island home
Telling me to never ever roam

Island babe, I don’t want to stay here
This lonely mainland is no place for cheer
My heart is cryin’ out, cryin’ in the air
My heart is on the island, knowin’ you are there

Island babe, my ramblin’ days are over
My ramblin’ days just like a lonesome rover
Island babe, my ship is bound, bound for a warmer shore
An island shore from which I’ll leave, no, never more

Island babe, I’m gonna see ya
Let me tell you when I’ll see ya
See you in the summer time, when summer rolls around
See you in the summer, in old Lahaina town

Paniolo Hawaiian Cowboy (Larry W. Jones 07/29/2003) (song#1807)

When I die I wanna go to Maui
Be resurrected as a cowboy there
Ride those wild Hawaiian paniolo horses
Sing cowboy songs in the tradewind air

I’ll be a hapa haole paniolo Hawaiian cowboy
I’ll be a part of the island ohana family
I’ll sing island cowboy songs, eatin’ fish and poi
And know the joy of bein’ a cowboy by the sea

Texas is just too hot and dusty
Wyoming is too far north for me
Winds in New Mexico are much too gusty
I like that Maui tradewind breeze

I’ll be a hapa haole paniolo Hawaiian cowboy
I’ll be a part of the island ohana family
I’ll sing island cowboy songs, eatin’ fish and poi
And know the joy of bein’ a cowboy by the sea

When I die I wanna go to Maui
Be resurrected as a cowboy there
Ride those wild Hawaiian paniolo horses
Sing cowboy songs in the tradewind air

That Old Lahaina Stroll (Larry W. Jones 07/29/2003) (song#1808)

I remember as a child in old Lahaina town
As soon as that island sun was going down
My mother and sister would put on their dancing gown
And papa took them to the dance in old Lahaina town

I would listen to Hawaii Calls on our old radio
Coming over the waves from the beach at Oahu
It sure was nice sleeping where the tradewinds blow
And I never felt that I was alone or feelin’ blue

When papa came back, they would all be a-hummin’
And I would beg them to let me be a-comin’ too
Mama said to me, just use some self control
Til you’re old enough to do that old Lahaina stroll

Then one day my mama said it was time for me to go
Dancin’ in the moonlight is good for your soul
And I had a fabulous time where the tradewinds blow
Dancin’ to that, dancin’ to that old Lahaina stroll

The tiki torches at midnight were all burning low
The slack key and steel guitars were playin’ slow
Everybody was dancin’ under the tropic moon aglow
And my sister and her beau were so in love, I know

Well, that was then, when Hawaii called so long ago
And I still remember island songs on that old radio
When my mother and sister would put on their dancing gown
And papa took them to the dance in old Lahaina town

Those sure were good times where the tradewinds blow
And now every Saturday night I have a goal
I listen to Hawaii Calls and when the songs are slow
My husband and I still do that old Lahaina stroll

And now every Saturday night I have a goal
Yeah, we still do that old Lahaina stroll

Deeper Than A Submarine (Larry W. Jones 07/29/2003) (song#1809)

Singers on the mainland always sing about their love
About how deep the oceans are and how high is a star
Well I’m just an island man and I haven’t traveled very far
But I know about true love in the place where islands are

So, let me tell you about island love and a thing or two
Islands are where I found you and where my dreams came true

My love is deeper than a submarine cruising by the reef
My love is softer than the winds of trade that bring your soul relief
My love is finer than the snowflakes on Mauna Kea’s rim
My love is warmer than the waters where island people swim
You can see my love in the beauty of birds of paradise
And you can see how deep it goes just by looking in my eyes

They sing about it in Singapore and swear it in St Claire
But it’s not the same as the love that’s in the tradewind air
There’s a million ways to sing it, some even mean it too
But I’ve found an island love where love is oh, so true

So, let me tell you about island love and a thing or two
Islands are where I found you and where my dreams came true

My love is deeper than a submarine cruising by the reef
My love is softer than the winds of trade that bring your soul relief
My love is finer than the snowflakes on Mauna Kea’s rim
My love is warmer than the waters where island people swim
You can see my love in the beauty of birds of paradise
And you can see how deep it goes just by looking in my eyes

My love is deeper than a submarine cruising by the reef
My love is softer than the winds of trade that bring your soul relief
My love is finer than the snowflakes on Mauna Kea’s rim
My love is warmer than the waters where island people swim
You can see my love in the beauty of birds of paradise
And you can see how deep it goes just by looking in my eyes

An Island State Of Mind (Larry W. Jones 07/29/2003) (song#1810)

Someday, down by the bay, you’ll miss me some time
Oh yes, you’re gonna miss me again
It’s just an island state of mind

Go on, the tropic zone will be there to remind
That you’re gonna miss, gonna miss me again
It’s just an island state of mind

After all the love I gave you
You strolled away and left me broken hearted and down
But remember here in Hawaii blue
That my love was true in old Lahaina town

Tradewinds blow, yes they blow all the time
And my love for you is still there you’ll find
It’s just an island state of mind

Someday, down by the bay, you’ll miss me some time
Oh yes, you’re gonna miss me again
It’s just an island state of mind

After all the love I gave you
You strolled away and left me broken hearted and down
But remember here in Hawaii blue
That my love was true in old Lahaina town

Tradewinds blow, yes they blow all the time
And my love for you is still there you’ll find
It’s just an island state of mind

Waltz Of The Island Moon (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1811)

The moon is full and shining on the bay
I love to dance in the island way
Gonna waltz by the palm trees soon
Tonight’s the waltz of the island moon

Island moon, full and yellow as gold
Dancin’ on the starlit bay
You’re just the thing that I’ve been told
To melt a heart soon the island way
So, shine on me island moon

Tiki torches all around the little grass shack
Couples strolling in the sand out back
I look through the window and there I see
My island girl, my Cheryl Moana Marie

Island moon, full and yellow as gold
Dancin’ on the starlit bay
You’re just the thing that I’ve been told
To melt a heart soon the island way
So, shine on me island moon

Steel guitars and ukuleles tuned up
Little island band plays for tips in a cup
Tradewinds blowin’ on the island shore
Blowin’ island love on the dancin’ floor

Island moon, full and yellow as gold
Dancin’ on the starlit bay
You’re just the thing that I’ve been told
To melt a heart soon the island way
So, shine on me island moon

One more round of Kilima, Hawaiian waltz
Then Ledward Kaapana’s waltz of the wind
The love you find here is never false
Island love in your soul is deep within

Island moon, full and yellow as gold
Dancin’ on the starlit bay
You’re just the thing that I’ve been told
To melt a heart soon the island way
So, shine on me island moon

California Shoreline Blues (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1812)

I’ve got old mainland shoreline blues
Tired of walkin’ holes in these old shoes
Been awhile since I’ve been gone
I’ve been dreamin’ of that tropic zone

Found no love here that stayed true
I’m goin’ back to Hawaii blue
California has a lot to choose
But I’ve got a load to lose
I’ve got the California shoreline blues

The mainland called when I was seventeen
Far flung pastures all were green
Education and a top notch job
No more small town island Billy Bob

A gas station and night watch slob
In the day I sleep and sob
Add to seventeen a few more years
And an ocean full of tears
I’ve got the California shoreline blues

I’ve rambled California up and down
Far away from old Lahaina town
The girls I met didn’t want to stay
They didn’t understand Aloha anyway

I listen to island music on the shore
And it just makes me want the more
The only thing an island boy can use
Island sand to bury these old shoes
I’ve got the California shoreline blues

Gabby Pahinui Star (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1813)

Well, the people on the islands far away
Danced at the luau til the dawn of day
They played ukuleles where the breezes blow
And Gabby had his koa guitar ready to go

At the luau in the evenin’ when the sun went down
Down by the bay in Honolulu town
Gabby Pahinui played his koa guitar
And the ukuleles you could hear clear to the stars

Gabby played the old Aloha Ka Manini
And the island tune Pu’uanahulu
He played for the sweethearts Ipo Lei Manu
And that’s how the rest of the nightime flew

At the luau in the evenin’ when the sun went down
Down by the bay in Honolulu town
Gabby Pahinui played his koa guitar
And the ukuleles you could hear clear to the stars

It was a sad day in nineteen eighty
When Charles Gabby Pahinui passed away
They hung up his guitar, he was a slack key big star
Down by the bay where the breezes play

Still An Island Man (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1814)

Well, I may look all spic ‘n span
Squeaky shiny down to my shoes
But inside I’m still an island man
Dreamin’ bout returnin’ to Hawaii blue

Point me toward wide deep blue
Get me a fast outrigger canoe
Inside I’m still an island man
Dreamin’ bout Hawaii blue

I may act like a big stock broker
Gold cufflinks and a necktie choker
But I wanna dance at the luau, boy
And fill my plate full of fish and poi

Point me toward wide deep blue
Get me a fast outrigger canoe
Inside I’m still an island man
Dreamin’ bout Hawaii blue

Well, I may look all spic ‘n span
Squeaky shiny down to my shoes
But inside I’m still an island man
Dreamin’ bout returnin’ to Hawaii blue

Point me toward wide deep blue
Get me a fast outrigger canoe
Inside I’m still an island man
Dreamin’ bout Hawaii blue

Someone Just Like You (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1815)

I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Someone who my love, she’ll be keepin’
Not someone who spends all day sleepin’
I’m still lookin’ for an island love to say I do
Lookin’ for someone just like you

I’ve spent enough time bein’ lonely
Strollin’ the sand with my shadow only
I need somebody here to take care of me
In true island tradition
Lookin’ for love, not recognition
We’ll stroll together forever by the sea

I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Someone who my love, she’ll be keepin’
Not someone who spends all day sleepin’
I’m still lookin’ for an island love to say I do
Lookin’ for someone just like you

I’ve spent enough time bein’ lonely
Strollin’ the sand with my shadow only
I need somebody here to take care of me
In true island tradition
Lookin’ for love, not recognition
We’ll stroll together forever by the sea

I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Lookin’ for someone to be true
I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Lookin’ for someone just like you

I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Lookin’ for someone to be true
I’m still lookin’ for an island love
Lookin’ for someone just like you

Someone Just Like You (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1815)

Blue ocean, I have returned to you
Trade winds, do you still remember me
And have you seen Moana, with polynesian eyes
I left from your shore with a head full of dreams
They all turned out blue, it seems
Everything I needed was here in this paradise

Blue ocean, did Moana come here in the evening
Trade winds, did she have words to say
Blue ocean, did you hear her voice singing
She just strolled away one day
Can’t blame her for giving up on me

Blue ocean, if you should see her
Tell her that I have returned
Trade winds, tell her I’m lonely
And that for her only, my heart still burns
Blue ocean, ask Moana to please come back to me

Blue ocean, I have returned to you
Trade winds, do you still remember me
And have you seen Moana, with polynesian eyes
I left from your shore with a head full of dreams
They all turned out blue, it seems
Everything I needed was here in this paradise

Blue ocean, if you should see her
Tell her that I have returned
Trade winds, tell her I’m lonely
And that for her only, my heart still burns
Blue ocean, ask Moana to please come back to me

Island Music Tycoon (Larry W. Jones 07/30/2003) (song#1817)

All the luaus in Hawaii were like a second home to me
Where wahinis danced the hula down by the sea
I grew up with slack key guitar music called kiho’alu
And it doesn’t matter who’s playin’ under the moon
Gabby Pahinui is still the island music tycoon

Well, I still remember the island scene back then
If I could turn the clock back, I’d love to live it again
Just to hear the Gabby band and Sonny Chillingworth sing
It makes me proud to be Hawaiian and sing island tunes
Where Gabby Pahinui is still the island music tycoon

Back in old Nashville, in the blue grass of Tennessee
There’s a lot of guitars playin’ sad songs for you and me
But when you cross the blue ocean and see that full moon
All the songs make you glad you knew the king of kiho’alu
Where Gabby Pahinui is still the island music tycoon

Well, if you’ve never heard slack key guitar called kiho’alu
You don’t know what you’ve missed here in Hawaii blue
It’s the home of slack key masters like George Kahumoku
Keola Beamer and Led Kaapana would tell you it’s true
That Gabby Pahinui is still the island music tycoon

All the luaus in Hawaii were like a second home to me
Where wahinis danced the hula down by the sea
I grew up with slack key guitar music called kiho’alu
And it doesn’t matter who’s playin’ under the moon
Gabby Pahinui is still the island music tycoon

For Hawaiian Rose (Larry W. Jones 07/31/2003) (song#1818)

Out on the island where the tradewind air
Caresses the swaying palm trees
There lives a girl, a wahini so fair
Fresh as the island breeze
Her songs are those of an angel above
Clear as Mauna Kea’s snows
It’s no wonder that everyone loves
The girl known as Hawaiian Rose

Hawaiian Rose, Hawaiian Rose
Pride of the oceans, deep are emotions
Fairest flower where soft tradewind blows
For Hawaiian Rose

Hawaiian Rose is a lady, does nothing shady
Many have asked for her hand
She’s a real beauty, she does her duty
When it comes to working the land
Here Dad owns a plantation, best in creation
Growing cane in island sand
One day she’ll inherit, all with much merit
All the sweet gold of his land

Men on the island, boys in the field
And some from far distant lands
For Hawaiian Rose they have kneeled
To ask for her heart and hand
But they all sigh to hear her reply
That it is I for whom true love grows
For Hawaiian Rose

I Dream Of Leilani (Larry W. Jones 07/31/2003) (song#1819)

I dream of Lelani with the long black hair
Whispered on tradewinds of islands so fair
I see her strolling down by the bay
Happy as roses that islands display

I remember the love songs her voice would soar
Free as the birds that flew ‘ore the shore
Oh, I dream of Leilani with the long black hair
Whispered on tradewinds of islands so fair

I dream of Leilani on the warm tropic isle
So glad was her heart and sweet was her smile
I still hear her songs when the tradewinds blow by
Surrounding my heart lest it should die

Crying in the night with such endless pain
Dreaming of lost love that will nere come again
Oh, I dream of Lelani and yearn for her so
Whispered on tradewinds where soft breezes blow

I dream of Leilani, dreams that never will fade
For she has my heart with her in the grave
I stroll through the sand now with my dreams alone
Singing her sweet songs which now have flown

Now the tuberoses that grow on the shore
Will never be gathered by her gentle hand more
Oh, I dream of Leilani with the long black hair
Whispered on tradewinds of islands so fair

Singing By The Sea (Larry W. Jones 07/31/2003) (song#1820)

Oh, my bird of paradise, with your silver voice of note
An island song you sing so sad and sweet
I listen as it rises softly and in the breezes float
On the tradewind that stirs the water at your feet

She is singing by the sea
She is singing by the ocean
By the shore where sweet island blossoms grow
And the tuberoses tremble and the
Words have deep emotion
With the whisper of the music soft and low

Something in the measure speaks of more than words have told
When sung from other lips that were not as young
And I find new meaning even though the song is old
Given new life and sweetness such as never sung

Oh, my bird of paradise, let me fill your empty heart
For I know the hidden meaning of your song
I will love you always and turn your song to art
And show you love that will teach you to be strong

She is singing by the sea
She is singing by the ocean
By the shore where sweet island blossoms grow
And the tuberoses tremble and the
Words have deep emotion
With the whisper of the music soft and low

Oh, my bird of paradise, let me fill your empty heart
For I know the hidden meaning of your song
I will love you always and turn your song to art
And show you love that will teach you to be strong

Little Kingly Cottage (Larry W. Jones 07/31/2003) (song#1821)

Of all the islands anchored in the ocean stream
One there is that is suited for a queen
A place where love that’s in the air will make you smile
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

Hele mai, come to me and here reside
Be my island lady, my lovely island bride
My kingly fortune share with me in island style
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

I have red island roses growing by the wall
One in your hair will my heart beguile
You will be my island rose to outbloom them all
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

Flowers filled with sweet perfume, all the year will bloom
And songs of island love will fill your bower soon
Hele mai, come to me for a love worthwhile
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

I have red island roses growing by the wall
One in your hair will my heart beguile
You will be my island rose to outbloom them all
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

Flowers filled with sweet perfume, all the year will bloom
And songs of island love will fill your bower soon
Hele mai, come to me for a love worthwhile
In my little kingly cottage on the isle

Aboard The Flying Cloud (Larry W. Jones 08/01/2003) (song#1822)

It’s time for all to get aboard
For the fastest ship the seas have seen
Proclaims the winds are now abeam
And the sounding of the bell is in the air
As the mates obey commands of the captain there
And over seas we glide, over oceans wide
Through the storms and gales and thunder loud
Aboard the fastest ship we’re flying, flying
Aboard the Flying Cloud

Forget about the cold Atlantic
That ocean’s not at all romantic
And just to be specific
We’re sailing over the wide Pacific
To the islands bathed in sunlight gold
Toward the west, there’s islands sleeping
And many secrets they are keeping
Of stories that have come from old
And dreams that only islands can unfold

Now it’s time to sing those island songs
Old Flying Cloud will be there ‘fore too long
We’ll sing them at the wave’s high crest
We’ll sing them at our very best
And let the islands hear our voices as a crowd
Through the oceans we are plying
Through the storms and gales and thunder loud
Aboard the fastest ship we’re flying, flying
Aboard the Flying Cloud

Lana (Larry W. Jones 08/01/2003) (song#1823)

For awhile I’ve known a merry island maiden
Who has sung only songs of joy
Her sweet smile is from a heart not laden
And happy dreams of her I daily do employ
But come the morrow things will change to sorrow
For the time has come, my joy to resign

My ship is sailing with the tide tomorrow
And Lana hasn’t said that she is mine
My ship is sailing with the tide tomorrow
And Lana hasn’t said that she is mine

She doesn’t know yet from her dream awaking
That I’ve been told I must depart
Now that our tie is nearly breaking
How strong the pull of love within my heart
Should I seal my lips and hide my sorrow
And sail with the tide without a sign
For Lana hasn’t said that she is mine

Oh, I can face the seas and all its danger
And bear the hardships coming that I know
Of storms at sea and foreign lands a stranger
But of Lana’s love I never could let go
My heart will break when I sail tomorrow
And many days at sea for Lana I will pine
For Lana hasn’t said that she is mine

Now, farewell and words of love be spoken
And my breaking heart cannot be still
But Lana’s promises of love’s devotion
Now fills my soul with such a thrill
Such sweet joy is mingled with my sorrow
As smiles mixed with teardrops shine

For even though I sail with the tide tomorrow
Lana says, Lana says that she is mine
For even though I sail with the tide tomorrow
Lana says, Lana says that she is mine

Fragrant Words (Larry W. Jones 08/01/2003) (song#1824)

Last night was when she told me so
As we strolled by the valley stream
And today my heart has a happy glow
Like a page from a story book dream

And her charming words are drifting on the air
As a voice from a dream could only be
Words as fragrant as the flower in her hair
And she loves, she loves only me

This island girl has filled my heart with joy
And the greatest fortune on me has smiled
No more with sorrows will my heart employ
My tomorrows will be gold here on the isle

Very soon I know what I’ll be doing there
Under the moon I’ll ask on bended knee
Words as fragrant as the flower in her hair
If my bride she’ll be, if my bride she’ll be

If she should decline, it would bring such pain
To this heart of mine, this bounding heart
But I’m inclined to believe the greatest gain
To gain her hand I would do my every part

So, I ask her as we stroll in the island sand
She answers my request to be her island man
Words as fragrant as the flowers by the sea
She will marry, yes, she will marry me

Island Angels (Larry W. Jones 08/02/2003) (song#1825)

Strolling down the beach, shopping at Waikiki
At Honolulu zoo, so many things to admire
Everywhere you look on this island in the sea
Something hits my eye and sets my soul afire

My heart goes bump and my head is in a whirl
It must be due to those pretty island girls
I’ll just close my eyes and maybe they’ll go away
Or I’ll go crazy here where tradewinds play

As I stroll beside them on Kalakaua Avenue
I can’t fall in love with just one or two
I love ’em all here in Hawaii blue
For those island girls you’ll fall in love here too

Strolling through Ala Moana park, more island girls
Looking like a string of pretty island pearls
Every one of them sets my heart awhirl
I’ll just blame it on those pretty island girls

Every day they’re near to me, dear to me
They all look so fine, island jewels that shine
They all look as angels are meant to be
Gonna make one of those island angels mine

Never More To Return (Larry W. Jones 08/02/2003) (song#1826)

He was a sailor man, leaving island sand
Never more to return
Will he ever return, no, he’ll never return
And for him, her heart will yearn

She kissed him by the shore, but never more
Watching his ship from astern
Will he ever return, no, he’ll never return
And for him, her heart will yearn

Months now have passed, before the mast
And yet for him her love still burns
Will he ever return, no, he’ll never return
And for him, her heart still yearns

On the summer seas, sailing gentle breeze
He would write her what he learned
But he didn’t know that wild gales would blow
And the ocean was not concerned

The letter arrived, with such plans contrived
About the gold that he had earned
He would marry her, his love on her confer
As soon as the summer leaves had turned

The monsoon gale was brief, his ship was on the reef
And the mighty breakers churned
Would he ever return, no, he’ll never returned
And for him, her heart still yearns

He was a sailor man, leaving island sand
Never more to return
Will he ever return, no, he’ll never return
And for him, her heart will yearn

Hale Aloha Aina (Larry W. Jones 08/03/2003 (song#1827)

Hale Aloha ‘aina, my island cottage home
So fair and lovely by the sea
I am so sad and lonely when away from you I roam
Where your beauty my eyes can’t see

Flowers may blossom here where I sail
With fragrance that I adore
But what good are they as long as they fail
To be the ones at my Hale Aloha ‘aina door

My island home is like a name beloved
Just like names ‘nere forgotten
Not a day will pass that I’m not thinking of
The cottage where I was begotten

And when years ahead bring faded dreams
Of my island home where breezes play
Hale Aloha ‘aina, my island home, will bring
Sweet memories of dear parents passed away

My home, Hale Aloha ‘aina, my island cottage home
I’ll love you always there by the shore
My heart is with you no matter where I roam
Until again I walk through your humble door

And though my mama and papa are gone
Their love for me is still in the tradewind air
So, once again, my heart is drawn
To Hale Aloha ‘aina, my cottage waiting there

First Island Flower (Larry W. Jones 08/03/2003) (song#1828)

My heart was once in tune with a lovely island flower
I watched it bloom both night and day
But then one day came a dark and stormy hour
Its petals fell and were scattered by the bay

I could only cry, for inside I knew
That my watchful care was now in vain
But in my dreams there came a hope renewed
That I might someday watch it bloom again

Then I found another lovely island girl
And I hoped that I could win her love
But again my dreams were hurled
Into the dark and gloomy storm thereof

Then I looked into many other eyes
And searched for hearts down by the sea
For someone here in paradise
Who might welcome a lonely heart like me

Oh, that lovely island flower that bloomed at first
Seemed sweeter than all I’ve ever known
And that one for whom my heart did thirst
Would have made me king upon a throne

Though the world is filled with lovely flowers
And many here I see in paradise
None can take away that sweetest power
Of the first island flower my heart did prize

Last Hawaiian Roundup (Larry W. Jones 08/03/2003) (song#1829)

I have longhorns that graze in Maui’s valleys
And on Pu’u kukui, candlenut hill
Hawaiian cowboys with pride count the tally
For a cowboy is proud of his skill

I have rode the range and the meadow
Til old with age I have toiled
Before long there will come in my shadow
Another to reap the fruits of the soil

My son has rode the range with me ever
Drove longhorns to ships through the tide
To him will go most all my endeavor
When I, at the last roundup will ride

Ah yes, the daughter so kindly and sweet
Will inherit with him some of the best
For, like her mother, ohana love is complete
And by her, my life has been blessed

And now, wahini of mine, in due measure
For you have been the pride of my life
From you I have had comfort and pleasure
This Hawaiian cowboy is proud of his wife

For as long as I live, I will love her
Long as there are islands in the streams
Unto her, all my love I confer
And future roundups that share in my dreams

Fair Is The Tropic Moon (Larry W. Jones 08/03/2003) (song#1830)

Fair is the tropic moon, mild is its light
Streaming over the bay in the quiet of its night
So fair is the tropic moon, gold is its glow
Pointing the way to my heart’s delight

Just as a friend comes when there is need
You are to me now a friend indeed
Shine your heavenly light on my island flower
Light her heart with love with your heavenly power

Fair is the tropic moon, gold and yellow the hue
Like a magic light of the night in Hawaii blue
Fair is the tropic moon, lighting my way
The moon on the sea where waves gently sway

Oh, light my way though wild it may be
To the heart of my love who’s waiting for me
For my soul is impatient to see
My love who is waiting for me

Just as a friend comes when there is need
You are to me now a friend indeed
Shine your heavenly light on my island flower
Light her heart with love with your heavenly power

Oh, light my way though wild it may be
To the heart of my love who’s waiting for me
For my soul is impatient to see
My love who is waiting for me

Nani Wahini (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1831)

What is Aloha komo mai, I’m not really sure
But this nani wahini said something sounding demure
What is pu’uwai, something about the heart
Aloha ku’u ipo sounds like an invitation for island love to start

Nani wahini, you’re as pretty as an island rose
Lovely island girl where tradewind breezes flows
Nani waihini, girl with polynesian eyes
Palekaiko, you come from paradise

Nani wahini
Please tell me, what is your name
And would you please be my island flame
It must be the stars or the moon that became
The glow in your eyes that my heart will claim

What is Aloha komo mai, I’m not really sure
But this nani wahini said something sounding demure
What is pu’uwai, something about the heart
Aloha ku’u ipo sounds like an invitation for island love to start

Nani wahini, you’re as pretty as an island rose
Lovely island girl where tradewind breezes flows
Nani waihini, girl with polynesian eyes
Palekaiko, you come from paradise

Heaven Too (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1832)

You’ve given me your love and life eternally
The stars up above are there to shine for you and me
Just like the tropic moon here in Hawaii blue
All of them, and you, are heaven too

Your arms that I feel are like heavenly wings
And soft is your song like a bird of paradise sings
Sweet tuberoses have been kissed by the dew
All of them, and you, are heaven too

The beauty of summer days with Mauna Kea’s snow
The soft tradewind breeze that through islands flow
Little island coves where our love has roamed
Are things of paradise made for you and me alone

Your love you have given, a sweet island melody
And this song in my heart will forever be
My dreams have been driven to reality true
All of them, and you, are heaven too

You’ve given me your love and life eternally
The stars up above are there to shine for you and me
Just like the tropic moon here in Hawaii blue
All of them, and you, are heaven too

Your love you have given, a sweet island melody
And this song in my heart will forever be
My dreams have been driven to reality true
All of them, and you, are heaven too

Greatest Old Lahaina Moon (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1833)

That old Lahaina moon, it was the month of June
That old Lahaina moon looked like a yellow balloon
That old Lahaina moon, there where Hawaii called
Called me to that little beach cafe where I saw you soon

They sang our song the whole night long, as I recall
Those were the greatest tunes
That was the greatest yellow moon
The greatest old Lanaina moon of them all

There wasn’t any paint on the door of that little beach cafe
The breeze blew the curtains in the windows with a sway
That little beach cafe on old Lahaina’s shore
It was there for romance and nothing more

There was wine to pour, need I say much more at all
Those were the greatest tunes
That was the greatest yellow moon
The greatest old Lanaina moon of them all

That old Lahaina moon, we won’t forget it soon
That old Lahaina moon looked like a yellow balloon
That old Lahaina moon, there where Hawaii called
Called me to that little beach cafe where I saw you soon

They sang our song the whole night long, as I recall
Those were the greatest tunes all right
That was the greatest yellow moon in sight
The greatest old Lanaina moonlit night of them all

Summer Of My Heart (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1834)

When I see the tuberoses growing
And the morning glories sigh
I know the reason is the season
For summer on the isle draws nigh

It’s true that winter has its good times
And many are its joys in store
But I just like those Maui chimes
Sounding on Hawaii’s shore
But I just like those Maui chimes
Sounding on Hawaii’s shore

When New England’s leaves turn yellow
And winter’s nights there come along
I hear the sounds of snowbirds mellow
When they sing a melancholy song

When I see those snow clouds above me
And nor’easter gales are coming o’re
I dream of those islands in the sea
And to stroll again that sunny shore
Yes, I dream of summers by the sea
For I love the islands more

And when my youthful days are over
And my hair is turning gray
I’ll remember when I was an island rover
On the isles where palm trees sway

Though old acquaintences may be forgotten
And dear ones in time may depart
I’ll remember Aloha shirts of flowered cotton
Worn in the summer of my heart
I’ll remember Aloha shirts of flowered cotton
Worn in the summer of my heart

Snow White Tuberose (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1835)

In the islands where sweet flowers grow
I love one more than all the rest
It is the fragrant snow white tuberose
The white island tuberose I love the best

This flower is so very dear to me
And its fragrance drifting out to sea
For it grows there with such love
On the isle of the girl I’m dreaming of
For it grows there with such love
On the isle of the girl I’m dreaming of

Soon I’ll be back where palm trees sway
Where island flowers with perfume abound
I will stroll down to her home that day
And bring her tuberoses I have found

This flower is so very dear to me
And its fragrance drifting out to sea
For it grows there with such love
On the isle of the girl I’m dreaming of
For it grows there with such love
On the isle of the girl I’m dreaming of

Whatever things that I may learn to prize
One there is that I have chose
The sweetest in the isles of paradise
Is my love with the snow white tuberose

My love and her flower are so dear to me
Sweet and fragrant and so fair to view
Oh yes, I love my rose there in Hawaii blue
A snow white tuberose and a love so true
Oh yes, I love my rose there in Hawaii blue
A snow white tuberose and a love so true

Sail Me Back To Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 08/04/2003) (song#1836)

Sweet Leilani, so dear to me
Is on that shore where breezes play
My home was once in Hawaii
Before I sailed away

Oh, sail me back to Hawaii
To my island in the sea
Back where my heart once was so free
Back to my darling, my sweet Leilani

Oh, why did I ever sail away
With dreams of being free
When all I dream of every day
Is being with my sweet Leilani

The captain said we’d sail back soon one day
Across that wide and deep blue sea
Back to where the tradewind breezes play
And back to my sweet Leilani

Oh, sail me back to Hawaii
To my island in the sea
Back where my heart once was so free
Back to my darling, my sweet Leilani

Well, the sailing trip is over at last
For there’s the calm side of the island lee
I’m done with sailing before the mast
And my sweet Leilani is waiting there for me

I Thought Of You (Larry W. Jones 08/05/2003) (song#1837)

My love, I thought of you today
Even though I’m far away
I thought I could even see your smile
Back there on our sunny isle

My love, did you think of me at all
My love for you, did you recall
Did you cry that I should be
So far from our island in the sea
Did you cry that I should be
So far from our island in the sea

My love, did you think of me today
Where you are, where breezes play
Did you dream of me awhile
And wish me back upon our isle

My love, I have been so sad
I miss your smile that makes me glad
Soon will come the day, I pray
When I’ll be back again to stay
Soon will come the day, I pray
When I’ll be back again to stay

My love, do you know how dear you are
And how much I love you from afar
I would give my life and all I own
For you, my love, yes, you alone

My love, I have been so sad
I miss your smile that makes me glad
Soon will come the day, I pray
When I’ll be back again to stay
Soon will come the day, I pray
When I’ll be back again to stay

Seas Calling (Larry W. Jones 08/05/2003) (song#1838)

Be of good cheer, Moana, darling
Parting brings such deep emotion
But tomorrow our parting must be
Tomorrow I’ll hear the seas calling
And again I’ll sail the wide ocean
But it’s for you that I sail the seas

I could never forget you
Don’t let your love stray, no never
I could never forget you, I know
I’ll remember your love true
And I’ll dream of you ever
On our isle where tradewinds blow

So, Aloha ‘oe Moana, darling
I swear to you deep devotion
Although parting, so sad must be
Tomorrow I’ll hear the seas calling
And again I’ll sail the wide ocean
But it’s for you that I sail the seas

Now as I go, Moana, darling
I leave you with pain and much sorrow
But I sail for your sake far away
So, kiss me as the sea is calling
And smile again for me tomorrow
On our isle where breezes play

I’ll think of you as seas are calling
And each night I’ll dream of you only
As far over the oceans I roam
My return I’ll not delay, Moana darling
For I’ll not leave you ever lonely
Please keep my love safe at home

I could never forget you
Don’t let your love stray, no never
I could never forget you, I know
I’ll remember your love true
And I’ll dream of you ever
On our isle where tradewinds blow

These Hawaiian Isles (Larry W. Jones 08/05/2003) (song#1839)

Rainbows are formed by the showers
In skies that are blue and grand
Tradewinds are scented by flowers
In Hawaii, paradise of golden sand

Old Lahaina was for whaling
And the tradewinds are still prevailing
Honolulu is the place to gather
And there’s no other place I’d rather be

Many islands there are that dreams are made of
But Hawaiian isles are the ones that I love

I have searched the world over
And to many isles I’ve been a rover
But of all the isles in the sea and foam
These Hawaiian isles will be my home

Old Lahaina was for whaling
And the tradewinds are still prevailing
Honolulu is the place to gather
And there’s no other place I’d rather be

I have searched the world over
And to many isles I’ve been a rover
But of all the isles in the sea and foam
These Hawaiian isles will be my home

Lei Of The Ti Leaf (Larry W. Jones 08/05/2003) (song#1840)

The ti leaf, with flowers is enwrapped
With pua blossoms as in a sarong
The ti leaf, as a beautiful lei will adapt
To love for two like a beautiful song

Hawaii is where the ti leaf displays
Its beauty entwined as a lei
With flowers that grow where breezes play
As my love for you grows today

Of all the garlands you choose, red, yellow or blues
Entwined with all hues is the ti leaf lei
Even though it’s quite new, let me make one for you
A sign of my love forever and a day

The ti leaf, with flowers is enwrapped
With pua blossoms as in a sarong
The ti leaf, as a beautiful lei will adapt
To love for two like a beautiful song

Of all the garlands you choose, red, yellow or blues
Entwined with all hues is the ti leaf lei
Even though it’s quite new, let me make one for you
A sign of my love forever and a day

Clear As A Ukulele (Larry W. Jones 08/05/2003) (song#1841)

Every momemt we’re together, I live for you
Every day, week and month of the year
Our love together guides a love true
Like a star toward which ships may steer

I care for you daily, my love isn’t maybe
Every day, week and month of the year
Clear as a ukulele, you’re my island baby
You fill my heart and my life with cheer

When I’m away, every day is forever
I can’t wait til I see you again
That I love you, don’t forget, no never
And my love for you will remain

I care for you daily, my love isn’t maybe
Every day, week and month of the year
Clear as a ukulele, you’re my island baby
You fill my heart and my life with cheer

When I’m away, every day is forever
I can’t wait til I see you again
That I love you, don’t forget, no never
And my love for you will remain

Kalua Pigs All Arranged (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1842)

Oh, give me a home where kalua pigs roam
Where the sea breeze blows on the bay
Where taro is stirred and poi is preferred
And the umu oven is buried all day

Pigs, kalua pigs all arranged
Where the sea breeze blows on the bay
Where taro is stirred and poi is preferred
And the umu oven is buried all day

At the luau at night when the moon is so bright
With the sound of the slack key guitars
Hula dance is the craze while kalua pigs braise
On the isles over oceans afar

Pigs, kalua pigs all arranged
Where the sea breeze blows on the bay
Where taro is stirred and poi is preferred
And the umu oven is buried all day

Where the ham isn’t cured and the pigs all run free
The luau is steamy at night
I would never exchange kalua pigs all arranged
For a gourmet in the city of light

Pigs, kalua pigs all arranged
Where the sea breeze blows on the bay
Where taro is stirred and poi is preferred
And the umu oven is buried all day

Oh, I love those wild pigs on this island of ours
The luau, of it each night I dream
I love the white hot rocks that are cooking ham hocks
Buried in the umu oven unseen

Pigs, kalua pigs all arranged
Where the sea breeze blows on the bay
Where taro is stirred and poi is preferred
And the umu oven is buried all day

I Will Try (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1843)

I will try to leave words unspoken
That might bring distress to your heart
Our love must be never broken
And never must our love depart

For kind are the winds that surround us
Bringing cheer to our hearts every day
And when such true love has found us
Nothing should drive true love away
And when such true love has found us
Nothing should drive true love away

I will try to be slow in speaking
And quick to listen to words untold
For love should not be a roof leaking
That lets in the rain and the cold

When the dew has fallen on the flower
It brings the blossom relief
My love for you grows every hour
And I would never bring to you grief
My love for you grows every hour
And I would never bring to you grief

I will try to never distress you
For my love is always sincere
By kind words I’ll always address you
And your love I will hold ever dear

The world may speak unkind things of you
But they are just words that will pass
But my words are simply that I love you
And my word is a truth will will last
But my words are simply that I love you
And my word is a truth will will last

Hawaiian Birdie’s Ball (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1844)

The bird of paradise said to the albatross
We need to throw an island birdie ball
You tell the nene goose and I’ll fly across
And call all island birds, big and small

Tra la la, tweedle lee dee, Hawaii birds, one and all
Fly from your islands to the Hawaiian birdie ball

They flew from all the isles of Hawaii
Practicing sweet songs with so much glee
Every island birdie flew from its nest
Dressed each one in its island best

Tra la la, tweedle lee dee, Hawaii birds, one and all
Fly from your islands to the Hawaiian birdie ball

The apapane and i’iwi danced for all their life
The nene goose waltzed with the palili bird’s wife
The bashful elepaio flew out of the way
And the oma’o did his dance by the bay

Tra la la, tweedle lee dee, Hawaii birds, one and all
Fly from your islands to the Hawaiian birdie ball

An akohekohe danced in the palm tree
And kept the amakihi in good company
Mokihana berries they all feasted upon
While dancing in the birdie ball’s tropic zone

Tra la la, tweedle lee dee, Hawaii birds, one and all
Fly from your islands to the Hawaiian birdie ball

They danced til the sun was going down
Then planned the next one in old Lahaina town
Then all the island birdies, big and small
Flew back to their islands from the Hawaiian birdie’s ball

After Daylight (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1845)

After daylight comes the twilight
Over islands in the west
The moon will rise in paradise
On my cottage where I go to rest

With weary steps I stroll on homeward
After toiling in the hot cane fields
With quickened pace I am stirred
For in my cottage love is revealed

After daylight comes the twilight
Over islands in the west
The moon will rise in paradise
On my cottage where I go to rest

After daylight there’s a unity
That only friends and family afford
It’s called ohana love here by the sea
Sweet is this love in one accord

After daylight is a pleasant time
When tradewinds blow fresh along
I rest my soul to sweet Maui chimes
And sing with my friends an island song

After daylight comes the twilight
Over islands in the west
The moon will rise in paradise
On my cottage where I go to rest

The moon will rise in paradise
On my cottage where I go to rest

Sailing From Home (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1846)

Sailing from home over this lonesome sea
Back on the island is where I long to be
Dreaming of those who are dreaming of me
Sailing and dreaming of your love for me

The clipper sails swiftly across oceans deep
And the skies are all fair on the watch that I keep
But a sigh fills my heart the farther I roam
Knowing I’m sailing away from our island home

Sailing from home over blue oceans deep
Your love in my heart I ever will keep

Sailing from home brings a pain to my heart
I’m saddened from knowing that we had to part
Aloha ‘oe means I’ll return from good bye
But sweet sorrow means my heart will still sigh

Returning again when the sailing is o’er
I’ll kiss you again on our island shore
But, for now I will sigh as the farther I roam
Though fair be the skies, I’m sailing from home

Sailing from home over blue oceans deep
Your love in my heart I ever will keep

A Happy Island Man (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1847)

Oh, I’m a happy island man
Joyful both the day and night
I love the life of island sand
For island life is my delight

The future is bright before me
So, there’s not a care I know
No need for sadness here, you see
Where island breezes freely flow

For island days roll on in peaceful ways
As I stroll on by the peaceful bays
The future is bright before me
So, there’s not a care I know
No need for sadness here, you see
Where island breezes freely flow

Mountains may be cloudy in the morn
But the tropic sun will shine through by noon
And the scent of fragrant blossoms adorn
The islands with their sweet perfume

So, sing a song and show a smile
Merrily as the palm trees gently sway
And for awhile, find paradise on the isle
After all, it’s just the island way

For island days roll on in peaceful ways
As I stroll on by the peaceful bays
The future is bright before me
So, there’s not a care I know
No need for sadness here, you see
Where island breezes freely flow

The Place We Met (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1848)

The place we met was where many have before
Did we dare to hope of meeting there again
Were dreams just dreams upon a distant shore
And would our meeting end in joy or pain

Again we met there on the shore until
We paused while strolling hand in hand
And we lingered with a sigh, knowing still
How brief this budding love in island sand
And we lingered with a sigh, knowing still
How brief this budding love in island sand

We met where many loves have met
Just as others on a distant shore
We strolled away the time, and yet
Love was just a dream and nothing more

We gazed upon the flaming setting sun
And watched the shorebirds at their play
It was like a dream and then was none
For too soon we each had to go our way

The moments on the island came and went
And now the years I number by the score
We strolled away the time that time had sent
But love was just a dream and nothing more
We strolled away the time that time had sent
But love was just a dream and nothing more

We met where many loves have met
Just as others on a distant shore
We strolled away the time, and yet
Love was just a dream and nothing more

Calling For Its Love (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1849)

The sun was setting over Hawaii
Twilight was quickly falling
As I strolled along the quiet valley
A bird of paradise was calling
I strolled alone discreetly
As the shadows fell around me
A bird of paradise sang sweetly
And the mem’ry still surrounds me

A bird of paradise was calling
Twilight was quickly falling
For its love it was sweetly calling
A bird of paradise was calling
Calling for its love

I strolled on over the meadow
Alone by the valley stream
I walked where few have tread, oh
Gazed at the sunset beaming
Walking alone in the twilight
Shadows the nighttime were bringing
Nothing can more fill me with delight
Than the bird of paradise singing

A bird of paradise was calling
Twilight was quickly falling
For its mate it was sweetly calling
A bird of paradise was calling
Calling for its love

I strolled on through the meadow
And by the stream murmuring jolly
And on the isle where breezes blow
Was a sweet voice so melancholy
Then the bird of paradise, this singer
Took wing and flew away forever
But its sweet song will forever linger
A song to its love forgotten never

A bird of paradise was calling
Twilight was quickly falling
For its mate it was sweetly calling
A bird of paradise was calling
Calling for its love

Sweet Island (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1850)

I know of a lovely island afar
Way over the deep blue sea
Where there is today, so sad a heart
Her eyes are there searching for me

So far the days have been only few
Since I left the girl that I knew
But it seems like a year
Away from the vows that we made
And I remember her tears
Before ever I sailed on the waves

Oh, that lovely island afar
Way over the deep blue sea
Oh, so dear to my heart you are
Sweet island of my sweet Leilani

A sunny isle on the horizon beyond
Over deep blue seas far away
There is a dream I’m dreaming so fond
Of a girl named Leilani, today

And I gaze afar at the sky
As ocean waves go slowly by
Of her island far over the sea
I hope dreams are worthwhile
And I think of her with a smile
And wonder if she dreams of me

Oh, that lovely island afar
Way over the deep blue sea
Oh, so dear to my heart you are
Sweet island of my sweet Leilani

Dream The Same Way (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1851)

If my dreams could all come true
I would dream of joy today
Health and wealth and a cheer or two
Where you live there by the bay

I would dream that in your life
Good things come calling at your feet
And I would dream you were my wife
To fill my heart with blessings sweet

If my dreams could all come true
And heartfelt longings not in vain
I would dream that maybe you
Would dream the same way I do

If my dreams could all come true
You would be here with me now
I would speak sweet words to you
And then live up to every vow

You would be here by my side
To sing me songs with gentle voice
And you would be my blushing bride
To make my lonely heart rejoice

If my dreams could all come true
And heartfelt longings not in vain
I would dream that maybe you
Would dream the same way I do

Lofty Mountains (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1852)

Lofty mountains are Hawaii’s glory
Proudly in the midst of isles they stand
Sung about in many an old talk story
And the theme of many island bands

Northwest, southeast standing duty
Where the tropic sunshine gleams
Throughout Hawaiian isles of beauty
Watering the many valley streams

Here the early sons of Hawaii
Sailed their canoes in days gone by
Here the mountains of the sea
Heard the island warriors battle cry

Here ohana love was made to flourish
Where the tradewinds softly play
Here the mountain valleys nourish
Rich island life down to this day

Lofty mountains of old Hawaii
I would love to climb your heights once more
Gaze at the beauty of your sea
And stroll the sand upon your shore

Oh, how my heart jumps with a rally
Thinking of how high you stand
From majestic skies to lush green valley
You are blessed by God’s own hand

Lofty mountains are Hawaii’s glory
And we will sing to you with praise
Songs of the old times told in story
Will be the theme in modern days

Time may see our footsteps wander
But we will return to you with care
For life itself we breath in wonder
From Hawaii’s lofty mountain air

A Cheer For The Ocean (Larry W. Jones 08/06/2003) (song#1853)

Let’s give a cheer for the ocean and the sea
Either one is home to a sailor man like me
The ocean with its waves so blue and bright
Breaks with a roar upon the shore to my delight

Give a cheer for the ocean
Give a cheer for the sea
Cheer a sailor’s heart with emotion
Give a cheer for me

I love the waves and a sailor brave
Who climbs the yard arm and the boom
And if the oceans refuse to save
Just bury me in Davy Joneses tomb

And give me the light of a moonlit night
That dances upon the sparkling waves
And a sky full of stars that twinkle afar
And one to guide that the heavens gave

Give a cheer for the ocean
Give a cheer for the sea
Cheer a sailor’s heart with emotion
Give a cheer for me

When there’s no seas left for a sailor to roam
And the oceans blow white with foam
Just let me be where I’m free at home
And I’ll say Ahoy mate to Davy Jones

Give a cheer for the ocean
Give a cheer for the sea
Cheer a sailor’s heart with emotion
Give a cheer for me

Melancholy Midnight Song (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1854)

It was on a warm summer night
Transformed by the silvery light
Of the moon in the tropic sky
When there fell a sorrowful tear
Like a dewdrop fresh and clear
From the island maiden’s eye

The familiar sound of sails unfurling
Like music around the harbor hurling
Had broken the midnight silence deep
And the melancholy midnight song
On the tradewind breeze was borne along
To wake the island maiden from her sleep

The first mate’s whistle for all aboard
Followed by the captain’s commanding word
Bade the ship away from the island steer
That midnight song had touched her heart
And before too long had caused to start
From the island maiden a sorrowful tear

The familiar sound of sails unfurling
Like music around the harbor hurling
Had broken the midnight silence deep
And the melancholy midnight song
On the tradewind breeze was borne along
To wake the island maiden from her sleep

That midnight song had touched her heart
And before too long had caused to start
From the island maiden a sorrowful tear
That midnight song had touched her heart
And before too long had caused to start
From the island maiden a sorrowful tear

Moana On That Day (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1855)

I kissed her lips and left her side
To sail for other distant climes
And promised to return upon the tide
She would be my bride with Maui chimes

Birds of paradise sung in their bowers
Rainbows shined through misty spray
The island tried in vain with flowers
To rival my Moana on that day

The arctic winds through rigging sings
And cold north wind now brings the snow
We filled the hold with mackeral king
And sailed back where warm breezes blow

I strolled back to her cottage home
But in sorrow I was turned away
Why was it that I should live to come
And not find my Moana on that day

She sleeps beneath the island sand
Without knowledge that I am there
Why cheat the dreams of island man
With such sleep when life is in the air

They say that spring will come again
With songs to sing and games to play
But my heart will ever feel the pain
Of such sleep for my Moana on that day

Love On An Island (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1856)

Love on an island makes you young
Young at heart where tradewinds blow
Love on an island is a candle light
Or a tiki torch giving off its glow

Love on an island makes you young
Troubles seem to melt into the sky
Love on an island is a different world
Where there’s no reason found to cry

Love on an island is a walk in the clouds
And the night time soon becomes the day
No dark clouds are seen where breezes play
It just seems to be the island way

Love on an island makes you young
Young at heart where tradewinds blow
Love on an island is a candle light
Or a tiki torch giving off its glow

Love on an island makes you young
And the whole wide world will know

Hawaiian Island Dreamin’ (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1857)

In old Lahaina town, where the palm trees sway
I’ve been for a stroll on a sunny summer day
I feel safe and warm in an island way
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day

Stopped awhile to search, for shells along the bay
Old Lahaina town will appease your mind to mend your ways
Winds blow as a teacher, from days of old
It’s just the island way
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day

In old Lahaina town, where the palm trees sway
I’ve been for a stroll on a sunny summer day
I wrote her a letter to come over here today
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day

Winds blow as a teacher, from days of old
It’s just the island way
I wrote her a letter to come over here today
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day
Hawaiian island dreamin’ on a sunny summer day

Sweet Little Leilani (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1858)

The sun is setting in this island place
The moon will soon be in the sky
The tropical stars will add to night’s grace
To remind me of her smile so shy

I will meet sweet little Leilani, that dear island maid
In the cottage door that looks out at sea
So, I must not delay as daylight now fades
For sweet little Leilani is waiting for me

My love only, sweet little Leilani
Living down by the sea
I’ll soon stroll beside you, under the moon
Sweet little Leilani is waiting for me

The moon is now climbing and twilight will fade
And the shore is a pathway for me
Soon I will be with my dear island maid
We’ll hear the thundering waves on the reef

My love only, sweet little Leilani
Living down by the sea
I’ll soon stroll beside you, under the moon
Sweet little Leilani is waiting for me

She will be with me tonight, strolling the shore
We’ll laugh all the while, I’ll see her sweet smile
And now, there’s my sweetheart, there in the door
Sweet little Leilani is waiting for me

Ke Ali’i o Kona i ka Lewa (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1859)

Ke Ali’i o Kona i ka Lewa
Guiding star in heaven so bright
Shining softly your silvery light
You have guided canoes from islands afar
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
Star of the heavens, wayfinding star

Wayfinding star, star of the heavens
From islands afar you guided canoes
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
All polynesia wants to thank you

Ke Ali’i o Kona i ka Lewa
Like eyes in the night, you seem to say
Come with me to isles far away
Polynesian sailors followed that star
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
Star of the heavens, wayfinding star

Wayfinding star, star of the heavens
From islands afar you guided canoes
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
All polynesia wants to thank you

Ke Ali’i o Kona i ka Lewa
Shine on, oh guiding star so divine
Shine on with your silvery light
Guide sailors safely to these isles of mine
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
Star of the heavens, wayfinding star

Wayfinding star, star of the heavens
From islands afar you guided canoes
Hokuahiahi, wayfinding star
All polynesia wants to thank you

Farewell My Island Love (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1860)

Island love, I will not forget you
Aloha ‘oe means goodbye from my heart
I have warmer, fonder mem’ries of you
So loving, gentle as you are

Aloha ‘oe, farewell
Aloha ‘oe, farewell my island love
Island love, I will not forget you
So loving, gentle as you are

Still, within, my heart is breaking
Since I sailed away to sea
This round world, my time is taking
Time when you’re not here with me

Aloha ‘oe, farewell
Aloha ‘oe, farewell my island love
Island love, I will not forget you
So loving, gentle as you are

Should this ship not return eventually
And sail its last upon the blue
Would you, for an hour, be missing me
I would be forever losing you

Aloha ‘oe, farewell
Aloha ‘oe, farewell my island love
Island love, I will not forget you
So loving, gentle as you are

My Own Beautiful Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 08/07/2003) (song#1861)

You may sing of your islands with beauties entrancing
Of sands that are faultless where you can repose
You may sing of shy glancing that calls for romancing
I guess that’s OK as far as it goes

You may hear island sounds that sound like the ringing
Of coconut shells and the sound of the sea
But only of one island group will I be heard singing
And that is my own beautiful Hawaii

My own beautiful Hawaii, isles of the sea
None can compare with my own beautiful Hawaii

You may boast of your islands with beautiful places
Of sands that are fine when you stroll in bare feet
You may boast of your islands and all of their graces
But none with beautiful Hawaii will ever compete

Though islands you sing of are almost perfection
It may all be true but I’ll never believe
That even the angels, upon close inspection
Would judge any better than my beautiful Hawaii

My own beautiful Hawaii, isles of the sea
None can compare with my own beautiful Hawaii

Twilight Thoughts Of You (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1862)

The twilight brings me thoughts of you
When the isle is quiet, calm and still
That twilight time with island love so true
With thoughts of you my heart does fill

The bird of paradise is in its nest
The calm breeze woos the honey bee
Soon will dewdrops form on flowers blessed
So, blessed my thoughts of you there by the sea

Then the tropic sun returns again
To shed its light where breezes play
My love is like the streamlet in the glen
That fulfills its love in ocean spray

When tropic skies with sunset glows
And I view the ocean waves of blue
When another island day is in repose
Another twilight brings me thoughts of you

If I could only linger at your side
And dream of you without a care
It would be just as the evening tide
With not a ripple forming there

If happenstance should be the chance
That you would say you love me too
Then forever may there be romance
And twilight bring me thoughts of you

Ku’u Ipo Kailani (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1863)

Oh, I smell the tuberoses in the island summer time
And listen to the music of those gentle Maui chimes
But far sweeter than tuberoses as the blossoms are to me
Is ku’u ipo Kailani, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea

Oh, my Kailani is the sweetest flower ever meant to be
Sweet and gentle, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea
Yes, she is the sweetest flower ever sent to comfort me
My ku’u ipo Kailani, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea

All the birds in paradise would surely answer to her call
And she loves the twilight when the pearly dewdrops fall
When we stroll together, she’s as welcome as can be
My ku’u ipo Kailani, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea

Oh, the honey bee may linger where the tuberoses grow
In the breeze of summer when the gentle tradewinds blow
But the bees will go unheeded when it’s Kailani that I see
For my honey is Kailani, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea

Oh, my Kailani is the sweetest flower ever meant to be
Sweet and gentle, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea
Yes, she is the sweetest flower ever sent to comfort me
My ku’u ipo Kailani, my sweetheart Kailani by the sea

Islands Warm I See (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1864)

There are blossoms on the mokihana berry
And blossoms on the mountain apple there
And today my heart is light and airy
With the hopes that today are blooming there

Now that the sorrow and the weeping
That the arctic blasts have brought to me
Before the mast are now in the past sleeping
Now that there are islands warm I see

I am dreaming of my lover
Who, in her heart is true to me
Now that the arctic storms are over
And there are islands warm I see
Now that the arctic storms are over
And there are islands warm I see

When the bloom of Kauai mokihana berries
Are white upon the vine around the tree
When there’s blooms of Kauai mokihana berries
Then, my love, I’ll come sailing o’re the sea

So, I told her when last we parted
While her tears fell on the deck in grief
That I pray she not be broken hearted
In her dread of storm and wreck upon the reef

Now when the mokihana berries blossom
They bring my dear love near to me
And on the isle our love will blossom
Now that there are islands warm I see
And on the isle our love will blossom
Now that there are islands warm I see

Dawning Love (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1865)

Bubbles in the wine were pearly
And sweet was the island’s song
Love for us had come so early
And we would make it linger long

Island love was at the dawning
Fresh as tuberoses in the dew
Island love had found a morning
To grow with tenderness so true
Island love had found a morning
To grow with tenderness so true

Her sweet lips like wine were meeting
Meeting mine there by the sea
And they both were soon repeating
Words of love that were meant to be

Her eyes were bright as the dawning
And true love I was seeing there
Island love had found a morning
To grow quickly in the island air
Island love had found a morning
To grow quickly in the island air

Maui chimes were softly sounding
And on the air their echoes rang
Our hearts with joy were now rebounding
Island love was the song that they sang

Island love was at the dawning
Fresh as tuberoses in the dew
Island love had found a morning
To grow with tenderness so true
Island love had found a morning
To grow with tenderness so true

Flowers That Adorn A Lei (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1866)

In an island cottage home, as the tropic sun was low
Sat an island man and his little daughter Leilani
His daughter Leilani, as he bounced her on his knee
Said you promised to tell me a talk story of long ago

Please tell me now at last, about my mother, Leilani asked
Please tell me how she looked before she died
This is what the island man said as he lowered his head
To hide the tears in his eyes as he replied

She was prettier than all the flowers that adorn a lei
She was warmer than the waters filling up the bay
And I remember as if yesterday her angel glow
When your mother said I do, not so many years ago

We were married on the beach
And we tried in every way to teach
Ohana love to make our cottage house a home
Then came a happy island morn
That’s when you were born
But for your mother, future days would never come

She was prettier than all the flowers that adorn a lei
She was warmer than the waters filling up the bay
And I remember as if yesterday her angel glow
When your mother said I do, not so many years ago

In an island cottage home, as the tropic sun was low
Sat an island man and his little daughter Leilani
Though life itself may some day depart
Ohana island love still plays its part
For you are prettier than all the flowers that adorn a lei
For you are prettier than all the flowers that adorn a lei

Hele Mai Sweet Kailani (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1867)

When the tropic sun is sinking
Past my home behind the hill
And tradewinds are softly singing
Through broken windows of the old sugar mill

When birds of paradise are sleeping
And night watch the stars are keeping
Hele mai, come to me, sweet Kailani
Kailani, come to me down by the sea

When birds of paradise (birds of paradise) are sleeping
And night watch the stars are keeping
Hele mai, come to me (come to me), sweet Kailani
Kailani, come to me down by the sea

Hele mai, come sweet Kailani, and softly tell
That your love for me is still as true
As when first upon my ears your promise fell
Pleasant as when flowers meet the dew

I will wait for you, sweet Kailani
By the old wishing well
When those Maui chimes are tolling
To the summer day, Aloha ‘oe, farewell

When birds of paradise (birds of paradise) are sleeping
And night watch the stars are keeping
Hele mai, come to me (come to me), sweet Kailani
Kailani, come to me down by the sea

Wings Of Island Love (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1868)

I feel so lonely strolling by the side of the sea
Looking at the turning of the tropic skies
My heart is sinking lowly as the tide of the lee
And tears like rain are falling from my eyes

The waves still sparkle as they kiss the shore
Reminding me of lips I’ll kiss never more
Reminding me of lips I’ll kiss never more

On the wings of island love she sailed away
From my arms that loved to hold her so
And the things we did where breezes play
Are the charms that lead down mem’ry road
And the things we did where breezes play
Are the charms that lead down mem’ry road

As I view the beauty of the flowers on the way
They speak sweet sorrow of my dreams of love
And how happy the songbird flying o’re the bay
Bringing mem’ries of the one I’m thinking of

But my love behind those memories has flown
Those pleasures that I once could call my own
Those pleasures that I once could call my own

On the wings of island love she sailed away
From my arms that loved to hold her so
And the things we did where breezes play
Are the charms that lead down mem’ry road
And the things we did where breezes play
Are the charms that lead down mem’ry road

Your Polynesian Eyes (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1869)

Oh, turn to me your polynesian eyes
No ocean’s treasure just as rare
Could buy more beautiful a prize
Or a gem to behold with loving care

Island love shines from their liquid deep
Like tropic stars of a summer night
That in their heavenly kingdom keeps
The flames of love here burning bright

Oh, your gentle polynesian eyes
Brighter than these tropic skies
Or flowers anywhere in paradise
Oh, turn to me your polynesian eyes

Oh, eyes of Tahitian black pearl’s hue
A gift of island love that shines
If words could make my dreams come true
I would find the ones to make you mine

So, turn to me your enchanting glance
For you are all I dare to crave
And though another should claim romance
My heart will forever be your slave

Oh, your gentle polynesian eyes
Brighter than these tropic skies
Or flowers anywhere in paradise
Oh, turn to me your polynesian eyes
Oh, turn to me your polynesian eyes

Happy Times Are Here (Larry W. Jones 08/08/2003) (song#1870)

The old sugar mill wheel rolls in the stream
The wood for the paddles came from Bali
Huapia in the kitchen is left to steam
Sweet dessert to belay melancholy

Papa’s in the living room reading mail
Kids swimming in the stream at the pond below
Shorebirds are perched on the garden rail
Happy times are here where the breezes blow

The old sugar mill wheel rolls in the stream
The wood for the paddles came from Bali
Huapia in the kitchen is left to steam
Sweet dessert to belay melancholy

There goes Kimo to catch the kalua pig
Keoki gets the shovel for the umu pit to dig
Slack key and ukulele playing at the setting sun
Everybody at the luau is having fun

Lana does the hula with her smoothest grace
The beat of the drums quicken the pace
The moon just rising has a golden glow
Happy times are here where the breezes blow

The old sugar mill wheel rolls in the stream
The wood for the paddles came from Bali
Huapia in the kitchen is left to steam
Sweet dessert to belay melancholy

The moon just rising has a golden glow
Happy times are here where the breezes blow
Happy times are here where the breezes blow
Happy times are here where the breezes blow

Like Yonder Island Rose (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1871)

Love is just like yonder island rose
Heavenly fragrance wanders where it grows
Island love its dewey leaves disclose
Love is just like yonder island rose
Just like yonder island rose

Grown to adorn a flower lei
Or to provide a sweet bouquet
Yonder island rose growing by the bay
Love is just like yonder island rose
Just like yonder island rose

With gentle hands the bud is severed
It dies, to grow another day, no never
But the thorns will be as sharp as ever
Love is just like yonder island rose
Just like yonder island rose

I lost your love there by the bay
I lost my dreams of love that day
Oh, why did you have to go away
Love is just like yonder island rose
Just like yonder island rose

With gentle hands the bud is severed
It dies, to grow another day, no never
But the thorns will be as sharp as ever
Love is just like yonder island rose
Just like yonder island rose

A Ticket To An Island (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1872)

The mainland sun is hot and sinkin’ low
That I know
Workin’ night shift, wishin’ I was set adrift
Where breezes blow
I’m feelin’ all alone, dreamin’ of a tropic zone
And the boss won’t leave me alone
I’d like to email my resignation for another destination
I think I’ll just sail away

Get me a ticket to an island
Make it Hawaii blue, for a dream come true
Here I’m in deep despair, need a breath of tradewind air
Folks are livin’ on island time somewhere

Oh, this night shift is gonna take all night
But that’s all right
Some yellow moon will be risin’ soon
Over some blue lagoon
That Hawaiian vacation is my certain destination
Get me a ticket to an island
I think I’ll just sail away

Get me a ticket to an island
Make it Hawaii blue, for a dream come true
Here I’m in deep despair, need a breath of tradewind air
Folks are livin’ on island time somewhere

I could roll over my 401 for some rollin’ waves and sun
And make a dream come true
Some yellow moon will be risin’ soon
Over some blue lagoon
That Hawaiian vacation is my certain destination
Get me a ticket to an island
I think I’ll just sail away

Get me a ticket to an island
Make it Hawaii blue, for a dream come true
Here I’m in deep despair, need a breath of tradewind air
Folks are livin’ on island time somewhere

Get me a ticket to an island
Get me a ticket to an island
Get me a ticket to an island

There Should Have Been (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1873)

Well, I hear there’s an island in the stream
Where you don’t even need to think about a dream
No sleep, no need, it’s guaranteed for you
Just stroll in the sand, and man, the dreams come true

And they say there’s a place where the sun goes down
That’s so old, they call it old Lahaina town
No shoes, no blues, no plans, just island sand
Where anybody can be an island man

If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been
A place where island love begins
With your hand in mine on that isle shore line
If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been

And I hear there’s a tropic moon that you can buy
I heard it in an island song that doesn’t lie
Sonny Chillingworth said for what it’s worth
He would buy a rainbow from the sky

If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been
A place where island love begins
With your hand in mine on that isle shore line
If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been

There’s old Lahaina town in Hawaii blue
And a star or two to wish along with you
A place where island dreams come around again
If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been

If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been
A place where island love begins
With your hand in mine on that isle shore line
If that’s not the case, then let’s face it, there should have been

Bungalow Island Home (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1874)

Sittin’ on the bungalow porch on a tropic afternoon
In a rockin’ chair, just waitin’ there for the tropic moon
Watch the shorebirds fly in the evening sky
And listen for the crickets that’ll be chirping soon

In my bungalow island home
The pace of life is slow on island time
In my bungalow island home
Tradewinds blow and dreams are mine

Tuberoses grow where the breezes flow along
Their fragrance floats like the notes of an island song
On the island sand there’s an island band playing too
Songs that make you dream while dreams come true

In my bungalow island home
The pace of life is slow on island time
In my bungalow island home
Tradewinds blow and dreams are mine

Sunday manoa means lots of time with the one you love
Just strollin’, rollin’ with the flow
Where the breezes blow
And just holdin’ hands on the porch of my island bungalow

In my bungalow island home
The pace of life is slow on island time
In my bungalow island home
Tradewinds blow and dreams are mine

In my bungalow island home
The pace of life is slow on island time
In my bungalow island home
Tradewinds blow and dreams are mine

Tahiti Wahini Polynesian Dream (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1875)

My Tahiti wahini, here’s a song for a tropic June
Underneath the island moon with my ukulele in tune
My dream came true when I met you
My Tahiti wahini, polynesian dream

Seventeen degrees below the equator line
Down where the tropic sun will always shine
That’s where the tradewinds are blowin’
That’s where island love is growin’

Guys on the mainland in business suits
Wheelin’, dealin’ in all those big time pursuits
Dreamin’ of islands in the stream
Like my Tahiti wahini, polynesian dream

My Tahiti wahini, here’s a song for a tropic June
Underneath the island moon with my ukulele in tune
My dream came true when I met you
My Tahiti wahini, polynesian dream

Livin’ south of the equator
I just had to do it sooner or later
Drinkin’ island punch in the tropic breeze
With my Tahiti wahini wantin’ a squeeze

Sittin’ in the island sun, Tahiti dreamin’
Livin’ where I used to just be schemin’ of
Livin’ south of the equator
I just had to find a southern equatorial love

My Tahiti wahini, here’s a song for a tropic June
Underneath the island moon with my ukulele in tune
My dream came true when I met you
My Tahiti wahini, polynesian dream

My dream came true when I met you
My Tahiti wahini, polynesian dream

Just Love On Island Time (Larry W. Jones 08/13/2003) (song#1876)

I would sail across the ocean in a leaky sailing ship
To share with you the last sweet wine I had to sip
I would take time out to see that all your dreams come true
And if your dreams are fading, let me show what I can do

True love is not a dream
Not just something in your mind
True love is not a dream
It’s just love on island time
It’s just love on island time

Tradewinds will whisper love so softly, you’ll understand
I will prove my love so often that I’m your island man
You will be my heart’s desire living by the sea
Strolling hand in hand is the first step
That brings your heart to me

True love is not a dream
Not just something in your mind
True love is not a dream
It’s just love on island time
It’s just love on island time

When we’re strolling there together
With a flower in your hair
Our love will stand all kinds of weather
You’ll know how much I care
You’ll know how much I care

True love is not a dream
Not just something in your mind
True love is not a dream
It’s just love on island time
It’s just love on island time

Looking For Your Island (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1877)

Tradewinds have found me here again
Don’t ask a sailor where he’s been
I guess I’ve been around the world and back again
Tradewinds have found me here again

I hope you understand my earnest plea
I had to visit all the seven seas
But after all I saw, Hawaii called
I guess I was looking for your island after all

Looking for your island
Not just any island in the stream
Looking for your island
I was just searching for a dream
But after all I saw, Hawaii called
I guess I was looking for your island after all

We dropped the anchor at the dawn
I’ve missed you every day since I’ve been gone
You’re the only one who made Hawaii call
I guess I was looking for your island after all

You’re the only one who made Hawaii call
I guess I was looking for your island after all

What New Island Love (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1878)

You’re strollin’ down the beach with a smile that’s out of place
Strollin’ hand in hand with somebody new
If you’re tryin’ to teach me a lesson
You could have told it to my face
Baby, don’t be cruel to a heart that’s loving you

Baby, don’t be cruel to a heart that’s loving you
It’s just not cool to be here missing you
Baby, you’ve started to make me broken hearted
Strollin’ hand in hand with somebody new
Baby, come make my dreams come true
Baby, don’t make my dreams turn blue

Tradewinds whisper around
That you’ve been seen in old Lahaina town
You’re kissin’ under the full moon light
While I’m missin’ my sweet delight
Wonderin’ what new island love you’ve found

Baby, don’t be cruel to a heart that’s loving you
It’s just not cool to be here missing you
Baby, you’ve started to make me broken hearted
Strollin’ hand in hand with somebody new
Baby, come make my dreams come true
Baby, don’t make my dreams turn blue

You’re kissin’ under the full moon light
While I’m missin’ my sweet delight
Wonderin’ what new island love you’ve found
What new island love you’ve found

Back In Old Lahaina Town (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1879)

Tradewinds, go whisper the message all around
Tell Leilani I’m back in town
The ship is docked and the anchor’s down
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

Get your dancin’ shoes on real fast
I’m done with sailin’ before the mast
It’s romancin’ time at last
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

Yeah, tell Leilani I’m back in town
Her true love can still be found
No more will I be ocean bound
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

I’ve been gone for quite some time
Leilani’s the only true love that I’ve found
This time I’m gonna make her mine
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

Tradewinds, go whisper the message all around
Tell Leilani I’m back in town
The ship is docked and the anchor’s down
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

The ship is docked and the anchor’s down
Tell Leilani I’m back in old Lahaina town

All Of My Love (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1880)

If you would take all of my love
I would give you all of my everything
We could start with a wedding ring
My heart won’t be a lonely island in the stream

If you would take all of my love
I would make all of my vows come true
I would never allow you to be blue
If you would take all of my love

Oh, how I missed you every day
I was so blue when I sailed away
Oh, how I missed the winds that blow
Your love where island life is slow

If you would take all of my love
I would make all of my vows come true
I would never allow you to be blue
If you would take all of my love

If you would take all of my love
I would give you all of my everything
We could start with a wedding ring
My heart won’t be a lonely island in the stream

If you would take all of my love
I would make all of my vows come true
I would never allow you to be blue
If you would take all of my love

The Way To Paradise (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1881)

For many moons I’ve sailed the seas, island darlin’
Like a rover, I have roamed the seven seas
Only heartaches came to me, oh, how I would like to see
That same smile again upon your face for me

If I should sail back home tonight, would you be there, island darlin’
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise
Would you hold me with delight, love me each and every night
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise

When tuberoses send their fragrance on the breeze
I remember island flowers planted at our cottage door
Now I’m island bound and I dreamed you said to me
That your love was waiting on that island shore

If I should sail back home tonight, would you be there, island darlin’
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise
Would you hold me with delight, love me each and every night
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise

Last night I dreamed that you and I would never part
We strolled hand in hand in that tropic zone
And it seemed so true that my love was in your heart
Then I awoke to find that I was dreaming all alone

If I should sail back home tonight, would you be there, island darlin’
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise
Would you hold me with delight, love me each and every night
Would your polynesian eyes show the way to paradise
Yeah, would they show the way to paradise

One Memory (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1882)

One memory, that’s all it takes
One memory, for my heartaches
One broken heart for a love that’s lost
And all it costs is just one memory

I remember when we strolled hand in hand
I remember then that I was your island man
I’m reminded of your kindliness
Now I find it in the loneliness of just one memory

One memory, that’s all it takes
One memory, for my heartaches
One broken heart for a love that’s lost
And all it costs is just one memory

Do you remember how it was that day
I remember giving you that fragrant flower lei
I’m reminded of your loveliness
Now I find it in the loneliness of just one memory

I remember dreams that once came true
It seems that they were all wrapped up in you
I’m reminded of our happiness
Now I find it in the loneliness of just one memory

One memory, that’s all it takes
One memory, for my heartaches
One broken heart for a love that’s lost
And all it costs is just one memory

One memory, that’s all it takes
One memory, for my heartaches
One broken heart for a love that’s lost
And all it costs is just one memory

South Sea Island Baby (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1883)

I love my south sea island baby
She means so much to me
I love my south sea island baby
I love her tenderly
She’s my guiding southern star
My pride where tradewind breezes are

I love my south sea island baby
She’s so special and so sweet
Since the first time she said maybe
All my dreams have been complete
She means everything to me
She’s my baby of the southern seas

There’s just the two of us here on this isle of love
There’s nobody else we’re even thinking of
Here on the sand by the deep blue sea
She will always be my south sea island baby

Oh yeah, she’s my south sea island baby
She never lets me down
She’s my lovely island lady
An island queen with a tiare crown
She’s my south sea island baby, don’t you know
You see, that’s why I love her so

She’s my guiding southern star
My pride where tradewind breezes are
She’s my south sea island baby
My south sea island baby

Island In The Moonlight (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1884)

I would love to hear those Maui chimes
On the island in the moonlight
When you and I are strolling in the sand
And I’m your island man

I would love to hear the breezes whisper
On the island in the moonlight
That the love in your eyes that shine
Will forever be mine

Until the flowers never bloom
Until they lose all their perfume
Until then I’ll find the room
For your love within my heart

I would love to hear you whisper
On the island in the moonlight
That you will forever be my lovelight
Just as you are tonight

Until the flowers never bloom
Until they lose all their perfume
Until then I’ll find the room
For your love within my heart

I would love to hear you whisper
On the island in the moonlight
That you will forever be my lovelight
Just as you are tonight

She’s The Girl (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1885)

Leilani lives over the ocean
On the big island called Hawaii
Leilani lives over the ocean
She’s the girl I’m going to see

Leilani lives over the ocean
On the big island called Hawaii
Oh, Leilani lives over the ocean
And she’s the girl I’m going to see

A little grass shack on the starboard tack
On Kealakekua Bay
Leilani lives just a little way back
From the shore where palm trees sway

Leilani lives over the ocean
On the big island called Hawaii
Oh, Leilani lives over the ocean
And she’s the girl I’m going to see

A little hula girl where the breakers curl
And a smile like precious pearls
Leilani fills my heart with love
No wonder it’s in a whirl

Leilani lives over the ocean
On the big island called Hawaii
Oh, Leilani lives over the ocean
And she’s the girl I’m going to see

Go With Me (Larry W. Jones 08/14/2003) (song#1886)

Go with me
Just send your dreams on the tradewind air
Listen carefully
And you will know that my love is there
Go with me
Far away across the vast blue sea
Listen carefully
And you will know that your heart and mine agree

Here in my lonely room
It’s night time even when it’s day
Help me escape this gloom
And chase these lonely blues away
Those words I said to you
Even caught me by surprise
I have to find a way
To bring you back to paradise

Go with me
Just send your dreams on the tradewind air
Listen carefully
And you will know that my love is there
Go with me
Far away across the vast blue sea
Listen carefully
And you will know that your heart and mine agree

I can’t explain what seems to me
To be the only way our love should be
So here I am pleadingly
Asking you to just go with me
So here I am pleadingly
Asking you to just go with me

You’ve Gone Away (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1887)

My heart is sad and blue because of you
It’s a cloudy, rainy day since you went away
Don’t you know I love you so, it’s true
I’m lonely for you only since you went away

What’s tormenting me seems to be my memories
Of skies now gray that once were blue with a love so true
From my eyes now flow but tears since you disappeared
And I wish that you were still here with me loving you

Your smile could wipe away my tears if you were here
If you were mine again, then the sun would shine
But I guess such things will never be, that’s just reality
Because the love you took away is no longer mine

My thoughts of you are as soft as the island breeze
And now you ought to come back for my heart to appease

My heart is sad and blue because of you
It’s a cloudy, rainy day since you went away
Don’t you know I love you so, it’s true
I’m lonely for you only since you went away

Oh my love, you’ve gone away
Aloha ‘oe

Awake Island Beauty (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1888)

Awake, island beauty, the night stars are shining
Soft tradewinds flow sweetly over the distant reef
A songbird of love, for your young heart is pining
Playing the strings of affection for you and for me

Those Maui chimes, which have been lately silent
Now sounds on the wind with a soft melody
And the songbirds of tomorrow, never in sorrow
Will join in sweet refrains for your love by the sea

Moonbeams gaily dancing on waves so entrancing
And the stars shining in the sky heavenly
In all of their brightness with mystery and freshness
Are there just to guide your love straight to me

The tuberose is weeping, from dew that is seeping
Awake, island beauty, for a sigh is set free
From a face of such beauty, a smile not be keeping
For love is the duty of islands in the sea

Moonbeams gaily dancing on waves so entrancing
And the stars shining in the sky heavenly
In all of their brightness with mystery and freshness
Are there just to guide your love straight to me

The tuberose is weeping, from dew that is seeping
Awake, island beauty, for a sigh is set free
From a face of such beauty, a smile not be keeping
For love is the duty of islands in the sea

Simple Island Boy (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1889)

I ain’t gonna sing at Na Hoku Hanohano ball
Ain’t gonna marry down by the bay
It’s kinda scary lovin’ an island girl
Who wears a fancy flower lei

Cause I’m just a simple island boy
Seems money has never come
But I still love my fish and poi
Workin’ hard in the island sun
Workin’ hard in the island sun

I’m never gonna stroll hand in hand
With the prettiest girl in old Lahaina town
I’m never gonna be her island man
She would just say I’m a clown

Cause I’m just a simple island boy
Seems money has never come
But I still love my fish and poi
Workin’ hard in the island sun
Workin’ hard in the island sun

I never could find the girl to sing
To her a song of island love or two
The only thing that I could bring
Is this heart with a love so true

Cause I’m just a simple island boy
Seems money has never come
But I still love my fish and poi
Workin’ hard in the island sun
Workin’ hard in the island sun

Green Tropic Hills (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1890)

Green tropic hills, my island’s glories
Proudly in oceans blue you stand
The scene of many old island talk stories
Theme of many an island band

Here the ocean voyagers proudly
Sailed long canoes in years gone by
Here the mountains echoed loudly
With the island warriors’ battle cry

Green tropic hills of fair Hawaii
Oh, I will tread your heights once more
View horizons of the peaceful sea
And stroll again there on your shore

Green tropic hills, my island’s glories
Forever will the oceans sing your praise
Forever will there be old talk stories
And songs of island flower leis

Time may lead my feet to wander
But forever my dreams are filled
With Hawaii’s lush green vallies
And my return to green tropic hills

Time may lead my feet to wander
But forever my dreams are filled
With Hawaii’s lush green vallies
And my return to green tropic hills

Because Of You (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1891)

As I hold your gentle hand
I know just why I understand
I want to be your island man
The reason’s simple to be seen
There’s no other love that’s in between
You’re simply my everything

Because of you
I feel just like a king
I bring to you
All my love, my island queen

Because of you
I don’t have to wonder why
Why my dreams are so near by
And why they’re all coming true
It’s all because of you
All the sweet things that you do
And it’s easy when I see your smile
You make my life worthwhile
Because of you and your sweet love

Because of you
I feel just like a king
I bring to you
All my love, my island queen

I will come to you without delay
Bring you flowers for your lei
It’s because of you that I can say

Because of you
I feel just like a king
I bring to you
All my love, my island queen

Leilani, it’s all because of you

My Golden Moonglow (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1892)

I see the golden moonglow in your polynesian eyes
And I’m seeing all the love as pure as gold in paradise
I find that love is made so easy when I’m here with you
Your smile has a magic way of saying that you love me too

Here on the isle, if I’m ever feeling down and blue
You stroll along, hand in my hand, and that is when I know
Your love is pure as gold where breezes blow

Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow

You’re the reason why I know that dreams come true
And I’m seeing all the love as pure as gold in you
I see the golden moonglow in your polynesian eyes
You’re the one true love I’ve found in paradise

Here on the isle, if I’m ever feeling down and blue
You stroll along, hand in my hand, and that is when I know
Your love is pure as gold where breezes blow

Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow

Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow
Love, you’re my golden moonglow

In This Island Sand (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1893)

Sand…
I’ve been strolling all alone watching time go by
In this island sand
Strolling in the sand while watching shorebirds fly
Wondering if there will ever be
Someone waiting in my lonely cottage just for me
The tradewind has whispered words that I hope come true
It says I might be strolling soon with you
In this island sand

Looking up just in time to see lovers strolling by
In this island sand
And it looks as if they’ve found their paradise
I wonder if the pace of life will bring us face to face
The tradewind has whispered words that I hope come true
It says I might be strolling soon with you
In this island sand

So many dreams that I can’t find
So many songs that just don’t rhyme
I wonder if I’ll ever see the time
When I’ll be coming home to you
The tradewind has whispered words that I hope come true
It says I might be strolling soon with you
In this island sand

There’s a lot of songs of island love in paradise
Right here on this shore
But I need one that hasn’t been sung before
The tradewind has whispered words that I hope come true
It says I might be strolling soon with you
So, I’m just practicing here alone
In this island sand

Yeah, maybe I’ll be strolling soon with you
Right here in this island sand

Old Hawaiian Cowboy (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1894)

There’s a little shack along the shore
The old Hawaiian cowboy calls it home
Nowadays he just watches the shorebirds flying by
And he sits and drinks his lava lager ale
Rocking to memories he knows so well
Just an old Hawaiian cowboy with tales to tell

His dreams are the only life he knows
Riding herd where the tradewind blows
His paniolo spurs still have their shine
Once he was young and in his prime
We can only imagine how he feels
Still herdin’ longhorns on those Maui hills

Those same soft tradewinds by him blow
Just like they did in years ago
Drivin’ longhorns through the surf was his game
To the ships waiting on their anchor chain
Some Hawaiian cowboys still sometimes ask
Wasn’t herding cows back then an awesome task
Now that old Hawaiian roundups are gone and past

He strolls into old Lahaina town
Just as the tropic sun is going down
Wishin’ he could still tie his pony to a rail
Some modern Maui trailboss and his crew
Buys him a lava lager ale or two
And tonight he’ll be ridin’ herd in dreams anew

Old Hawaiian cowboy
Ridin’ herd in old Lahaina town
The tropic sun is goin’ down
On old Hawaiian cowboys in old Lahaina town

Dreams To The Wind (Larry W. Jones 08/15/2003) (song#1895)

I sail tall ships
I must have sailed every one
I had to prove I could do the fastest ocean run
As a tall mast sailor, there was none better
I broke her heart every time I sailed away

I’ll spread my dreams to the wind
Out on the ocean blue
Sailin’ is the same as breathin’ for a sailor man, it’s true
I know I must go
When the outgoing tide begins to flow
And she’ll be alone like an island rose
When I spread my dreams to the wind

I swore this would be my last ocean trip
But that’s what I said when I boarded every ship
I guess I never realized that the greatest prize
Was waiting in that cottage back home in paradise

I know she’s standing by that little cottage gate
Under the tropic sky
Wondering when I’ll quit spreading my dreams to the wind
And so do I

Under Southern Skies (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1896)

Searching for islands
Wayfinding in their long canoes
They settled the islands in valleys, mountains and shores
A few hundred years later
They still paddle canoes
In the midst of talk stories from old, told one time more

Steering by the swells
Fighting winds and sails
A young wahini impatient for her new island in the spring
Everything that they own
Sailing into the great unknown
I wonder if those old wayfinders can still hear us sing

We will sail under southern skies
Searching for islands of paradise
Across blue oceans deep and wide
Steering by the stars and moon
Praying for a landfall soon
Through the storms of the day and night
The wayfinding star will shine its light
And we will sail under southern skies

Seems freedom never came with much ease
Even when sailing on a tradewind breeze
Some were lost but some made it to paradise
If you look close in the tropic sand
There’s footprints of wahini and island man
And they sailed under southern skies

If you look close in the tropic sand
There’s footprints of wahini and island man
And they sailed under southern skies
And they sailed under southern skies

Island Sand And Lace (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1897)

Some say island love is the very best kind
I know for a fact that it was mine
Then she strolled away without a trace
Just a memory of island sand and lace

They say a heart is something you can steal
But I lost her’s and mine won’t heal
I didn’t try hard enough and I lost the race
Just a memory of island sand and lace

She didn’t ask for a lot, not even much
All she needed was a gentle touch
She was my dream come true, with grace
Just a memory of island sand and lace

I know now what I can’t do again
She needed more than just now and then
I still see the love written on her face
Just a memory of island sand and lace

Some say island love is the very best kind
I know for a fact that it was mine
Then she strolled away without a trace
Just a memory of island sand and lace
Just a memory of island sand and lace

That Ship Of Dreams (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1898)

It was a ship of dreams, don’t you know
I never have been where the tradewinds blow
I hear a song in the sails about islands in the stream
I will sail forever on that ship of dreams

Down by the docks in that coastal town
Poor young boys just hangin’ around
We waited for ships coming from the setting sun
For us young boys, the dreams had just begun

A speck on the horizon when the sails appeared
Just past the breakers we could hear the cheers
And the anchor dropped as the chain winch screamed
We wondered if we would ever sail that ship of dreams

We would just hang around the docks all day
Watching people disembark with their flower leis
They had been to islands we had never seen
What an adventure they had on that ship of dreams

The wind through the rigging still moans
Like some far away siren’s call
I still haven’t been to islands or tropic zones
This coastal town dock is what I’ve seen, that’s all
Some day I’ll buy a ticket on that ship of dreams

Ku’u Ka Loke Nani (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1899)

Ku’u Ka Loke Nani, my beautiful rose
Wherever it is you are, beauty goes
Ku’u Ka Loke Nani, my beautiful rose
You are my sweet lei of love, heaven knows

Your fragrance is that of jasmine
Your voice is a cherished song
You are the dream of island men
But it is to me that you belong

Ku’u Ka Loke Nani, my beautiful rose
We stroll the sand together
You are prettier than the heather
Beautiful rose where the tradewind blows

When you are close to me
Love is filling every breeze
The island is in repose
Ku’u Ka Loke Nani, my beautiful rose

Your love to me is such a gift
Ku’u Ka Loke Nani, my beautiful rose
Away from your side I’ll never drift
Every day is a song of love composed

Ha`ina `ia mai ka puana la
Let the refrain be told
Of ku’u ka loke nani, my beautiful rose
My sweetheart, my rose of love

Nineteen Hundred (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1900)

Nineteen hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Nineteen hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Nineteen hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

If you ever ask me how long for you my love will be
Nineteen hundred lifetimes, then we would wait and see
If I could do it over, not a thing would I ever change
I could sing you island songs of love that I’ve arranged

If you ever ask me how deep for you my love will be
I can only tell you that my love is deeper than the sea
Nineteen hundred fathoms down lives cousin Davy Jones
Says I’ve got more songs to write about these tropic zones

Nineteen hundred miles an hour, to get me to my love
Nineteen hundred ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Eighteen hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
Nineteen hundred songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

Sailors Til We Die (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1901)

On the waves beyond the blue
Just below the horizon line
Looking for a star that’s true
We’ll go sailing back in time

We were fellow sailors when we met
Weathered faces not quite ideal
And we’ll sail into the sunset
Because we know how islands feel

I can see you still have dreams
Even through the nights so dark
Life ain’t never what it seems
But there’s a sailor in your heart

We’ll be like sailor men so salty
We’ll find the way where we have been
Rum eighty proof and faulty
We’ll sail the wild blue seas again

We will set those sails a-singin’
Like we did right from the start
Tradewinds are still a-bringin’
A ship with a sailor in your heart

We love the feel of freedom
That comes with the wind and sky
We will sail the briny foam
And be sailors til we die

That Tropic Moon (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1902)

It may be just an illusion
But I know there’s no confusion
It may be just wishing for a dream to come true
But it seems just right to feel the way I do
But it seems just right to feel the way I do

That tropic moon is up there for just one reason
The topic down here is one thing that’s always in season
I didn’t want to fall in love, so it must be treason
That tropic moon made me fall in love tonight
That tropic moon made me fall in love tonight

Those golden moonbeams cast so soft a shadow
Or could it be your touch that makes me so glad, oh
I feel all my defences start to falling
Every time that tropic moon comes a-calling
Every time that tropic moon comes a-calling

It may be just an illusion
But I know there’s no confusion
I feel all my defences start to falling
Every time that tropic moon comes a-calling
That tropic moon made me fall in love tonight

Kalena (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1903)

The years have come and gone, Kalena
Gray whales have returned to the bay
The island sun is sinking low, Kalena
And I’m thinking of those by gone days
My heart yearns just as warm as then
When the island days were paradise
And the sun can never cast aside its light
To dim the love that was in your eyes
No, the sun can never cast aside its light
To dim the love that was in your eyes

The years have come and gone, Kalena
Since we both strolled here by the sea
Hand in hand, our hearts beat fast, Kalena
This island sand set our hearts so free
The years have flown since that June
When we were drawn so many times
To watch the dying sun and the rising moon
And listen to those sweet Maui chimes
To watch the dying sun and the rising moon
And listen to those sweet Maui chimes

We were so in love back then, Kalena
More than island songs of love can tell
And what dreams could have been, Kalena
Here where island love was meant to dwell
But there’s no use in bringing up the past
There’s no use to weep and mourn
I’ll say to those days that did not last
Time and island love are things forlorn
I’ll say to those days that did not last
Time and island love are things forlorn

Those dreams of long ago, Kalena
Oh, were crushed into defeat
They were things that couldn’t last, Kalena
They only lived for our hears to cheat
And I would never wish you sorrow
Bittersweet were parting words of long ago
And I would never wish you sorrow
Bittersweet were parting words of long ago

Oh yes, that parting kiss of yours, Kalena
Is in my mind, heart, soul and mem’ry still
It’s a memory of true island love, Kalena
That will ever with my empty dreams be filled
It was not your pure heart, my love, that spoke
For your love was always there in need
A chore demanding and harsh, it was, that broke
My tie to the shore and between you and me

I guess it really doesn’t matter now, Kalena
What’s past is past like the sun that’s gone
Our dreams are lost in the island past, Kalena
Soon we, too, will toward the ground be drawn
But maybe in the new world prepared by God
Dreams will be fulfilled and will not depart
Like the islands, eternal life will give the nod
To dreams that will bring love heart to heart

That Old Lahaina Town (Larry W. Jones 08/16/2003) (song#1904)

When I hear those Maui chimes
Can’t help but think of dreamy island times
Let me invite you, it will excite you
Over in that old Lahaina town

Sweetheart, pack your bags for shop, shopping
And we’ll go island hop, hopping
I’ll buy you a diamond wedding ring
Over in that old Lahaina town

Sweetheart, tuberoses are in full bloom
So, let’s go smell their sweet perfume
Right this minute won’t be too soon
To fly over to that old Lahaina town

When you and I are joined hand in hand
Those Maui chimes will lead a guitar band
So, let’s go find a wedding gown
Over in that old Lahaina town

Birds of paradise are singing
And here’s the message that they’re bringing
Sweetheart, love me, love me long
Life with you will be a lovely song
It’s a fact of life that we belong
Over in that old Lahaina town

Shadows Came To Stay (Larry W. Jones 08/17/2003) (song#1905)

Whenever you were near,
You brought sunshine to the isle
When you strolled away dear,
Shadows came to stay awhile

It was so wondrous being together
Before you strayed
Then the sunshine of island weather
Seemed to fade

Gray shadows followed all that laughter
And seemed to stay
Whether the weather be gloomy or bright
There’s no tropic light since you strolled away

If we should make amends, dear
That would be a happy island day
Please come again and be near
And chase these shadows away

It was so wondrous being together
Before you strayed
Gray shadows followed all that laughter
And seemed to stay

If we should make amends, dear
That would be a happy island day
Please come again and be near
And chase these shadows away

Bora Bora Nights (Larry W. Jones 08/17/2003) (song#1906)

When twilight descends on Bora Bora
In those French polynesian isles
That dreamy moon will shine right on time
On that dreamy girl who makes me smile

Clouds of gold adorn Mt. Otemanu
Anchored in the southern sea
And Tiare, my polynesian flower too
Is waiting there for me

Bora Bora nights with love are burning
When that southern moon is in the sky
It’s no wonder why my heart is yearning
For Tiare, island maid so sweet and shy

Romantic Bora Bora, with its tropic moon
Golden hours spent where palm trees sway
It always ends too soon, those island tunes
For me and Tiare, down Bora Bora way

When twilight descends on Bora Bora
In these French polynesian isles
We are now no more alone in this tropic zone
For I married my Tiare with her dreamy smile

Clouds of gold adorn Mt. Otemanu
As the sun sinks slowly out of sight
And twilight brings the magic too
Of the southern moon beyond the harbor lights

It’s at that magic hour that love is like a shower
Filling me with delights
For Tiare is my lover, I will love her ever
Here in these Bora Bora nights

Aloha Sweetheart Time (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1907)

Hawaii in June, love is in tune
Man in the moon knows what we’re thinking of
Tradewinds are breezy, love flows so easy
When twilight casts light from above

Smell the perfume of tuberoses in bloom
Guitars are playing those sweet Maui chimes
Songbirds are singing, words of love bringing
They all know it’s Aloha sweetheart time

Now it’s just me and you, dreams coming true
Man in the moon picked us out from the crowd
Old man in the moon, I guess he just knew
That true love was what we had vowed

Tradewinds whisper a sigh while nightbirds fly
Your heart is beating closely with mine
Now, it’s sheer bliss to steal one more dear kiss
They all do when it’s Aloha sweetheart time

It’s Aloha sweetheart time
Don’t need money for Aloha sweetheart time
So now, honey, on this island in the stream
You and I will plan the sweetest of dreams

Right here on this Hawaiian island shore
Forget the grind, take it slow on island time
So we can find the time for loving more
In Hawaii, in Aloha sweetheart time

My Little Cottage (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1908)

Well, I’ve climbed that corporate ladder
But I would rather be back in old Hawaii
Just a little cottage, but that doesn’t matter
It still beats all the rest
And that’s what makes it the best place for me

Just a little cottage, kinda run down
But it’s my paradise there in old Lahaina town
The roof is made of grass, not too much class
But my little cottage by the shore means more
Than this new high rise could ever mean to me

A palace in Dallas might be fit for a king
But the place is too callus to hear songbirds sing
I’ll return to my Maui, isle in the stream
And dream in my little cottage, kinda run down
It’s my paradise there in old Lahaina town

Just a little cottage, kinda run down
But it’s my paradise there in old Lahaina town
The roof is made of grass, not too much class
But my little cottage by the shore means more
Than this new high rise could ever mean to me

A palace in Dallas might be fit for a king
But the place is too callus to hear songbirds sing
I’ll return to my Maui, isle in the stream
And dream in my little cottage, kinda run down
It’s my paradise there in old Lahaina town

This Tropic Zone (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1909)

Since I moved to this tropic zone
The days don’t seem to be as rough
I’m glad I found this tropic zone
Your love for me is quite enough

You turned dark clouds into day
And now I know why songbirds sing
We strolled down by the bay
And knew that love had taken wing

Two hearts have found a new time zone
My heart is no more all alone

This tropic zone
Strolling in the soft moonlight
This tropic zone
This time I know we’ll get it right
This tropic zone
Our island love is warm and bright in
This tropic zone

We’ll share our love here every day
And make all our dreams come true
True love forever is the only way
When islands call for me and you

Two hearts have found a new time zone
My heart is no more all alone

This tropic zone
Strolling in the soft moonlight
This tropic zone
This time I know we’ll get it right
This tropic zone
Our island love is warm and bright in
This tropic zone

You turned dark clouds into day
And now I know why songbirds sing
We strolled down by the bay
And knew that love had taken wing

Two hearts have found a new time zone
My heart is no more all alone

This tropic zone
Strolling in the soft moonlight
This tropic zone
This time I know we’ll get it right
This tropic zone
Our island love is warm and bright in
This tropic zone

The Only Girl For Me (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1910)

Well, I’ve seen girls who were quite Ok
Strolling in the island breeze
From the tropic zones of Mandalay
While sailing ships on seven seas

I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
For you’re the only girl for me

My island girl lives in Maui
In the blue pacific ocean
When I left, she bid Aloha ‘oe
And her love is my devotion still

I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
For you’re the only girl for me

Her hair is long and shining
She has those polynesian eyes
It’s for her my heart is pining
Back home in her Maui paradise

I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
For you’re the only girl for me

I’m sailin’ back to her island clime
With this gold and silver wedding ring
Can’t wait to hear those Maui chimes
Sweet Leilani will be my Maui queen

I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
I’m sailin’ home, sweet Leilani
For you’re the only girl for me

Funny Thing (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1911)

Well, I tried to buy you things
Rings of gold fit for a queen
The island had its charm
And songs to sing

But the sun forgot to rise
The moon turned blue in paradise
The tropic wind turned cold
Funny thing

Look closeup, island queen
Love has left the scene
Dreams have been deceivers
And not what they seemed

I once dreamed of you as
A love so true indeed
Now I know that dream has
Made my poor heart bleed

Oh, I wish that I could
Turn back the clock, and then
I would find me a heart of wood
And carve your name again

Look closeup, island queen
Love has left the scene
Dreams have been deceivers
And not what they seemed

Look closeup, island queen
I’m still caught in between
Dreams and a broken heart
Funny Thing
Cause you’re still my island queen

Along The Shore (Larry W. Jones 08/21/2003) (song#1912)

Along the shore
Let’s stroll the sand together, hand in hand
Our love can last forever if we weather
The storms along with fair weather, hand in hand
Along the shore

Along the shore
Love these tropic nights underneath the moon above
Hear the tradewinds whisper words of love
No wonder why I only learn to love you more
Along the shore

Warm Hawaiian nights along the shore
The balmy breeze brings such delights
Our love has taken flight
Along the shore
Along the shore

If we ever went away
I know we would miss these island nights
The moonlit beach and stars so bright
So, what do you say, let’s forever stray
Along the shore

Along the shore
Love these tropic nights underneath the moon above
Hear the tradewinds whisper words of love
And there’s nothing sweeter, no, than this
Than a long and dreamy kiss
Along the shore

And there’s nothing sweeter, no, than this
Than a long and dreamy kiss
Along the shore
A long and dreamy kiss
Along the shore

Footprints In The Sand (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1913)

Sunbeams coming down
Warm island days should never end
Dreams crashed against the reef
But your love brought relief again

Oh babe, where the tradewinds blow
We will stroll together
Oh babe, don’t you know
Love was meant to be forever

Footprints in the sand, side by side
Island girl, island man, steady as the tide
And you shelter this heart in me
Your love is all I need
Footprints in the sand, footprints in the sand

Storm winds coming down
Something strange is in the air
I look around
And I don’t see you standing there

Oh babe, where the tradewinds blow
We will stroll together
Oh babe, don’t you know
Love was meant to be forever

Oh babe, listen to the sea
Can you hear the islands calling
Oh babe, listen now to me
Can’t you hear my heart now stalling

Footprints in the sand, side by side
Island girl, island man, steady as the tide
And you shelter this heart in me
Your love is all I need
Footprints in the sand, footprints in the sand

Oh babe, where the tradewinds blow
We will stroll together
Oh babe, don’t you know
Love was meant to be forever

Footprints in the sand, footprints in the sand

Over In Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1914)

Kauai, Maui, anywhere there’s wowee
Tahiti, sweetie, islands with entreaty
Montego, alter ego, anywhere tradewinds blow
Hawaii

In the deep blue seas
There’s a place for you and me
North just twenty degrees
Hawaii

Strolling in the sand
Drinkin’ blue Hawaiian to a guitar band
Love is in the air
I’ll buy a flower for your hair
Over in Hawaii

Kauai, Maui, anywhere there’s wowee
Tahiti, sweetie, islands with entreaty
Montego, alter ego, anywhere tradewinds blow
Hawaii

Oh, let’s paddle over to Hawaii
We’ll take our time
And then we’ll listen to Maui chimes
That’s where we need to be
Over in Hawaii

Or Bora Bora, where life is slower
Just twenty degrees lower

In the deep blue sea
The slower pace will simply agree
With simple things like love, you see
Where there’s no negativity

Full moon delight
Rum and Coke will be just right
To make you dreamy in paradise
I can see it now in your eyes
Over in Hawaii

Kauai, Maui, anywhere there’s wowee
Tahiti, sweetie, islands with entreaty
Montego, alter ego, anywhere tradewinds blow
Hawaii

That’s where we need to be
Over in Hawaii

Kalea Dream (Larry W. Jones 07/22/2003) (song#1915)

Kalea, Kalea
Where tradewinds blow, again I go
In my canoe, for a dive or two
For Kalea

Yes, today I’ve gotta go
Diving by the reef
You never know, the tidal flow
Might bring your soul to grief

But I’ve gotta dive today
From my canoe out in the bay
Get some pearls to make a lei
For Kalea, Kalea

The shelf runs deep and
There’s not a lot of light
But I know Kalea
Will smile in sweet delight
As my lei of pearls I place
Around this girl with angel’s grace
Around Kalea

But this time, it’s deeper that I go
Suddenly, I’m caught in the tidal flow

If they find my outrigger canoe
Maybe they will find me too
At the bottom of the bay
Holding the pearls for the lei
For Kalea

Then I awake and find her gone
And realize I’m still alone
Just memories of old times past
Of island love that did not last
My dream was not what it seemed
For Kalea

Kalea, Kalea
Where tradewinds blow, again I go
To sleep, and in dreams, to weep
For Kalea, Kalea

Sweet Hawaiian Girl (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1916)

I touched your fingertips, kissed your honey lips
Fingertips, honey lips, hula hips
I don’t need a script to read that you’re mine

We strolled down by the bay
Watched the dolphins play
And we didn’t waste the time
Your fingertips, honey lips, hula hips
All told me that you’re mine

Sweet Hawaiian girl, island for a home
My head is in a whirl, don’t wanna ever roam

My heart you stole away
Rose of Honolulu bay
Fingertips, honey lips, hula hips
I don’t need a script to read that you’re mine

Sweet Hawaiian girl, island for a home
My head is in a whirl, don’t wanna ever roam

I touched your fingertips, kissed your honey lips
Watched your hula hips sway so divine
Your fingertips, honey lips, hula hips
All told me that you’re mine
Yeah, they told me that you’re mine

All The Time (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1917)

All the time is all I want you, dear, with me
All the time at every sunrise
And setting of the sun
You are all I need to be here by the sea
All the time is just enough
To know love has begun

Warm as the islands, wild as the ocean
Feelings deep inside have awakened with emotion
A dream or two came along
But never did come true
All the time I just needed you
I just needed you

Island time is just the time
To make a dream come true
And all the time I spent my time
Was wasted time til I found you

Warm as the islands, wild as the ocean
Feelings deep inside have awakened with emotion
A dream or two came along
But never did come true
All the time I just needed you
I just needed you

All the time I just needed you
I just needed you

My Island Flame (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1918)

You made me smile when you said Aloha
My island flame
Sweet Leilani’s the name
My island flame
And island love’s to blame

You won my heart right from the start
My island flame
Sweet Leilani’s the name
My island flame
And island love’s to blame

Well, Aloha, hello, I love you so
My island flame
Sweet Leilani’s the name
My island flame
And island love’s to blame

You made me smile when you said Aloha
My island flame
Sweet Leilani’s the name
My island flame
And island love’s to blame

Well, Aloha, hello, I love you so
My island flame
Sweet Leilani’s the name
My island flame
And island love’s to blame

The Whispering Breeze (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1919)

The whispering breeze
Came from paradise
The whispering breeze
Came with a sigh

The message that was in the air
Was that you no longer care

The whispering breeze
Knows why I cry
The whispering breeze and I
Know you came to say goodbye

Your love and mine seemed so divine
As faithful as the rising moon
But now the moon doesn’t seem to shine
And the breeze plays a mournful tune

The message that was in the air
Was that you no longer care

The whispering breeze
Knows why I cry
The whispering breeze and I
Know you came to say goodbye

Your love and mine seemed so divine
As faithful as the rising moon
But now the moon doesn’t seem to shine
And the breeze plays a mournful tune

The whispering breeze
Please tell me why

Tiki Torch Bride (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1920)

Gonna keep that tiki torch burnin’ bright
I’ll be returnin’ to the cottage late tonight
Cause there’s a yellow tropic moon above
And it’ll be shinin’ down on the girl I love

Burn that tiki torch down by the bay
Burn that tiki torch to light our way
Keep that cottage door open wide
Cause I’ll be strolling in with my island bride

While that tiki torch is burnin’ high
We’ll be married here in paradise
We’ll be strollin home real slow
Lookin’ for that tiki torch glow

So, after we hear those Maui chimes
We’ll be strollin’ on island time
Back to the cottage for winin’, dinin’
And lovin’ with the tiki torch shinin’, shinin’

While that tiki torch is burnin’ high
We’ll be married here in paradise
We’ll be strollin home real slow
Lookin’ for that tiki torch glow

So, after we hear those Maui chimes
We’ll be strollin’ on island time
Back to the cottage for winin’, dinin’
And lovin’ with the tiki torch shinin’, shinin’
Lovin’ with the tiki torch shinin’

Island Angel You (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1921)

Island angel, island angel
You’re so divine
Each time you’re near
I hear Maui chimes
My dreams have come true
Dreams of island angel, you

Island angel, island angel
There by the shore
My love is forever
For it’s you I adore
My dreams have come true
Dreams of island angel, you

I could tell when the tradewinds blew
There would be no more lonely, lonliness
I could tell that you knew it too
By the way I held
Your hand, hand in mine

Oh yes, island angel
Island angel so divine
Each time you’re near
I hear Maui chimes
My dreams have come true
Dreams of island angel, you

I could tell when the tradewinds blew
There would be no more lonely, lonliness
I could tell that you knew it too
By the way I held
Your hand, hand in mine

Oh yes, island angel
Island angel so divine
Each time you’re near
I hear Maui chimes
My dreams have come true
Dreams of island angel, you

Dreams of island angel, you

A Dream About Me (Larry W. Jones 08/22/2003) (song#1922)

Sailed out of Frisco where the tradewinds blow
Sailed as far as Honolulu bay
Stole aboard a steamer that was goin’ slow
Ran out of dough in Mandalay
But I saw a lot of sights that I’m thinkin’ of
And I’m thinkin’ a lot about love

I strolled along a shore in the island sand
And saw an island girl with her island man
So, I started to dream a dream about me
Since it seemed my scene was so lonely
And everybody had an island love but me

I went to a cafe just to sit awhile
But the love songs and the music didn’t make me smile
So, I started to dream a dream about me
Since it seemed my scene was so lonely
And everybody had an island love but me

I’m free as the breeze and happy to be
Sailin’ where I please on the deep blue sea

But once in a while I drop my anchor at an isle
And I start to dream a dream about me
I see a scene of island paradise
But it’s just a dream of polynesian eyes

Will I ever see the dream I’m dreaming of
That dream of me and an island love
That dream of me and an island love
That dream of me and an island love

Play Ukulele Man (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1923)

Aloha, ukulele man
Playin’ in island sand
Play, ukulele man
An island mele for me

We’ll make a dance floor in the sand
With our bare feet
While you’re strummin’ that ukulele
To an island beat
Play, ukulele man, an island mele for me

Aloha, ukulele man
Playin’ an island tune
Play, ukulele man
With the rising of the moon

Make that ukulele ring
While island love is king
Just play anything
That makes the islands sing
Play, ukulele man, an island mele for me

Aloha, ukulele man
Playin’ on the island shore
Play, ukulele man
An island mele once more

With the stars so bright
And the moon tonight
Your ukulele strings
Will sound so right
Play, ukulele man, an island mele for me

Play, ukulele man, an island mele for me

My Old Empty Heart (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1924)

You found my empty heart
And filled its every part
With laughter and with fun
With island love and the tropic sun

My old empty heart
Where thoughts dwelled there all alone
Is now full of works of art
Of love for you and an island song

Oh, my empty heart was sad
And my empty dreams were just as bad
The chambers were just places inside
Where my empty thoughts could go to hide

But you strolled along my way
Down by that peaceful bay
Now emptiness has no place to play
Since you came along

You found my empty heart
And filled its every part
With laughter and with fun
With island love and the tropic sun

My old empty heart
Where thoughts dwelled there all alone
Is now full of works of art
Of love for you and an island song

A Tropical Kinda Thing (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1925)

Island love is a tropical kinda thing
Like the tuberose that always grows
Where songbirds sing

Island love is the tropics way
Of making your heart go zing
Playing music in your heart
Like guitar strings

Once on a warm and sandy shore
Under moonlight charm, arm in arm
Lovers strolled galore

Then your lips and your hula hips
Made my heart take wing
Yes, island love is a tropical
A tropical kinda thing

Once on a warm and sandy shore
Under moonlight charm, arm in arm
Lovers strolled galore

Then your lips and your hula hips
Made my heart take wing
Yes, island love is a tropical
A tropical kinda thing

My Island Lassie (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1926)

Drums in the islands are drummin’
Tradewinds in the sails are a-hummin’
Dreams are coming true and my heart is succumbing
My island lassie is a-comin’ home to me

Her sweet love to me she’s bringin’
Soon, the islands will be singin’
For my island lassie and me

Somewhere a ship sails the blue
An ocean of emotion is comin’ through
That deep blue sea is bringin’
My island lassie back home to me

That’s why drums in the islands are drummin’
While tradewinds in the sails are a-hummin
Cause my island lassie is coming home to me

Those mainland lads must be sad she’s parted
Too bad, but I’m glad it’s them who’s brokenhearted
She’ll be sailin’ past the reef
While they’ll be dyin’ from their grief

I’ll welcome her with a maile lei
Can’t wait to hear her say
Aloha, I missed you every day

We’ll stroll along the shore
Just like we did before last summer
I could never ask for one thing more
The island drums already have a drummer

Drums in the islands are drummin’
Songs in my heart are a-hummin’
My island lassie is a-comin’ home to me

Island And The Ocean (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1927)

Sometimes I find my mind on the island and the ocean
Hoping in my heart to see the object of my devotion
A prayer that she cares, I offer on the island and the ocean
And it cries, ku’u lei mau loa aloha nui loa

I search the tropic skies from the sandy island shore
I feel you in my arms for just a moment more
Then I feel the tears falling on the island like an ocean
And it cries, ku’u lei mau loa aloha nui loa

But as long as there’s an island, long as there’s an ocean
As long as there are dreams, I will wait patiently
Hoping in my heart to see the object of my devotion
Let the island and the ocean bring my love to me

I search the tropic skies from the sandy island shore
I feel you in my arms for just a moment more
Then I feel the tears falling on the island like an ocean
And it cries, ku’u lei mau loa aloha nui loa

I feel the tears falling on the island like an ocean
And it cries, ku’u lei mau loa aloha nui loa

On An Island (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1928)

Island melodies become tropic symphonies
When you’re on an island with the one you love
Moonlit tropic nights can glow with sweet delights
When you’re on an island with the one you love

A new fragrant tuberose, by the hour seems to grow
When island love is in bloom
You can stroll hand in hand in the island sand
And a seaside cottage is a castle with little rooms

Little worries just don’t matter, you’re even gladder
To reach the stars and listen to sweet Maui chimes
Romance is on the rungs of the ladder you climb
When you’re on an island with the one you love

A new fragrant tuberose, by the hour seems to grow
When island love is in bloom
You can stroll hand in hand in the island sand
And a seaside cottage is a castle with little rooms

Little worries just don’t matter, you’re even gladder
To reach the stars and listen to sweet Maui chimes
Romance is on the rungs of the ladder you climb
When you’re on an island with the one you love

Dream Girl (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1929)

Well, didn’t I meet you in a dream somewhere
I think it was you who strolled by my side
I’m sure it was you with the flower in your hair
And when we stopped, your arms opened wide

All the chances for love that I had missed
Are now the romances I see in your eyes
Your lips are the ones I dreamed that I kissed
What a surprise to meet you here in paradise

That tropical dream was an island love scheme
That tropical dream was one so divine
It was sentimental and you were supreme
It was your dream and it surely was mine

I wished on a star in the heavens above
For someone like you to appear from the blue
Now you are here, the girl that I love
Well, I guess dreams really do come true

All the chances for love that I had missed
Are now the romances I see in your eyes
Your lips are the ones I dreamed that I kissed
What a surprise to meet you here in paradise

I wished on a star in the heavens above
For someone like you to appear from the blue
Now you are here, the girl that I love
Well, I guess dreams really do come true

Manoa Valley Refrain (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1930)

When you climb the Ko’olau maountains
And the clouds hide the sea
Suddenly there appears Manoa valley
And you know how peaceful life can be

When the storm clouds hide the rainbow
And you think problems will never end
Suddenly there appears Manoa valley
And you know you can find a friend

Manoa valley in every season
Sings with sweet island refrain
Filled with love and reason
And rainbows kissed by gentle rains

When you need a bright tomorrow
You can always try the islands again
Manoa valley will ease your sorrow
Everyday, it’s where rainbows begin

Sweet Rose Of Maui (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1931)

There’s an island rose in Maui by the peaceful sea
She’s my wahini, mister, she belongs to me
No one has ever left her without a broken heart
Cause she’s the island rose, Maui’s work of art

She’s a Hawaiian tuberose bud, fresh as the island dew
Her eyes are polynesian through and through
I will walk beside my Maui rose on the island endlessly
For my sweet rose of Maui is my island wahini

Where the tradewind breeze is flowin’, and the moon is a delight
We stroll along the shore watching stars that shine so bright
I remember when love started, it was not so long ago
When I returned from seas uncharted, never more to go

She’s a Hawaiian tuberose bud, fresh as the island dew
Her eyes are polynesian through and through
I will walk beside my Maui rose on the island endlessly
For my sweet rose of Maui is my island wahini

I’m so glad I found her, here where soft breezes blow
We’ll sing island songs together where the pace of life is slow
We’ll play the ukulele, right here on Maui’s peaceful shore
Cause my sweet Maui rose is my wahini forevermore

She’s a Hawaiian tuberose bud, fresh as the island dew
Her eyes are polynesian through and through
I will walk beside my Maui rose on the island endlessly
For my sweet rose of Maui is my island wahini

October Waikiki Waltz (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1932)

Tradewinds and blue skies are everywhere
I remember the flower I placed in your hair
My dreams are still of your love so rare
When they played the Waikiki waltz

The harvest moon of October is again on the rise
The tradewinds can’t dry the mist from my eyes
You were my only love here in this paradise
When they played the Waikiki waltz

Return to me, please return to me
Here on the shore is where I will be
The harvest moon of October is rising again
And the steel guitar band is just walking in

No one to hold this season, I’m all alone
Must be some reason that’s still unknown
If she doesn’t stroll in, I’ll stroll on back home
When they play the Waikiki waltz

No one to hold this season, I’m all alone
Must be some reason that’s still unknown
If she doesn’t stroll in, I’ll stroll on back home
When they play the Waikiki waltz

Just A Band Of Gold (Larry W. Jones 08/23/2003) (song#1933)

Well, I’ve never sought for wealth or fame
Such things are not my game
Just a band of gold is what I’m thinking of
To prove that you’re my island love

Don’t need the moon to have and hold
And the stars are much too old
All I need is just a band of gold
To prove that you’re my island love

Some sail away to Mandalay and some distant shore
But all I need is here today, your consistent love implore

The love they find may one day grow cold
But I swear by the heavens above
That all I need is just a band of gold
To prove that you’re my island love

Well, I’ve never sought for wealth or fame
Such things are not my game
Just a band of gold is what I’m thinking of
To prove that you’re my island love
To prove that you’re my island love

Stopover In Hawaii (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1934)

It was just another tropic zone
I strolled alone on the beach again
Then you appeared, a flower in your hair
Like the sun warming the balmy air

Soft, soft was the tradewind
Warm, warm were your charms
And right there, on that sea shore
I found true love in your arms

A stopover in Hawaii, an island scene
It must have been your polynesian eyes
That’s when I knew dreams do come true
For I found a love in paradise

The sun came down on Honolulu town
And up went the pulse of my heart
I knew when that sun was going down
A stopover in paradise was just the start

A stopover in Hawaii, an island scene
It must have been your polynesian eyes
That’s when I knew dreams do come true
For I found a love in paradise

Sign Of Island Love (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1935)

A bird of paradise awakens
And flys through the island morn
To tell the world at daybreak
That a new day has been born
And the shorebird and the dove
Take wing for island love

Two seeds are just arising
A new day to be apprising
A lonely tuberose, then two
Where island flowers never grew
Under the tropic sun above
Another sign of island love

Yes, I believe in island love
And dreams that really do come true
Yes, I believe in island love
And I believe in me and you

Footprints crossed in sand this morning
Two strolled hand in hand this afternoon
Now two lonely hearts this morning
Are two sweethearts neath the tropic moon
Now, one life we’re dreaming of
Another sign of island love

Yes, I believe in island love
And dreams that really do come true
Yes, I believe in island love
And I believe in me and you

Island Harbor Lights (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1936)

Harbor lights, those magic island harbor lights
Are now just lights for ships of fools
Now blue dreams, my true dreams have taken flight
Cause you’re gone and love has turned cool

Island harbor lights remind me of your eyes
They sparkle just the same while telling lies
But as you strolled away, I prayed, it’s true
That island harbor lights guide me back to you

Harbor lights, those magic island harbor lights
Are now just lights for ships of fools
Now blue dreams, my true dreams have taken flight
Cause you’re gone and love has turned cool

Island harbor lights remind me of your eyes
They sparkle just the same while telling lies
But as you strolled away, I prayed, it’s true
That island harbor lights guide me back to you

Those island harbor lights
Are just lights for ships of fools

Island Blues (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1937)

Here on the island I’m singin’ the blues
Cause since you left, I’ve nothin’ to lose
You were here, then you strolled away
And now I’m cryin’ all night and day
There’s no dreams left for me to choose
Here on the island I’m singin’ the blues

The flower lei I gave was fresh and fine
But you just tossed it in the brine
You took my heart and broke it too
Now I’m cry-y-y-ing over you
There’s no dreams left for me to choose
Here on the island I’m singin’ the blues

Yeah, here on the island I’m singin’ the blues
Cause since you left, I’ve nothin’ to lose
You were here, then you strolled away
And now I’m cryin’ all night and day
There’s no dreams left for me to choose
Here on the island I’m singin’ the blues

Well, the flower lei I gave was fresh and fine
But you just tossed it in the brine
You took my heart and broke it too
Now I’m cry-y-y-ing over you
There’s no dreams left for me to choose
Here on the island I’m singin’ the blues

Ends Of The Oceans (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1938)

To the ends of the oceans
I’ll follow my wayfinding star
With all of love’s emotions
I long to be where you are

With one island behind me
And another up ahead
Your love I will find
If I have to climb Diamond Head

Even if the song has died
The melody lingers on
And a million Aloha ‘oe’s
Can’t stop a brand new dawn

To the ends of the oceans
I’ll follow my wayfinding star
With all of love’s emotions
I long to be where you are

So, I’ll follow my heart, love
To all the islands in the sea
With all of love’s emotions
Til the oceans give your love to me

To the ends of the oceans
I’ll follow my wayfinding star
With all of love’s emotions
I long to be where you are

So, I’ll follow my heart, love
To all the islands in the sea
With all of love’s emotions
Til the oceans give your love to me

Dreams Of Blue And Gold (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1939)

Well, my blue dreams are coming true again
I see a silver line behind the cloud
Yes, my blue dreams are coming true again
They turned to gold when your love you vowed

Well, my blue dreams are coming true again
The silver moon is shining on the bay
Yes, my blue dreams are coming true again
They turned to gold when you strolled my way

I remember how our love was at the start
Then it seemed that love had turned cold
Now the tide is turning back your heart
Back into my arms with dreams of gold

This is the day my dreams will live again
Never more will I let my dreams turn cold
All my vows I’ll pay just as when
When my blue dreams were all of gold

Well, my blue dreams are coming true again
The silver moon is shining on the bay
Yes, my blue dreams are coming true again
They turned to gold when you strolled my way

This is the day my dreams will live again
Never more will I let my dreams turn cold
All my vows I’ll pay just as when
When my blue dreams were all of gold

So Much Of You (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1940)

I hear the sound of island music
From some far away island in the blue
It sounds like your special island music
And it reminds me so much of you

On the tradewinds I smell tuberoses
From some far away island in the blue
They were your favorite island roses
And it reminds me so much of you

Maybe if I didn’t hear the island music
Maybe if I couldn’t smell the tuberoses
Then maybe the tradewinds wouldn’t remind me
So much of you

Maybe some day I’ll forget you
Maybe the tradewinds will cease then too
Just as maybe my heart will stop beating
So much for you

Maybe if I didn’t hear the island music
Maybe if I couldn’t smell the tuberoses
Then maybe the tradewinds wouldn’t remind me
So much of you

Maybe some day I’ll forget you
Maybe the tradewinds will cease then too
Just as maybe my heart will stop beating
So much for you

Halo Moon (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1941)

Halo moon, your beams are on the silver sea
Please bring to me the one I’m thinking of
Halo moon, bring my loved one back to me
Bring back to me the one who used to share my love

Island dreams are made for love and lovers’ schemes
But when the dreams drift away, you can hear one lover say

Halo moon, your beams are on the silver sea
Please bring to me the one I’m thinking of
Halo moon, bring my loved one back to me
Bring back to me the one who used to share my love

Island dreams are made for love and lovers’ schemes
But when the dreams drift away, you can hear one lover say

Halo moon, your beams are on the silver sea
Please bring to me the one I’m thinking of
Halo moon, bring my loved one back to me
Bring back to me the one who used to share my love

Deep Velvet Dreams (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1942)

As the deep velvet night descends upon the isle
And the stars appear in skies of paradise
It seems that in a dream you come strolling by
Whispering my name from on high

There on the shore just as before
I get a vision of your charms
And I find my heart still wants you more
As when I held you in my arms

As the deep velvet night descends upon the isle
And the stars appear in skies of paradise
It seems that in a dream you come strolling by
Whispering my name from on high

Then the dream drifts away
For it isn’t what it seems
But as long as time itself will last
The hope within my heart never will get past
This night of my deep velvet dreams

As the deep velvet night descends upon the isle
And the stars appear in skies of paradise
It seems that in a dream you come strolling by
Whispering my name from on high

Then the dream drifts away
For it isn’t what it seems
But as long as time itself will last
The hope within my heart never will get past
This night of my deep velvet dreams
This night of my deep velvet dreams

Full Moon Bright Stars (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1943)

Full moon
Tonight the island has a full moon
How could we know that love would come so soon
Along with this song of island love

Bright stars
Tonight the light includes the bright stars
Now we know that island love like ours has no bars
It must have been sent from above

Sometimes I think I must be dreaming
But I know it’s not love’s empty scheming
How else could I ever feel this thrill
Hope I’m not doing too much talking
But with your hand in mine when we’re walking
I have to tell my happy heart
Happy heart, please be still

Oh, full moon, bright stars
Tonight the island has a full moon and bright stars
Oh, love, island love
Tonight I’ve found my island love

Sometimes I think I must be dreaming
But I know it’s not love’s empty scheming
How else could I ever feel this thrill
Hope I’m not doing too much talking
But with your hand in mine when we’re walking
I have to tell my happy heart
Happy heart, please be still

Oh, full moon, bright stars
Tonight the island has a full moon and bright stars
Oh, love, island love
Tonight I’ve found my island love

Van Diemen’s Land (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1944)

Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ south so fast
Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ for southern sand
I don’t know what ship he’s on
Sailin’ south unto Van Diemen’s Land

He don’t know what he’s headin’ for
Down in that south sea convict colony
Moonlight poachers the law does not ignore
Now he’s bound for that Tasmanian sea

Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ south so fast
Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ for southern sand
I don’t know what ship he’s on
Sailin’ south unto Van Diemen’s Land

He rambled free without a care
The law to him was no command
Now he’s sailin’ fast through the salty air
Sailin’ south unto Van Diemen’s Land

When he dies, it won’t be in paradise
That convict colony will make him weep
In Tasmanian seas he’ll close his eyes
In Van Diemen’s Land is where he’ll sleep

Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ south so fast
Clipper ship, clipper ship, sailin’ for southern sand
I don’t know what ship he’s on
Sailin’ south unto Van Diemen’s Land
But I know it’s the last ship he’s on
Sailin’ south unto Van Diemen’s Land

Girl With The Polynesian Eyes (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1945)

I’m in love with the girl with the polynesian,
In love with the girl with the polynesian eyes

I saw a girl on the island dancin’ under tropic skies
Never saw a girl so nice
As the girl with the polynesian eyes
I was playin’ my guitar, singin’ a song about paradise
And there in the sand I asked the hand
Of the girl with the polynesian eyes

Oh, hula girl, dance and sway
Dance and flash those polynesian eyes
Oh, hula girl, dancing by the bay
Steal my heart today in paradise

I fell in love and so I took a chance
With the travellin’ band I cut my ties
Now my life is one of sweet romance
I married that girl with the polynesian eyes

I’m in love with the girl with the polynesian,
In love with the girl with the polynesian eyes

Oh, hula girl, dance and sway
Dance and flash those polynesian eyes
Oh, hula girl, dancing by the bay
Steal my heart today in paradise

I saw a girl on the island dancin’ under tropic skies
Never saw a girl so nice
As the girl with the polynesian eyes
Girl with the polynesian eyes
Girl with the polynesian eyes

Since You Left Me All Alone (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1946)

Since you left me all alone
The tropic sun, the moon and bird of paradise
Wonder if it’s right to hear my cries
But there’s nothing left here at home
Since you left me all alone

Since you left me all alone
My heart, my mind, my very soul has died
Now there’s only a lonely lullaby
Paradise, it seems, has left and gone
Since you left me all alone

Oh, what did I do that caused this waste
What happened to the love we tasted
Nothing on the island fits just right
What’s right is right but love has left
Since you left me all alone

Oh, what did I do that caused this waste
What happened to the love we tasted

Since you left me all alone
My heart, my mind, my very soul has died
Now there’s only a lonely lullaby
Paradise, it seems, has left and gone
Since you left me all alone

Tuamotu Island Chain (Larry W. Jones 08/24/2003) (song#1947)

Gonna find me an island
In the Tuamotu island chain
Far away from the mainland
Cause my heart is in pain

Gonna find me a love there
To make my dreams come true
Cause I’m all through tryin’
To keep pleasin’ you

Long ago our love was fresh as dew
Until along came somebody new
Seems my love was no longer needed
Even though for your heart I pleaded
So, I’m headed for skies of blue
Somewhere where love is true
Gettin’ over you

Gonna find me an island
In the Tuamotu island chain
Far away from the mainland
Cause my heart is in pain

Gonna find me a love there
To make my dreams come true
Cause I’m all through tryin’
To keep pleasin’ you

Let Me Hold You (Larry W. Jones 08/25/2003) (song#1948)

If I hold you closely, will you love me
Could I hold you once again right now
When I hold you close against my heart, I know you feel it too
Darling, could I hold you once again right now

Your love is all I hold that’s worth keeping
You hold the key to all my dreams somehow
Nights are cold and I miss you greatly
When I can’t hold you close to me
So, darling let me hold you right now

My dreams would all turn blue and confused too
If I should lose your love to hold somehow
You opened up the gate and chased away the blues
So, darling let me hold you right now

If I hold you closely, will you love me
Could I hold you once again right now
When I hold you close against my heart, I know you feel it too
Darling, could I hold you once again right now

Your love is all I hold that’s worth keeping
You hold the key to all my dreams somehow
Nights are cold and I miss you greatly
When I can’t hold you close to me
So, darling let me hold you right now

Teasin’ Hula Habit (Larry W. Jones 08/25/2003) (song#1949)

You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Dancin’ by the bay
You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Romancin’ night ‘n day
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

Well, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
Here by the Hana bay
Yeah, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
But there you go again today
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Dancin’ by the bay
You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Romancin’ night ‘n day
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

Well, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
Here by the Hana bay
Yeah, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
But there you go again today
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

Well, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
Here by the Hana bay
Yeah, you said your teasin’ hula days were past
But there you go again today
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Dancin’ by the bay
You ain’t nothin’ but a hula girl
Romancin’ night ‘n day
Well, I don’t like your teasin’ hula habit
I ain’t givin’ you no flower lei

Oh Warm Island (Larry W. Jones 08/25/2003) (song#250)

Here on my island in the sea
My people sailed here confidently
From far places roamed
They sailed across deep blue seas
From windward and from lee
To this my island home

Oh, warm island in the sea
My father handed down this land
All my life, as island man with island wife
We will care for and love endlessly
This island sand

The tropic sun rises from the sea
To warm blue skies of paradise
The beauty that surrounds me here to see
Brings tears of love to my eyes

I see children happy at their play
Outrigger canoes fishing in the bay
Now and forever, for all time
This warm island will be called mine

Oh, warm island in the sea
My father handed down this land
All my life, as island man with island wife
We will care for and love endlessly
This island sand

Maui Rose Maui Rose (Larry W. Jones 08/25/2003) (song#1951)

Maui rose, Maui rose, I’m so in love with you
Sing to me, bring to me your sweetest wine
Your heart and mine are in perfect harmony
My love is yours and yours will always be mine

As the days dissipate into years of time
Tradewinds will sigh as the mem’ries fall
All the dreams that we had, all will still be glad
As our love answers to the island’s call

Maui rose, Maui rose, I’m so in love with you
Sing to me, bring to me your sweetest wine
Your heart and mine are in perfect harmony
My love is yours and yours will always be mine

Hand in hand as we stroll the sand underneath the moon
Close your eyes and see our tomorrow here
Picture me loving you in a cottage built for two
Where roses grow on Maui throughout the year

Maui rose, Maui rose, I’m so in love with you
Sing to me, bring to me your sweetest wine
Your heart and mine are in perfect harmony
My love is yours and yours will always be mine

Lahaina Trip (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1952)

Down by the bay where the dolphins play
And the music plays gaily at the island hop
The sailing ship made its weekly trip
And when it got to Lahaina the anchor dropped

And I’m glad I stayed here by the bay
The tropic sun shines here every day
Her skin is brown, making heads turn around
I met a lovely island girl in Lahaina town

With a pretty flower in her hair
My lovely hula girl dances smooth and slow
This girl so fair is beyond compare
Where breezes blow and tuberoses grow

At the local cafe, ringing clear,
Maui chimes from the isle
And at the luau, hinano beer
Is very good with poi island style
Makes you want to smile from ear to ear

Down by the bay where the dolphins play
And the music plays gaily at the island hop
The sailing ship made its weekly trip
And when it got to Lahaina the anchor dropped

And I’m glad I stayed here by the bay
The tropic sun shines here every day
Her skin is brown, making heads turn around
I met a lovely island girl in Lahaina town
I met a lovely island girl in Lahaina town

I’m Strolling (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1953)

I’m strolling, yes indeed
And I’m wishing
That you were strolling here with me
Baby, please come back to me

I’m lonely, don’t you see
And I’m wishing
That I could have your company
Baby, please come back to me

Why’d you stroll away when you knew I’d cry
Can’t control the tears flowing like the tide
You didn’t have to run away and hide
Baby, please come back to me

I’m strolling, yes indeed
And I’m wishing
That you were strolling here with me
Baby, please come back to me

I’m lonely, don’t you see
And I’m wishing
That I could have your company
Baby, please come back to me

I’m lonely, don’t you see
And I’m wishing
That I could have your company
Baby, please come back to me

Just Like To Say (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1954)

I would just like to say
That I love you
But it’s not for me to say
That you love me too
Oh, but here by the bay
I can feel you sway
With my arms around you
And I can dream that love will stay here too

Here by the peaceful sea
It’s paradise
And I can see that you agree
For it’s in your eyes
The sun is setting low
And soon the moon will glow
To light the way here by the bay for me and you
And I can dream that love will stay here too

Here by the peaceful sea
It’s paradise
And I can see that you agree
For it’s in your eyes
The sun is setting low
And soon the moon will glow
To light the way here by the bay for me and you
And I can dream that love will stay here too

A March Moonlight (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1955)

All I want is for you to just give me
A March moonlight
A tiki torch light
And you

And all I need here in my arms
Is a love that warms
And all the charms
Of you

Just let my waiting arms now hold you
Here beneath the stars above
Let my elated heart enfold you
And you and I can fall in love

All I need for all my dreams to come true
Is a kiss or two
Just one won’t do
From you

So, all I want is for you to just give me
A March moonlight
A tiki torch light
And you

Another Luau Show (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1956)

Another island, another luau show
Somewhere in Hawai where breezes blow
Another chance to sing Aloha and say hello
Another island, another luau show

Another gig, maybe this one will be big
Will you ever make it, you never know
Watch them dig the pit for the kalua pig
Another island, another luau show

You practice and practice on your guitar
The day before, it sounded just fine
Will slack key music ever make you a star
Now it’s time to play those Maui chimes

Now, at last, the luau is about to start
Strum your guitar like the strings of your heart
The crowd goes wild as the music flows
Another island, another luau show

Another gig, maybe this one will be big
Will you ever make it, you never know
Watch them dig the pit for the kalua pig
Another island, another luau show

You practice and practice on your guitar
The day before, it sounded just fine
Will slack key music ever make you a star
Now it’s time to play those Maui chimes

Now, at last, the luau is about to start
Strum your guitar like the strings of your heart
The crowd goes wild as the music flows
Another island, another luau show

Warm Island Sand (Larry W. Jones 08/29/2003) (song#1957)

Your dreams are bigger than both of your eyes
You head for the mainland in search of paradise
But some day you’ll return, after you learn
That your garden of eden was where islands lie

See the bird of paradise as it gracefully flies
Just stand in warm island sand
And you will understand paradise
You don’t need castles in Spain to go down mem’ry lane
Just stand in warm island sand
And you will understand paradise

Oh, you can do your very best
See the world from the east to the west
But in time, you will hear islands call
Those Maui chimes are sounding for all
For all to return to paradise

You will find that tomorrow
Your heart will remind you with sorrow
That dreams don’t have to be grand
Just stand in warm island sand

See the bird of paradise as it gracefully flies
Just stand in warm island sand
And you will understand paradise
You don’t need castles in Spain to go down mem’ry lane
Just stand in warm island sand
And you will understand paradise

Oh, you can do your very best
See the world from the east to the west
But in time, you will hear islands call
Those Maui chimes are sounding for all
For all to return to paradise

You will find that tomorrow
Your heart will remind you with sorrow
That dreams don’t have to be grand
Just stand in warm island sand
Just stand in warm island sand

Hula Moola (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1958)

Well, if you’ll do the hula, honey
I’ll play sweet Maui chimes
We’ll go island hoppin’, baby
When it’s luau time

You get the hula moola, honey
I’ll play the chimes
And here’s what we’ll do
We don’t need a regatta sonata
Just my outrigger canoe
We’ll be funnin’, sunnin’ a lotta
Just me and you

Just bring along your flower lei and
Romance me when the full moon shines
Well, if you’ll do the hula, honey
I’ll play sweet Maui chimes

We’ll go island hoppin’, baby
When it’s luau time

You get the hula moola, honey
I’ll play the chimes
And here’s what we’ll do
We don’t need a regatta sonata
Just my outrigger canoe
We’ll be funnin’, sunnin’ a lotta
Just me and you

Just bring along your flower lei and
Romance me when the full moon shines
Well, if you’ll do the hula, honey
I’ll play sweet Maui chimes

Hard To Tell Apart (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1959)

Just because you said Aloha ‘oe which means goodbye
Don’t be deceived that I might sit around and cry
My heart conceived that I must now tell myself a lie
And believe that someday these eyes of mine will dry

Just because true love and dreams are hard to tell apart
It seems that you think you must have broken my heart
But before I leave this shore to find a new destiny
I’ll take my dreams and store them in this heart of me

Just because true love and dreams are hard to tell apart
It seems that you think you must have broken my heart

Just because I thought this island was paradise
Doesn’t mean that all my dreams were mere disguise
I know there’s love to be found somewhere around
I’ll just have to say Aloha ‘oe to old Lahaina town

Just because true love and dreams are hard to tell apart
It seems that you think you must have broken my heart

Just because I thought this island was paradise
Doesn’t mean that all my dreams were mere disguise
I know there’s love to be found somewhere around
I’ll just have to say Aloha ‘oe to old Lahaina town

Love Will Fill Our Dreams (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1960)

Strolling in the sand
Holding hands there by the sea
I whispered I love you and
You said that you loved me

The setting sun had already gone
In the moonlight we lingered on
My vows I swore eternally
And you said that you loved me

We’ll have to go and tell your mother
I might even tell your father and your brother
A wedding isn’t far away
We’ll just have to set the day
And let love turn another page

From Hawaii to Kauai and Ni’ihau
And the other islands in between
We’ll let our little secret out somehow
And true love will fill our dreams

We’ll have to go and tell your mother
I might even tell your father and your brother
A wedding isn’t far away
We’ll just have to set the day
And let love turn another page

From Hawaii to Kauai and Ni’ihau
And the other islands in between
We’ll let our little secret out somehow
And true love will fill our dreams

Bluer Than The Blue Danube (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1961)

Well, I might just become a rover
Or a sailor for the rest of my years
All my dreams are just about over
Since my heart filled up with my tears

Paradise went from blue to gray now
A hundred percent went down the tube
You didn’t really love me anyhow
And I’m bluer than the blue Danube

Well, I might just become a rover
Or a sailor for the rest of my years
All my dreams are just about over
Since my heart filled up with my tears

If you ask me why my eyes are cryin’
It’s because your heart is a cold ice cube
Since you strolled away, true love is dyin’
And I’m bluer than the blue Danube

Paradise went from blue to gray now
A hundred percent went down the tube
You didn’t really love me anyhow
And I’m bluer than the blue Danube

Bluer than the blue Danube
Bluer than the blue Danube
Bluer than the blue Danube

I Like Your Island Way (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1962)

I like your hula sway
I like your island way
Take me by the hand
Let me be your island man

I want a dream come true
I want a girl like you
Tell me you love me too
And then I’ll know

Where the tradewinds blow
I want to be your beau
I like your hula sway
I like your island way
Where the tradewinds blow
I want to be your beau
I like your hula sway
I like your island way

I want a girl like you
Tell me you love me too
And then I’ll know

Where the tradewinds blow
I want to be your beau
I like your hula sway
I like your island way
Where the tradewinds blow
I want to be your beau
I like your hula sway
I like your island way

Lips Divine (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1963)

I felt your lips so fine, nothing to refine
Lips divine, love’s attire
Moonlight shines on my desire
Lips divine, warm as island fire
Lips divine make me want to make you mine

Where tradewinds play, found you by the bay
Lips divine, by the sea
Love has come so temptingly
Lips divine, love comes naturally
Lips divine make me want to make you mine

My sweet Bora Bora miss, I’ve now found a home
What a treat, that first kiss, from your side I’ll never roam

You stole my heart away with your Bora Bora sway
Lips divine, love’s attire
Moonlight shines on my desire
Lips divine, warm as island fire
Lips divine make me want to make you mine

My sweet Bora Bora miss, I’ve now found a home
What a treat, that first kiss, from your side I’ll never roam

I felt your lips so fine, nothing to refine
Lips divine, love’s attire
Moonlight shines on my desire
Lips divine, warm as island fire
Lips divine make me want to make you mine

Beam Homeward Starlight (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1964)

Beam homeward, starlight
To my island in the sea
Please tell me, if you might
Does anybody there remember me

Beam homeward, starlight
To my love who’s waiting there
Please tell me, if you might
Does she still wear a flower in her hair

And just to let her know that I still care
Beam homeward all my love to my love waiting there

Beam homeward, starlight
To my love where breezes blow
Please tell me, if you might
Does she still dream of me with heart aglow

And just to let her know that I still care
Beam homeward all my love to my love waiting there

Beam homeward, starlight
To my love where breezes blow
Please tell me, if you might
Does she still dream of me with heart aglow

And if so
Then guide me homeward, starlight
For to my island I must go
Beam homeward, starlight, for I love her so

Island Kind Of Thing (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1965)

Your kind of love and mine will linger
Kind of like the islands in eternal spring

Love isn’t just the vows we make tonight
Or just the charms of arms that hold each other tight
Love is like a song with such a lovely ring
True love is an island kind of thing

Love isn’t just some wild chance to take
Or some childish romance that puppy lovers make
Love is like a flower that ends up towering
True love is an island kind of thing

A wedding on the beach
Hawaiian wedding song
Through the years our love will teach
The right things from the wrong
And in our golden years
Smiles will outnumber any tears
True love is an island kind of thing

So, please wear this special flower lei for me
So I can remember endlessly
That true love isn’t just a dream
True love is an island kind of thing

True love is an island kind of thing
True love is an island kind of thing
True love is an island kind of thing

Whole Life Loving You (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1966)

My whole life I will spend
Loving you right til the end
With a love that’s oh, so true
And I’ll spend my whole life loving you

No matter what the season
Winter, summer, rhyme or reason
Our love will always be cohesion
And I’ll spend my whole life loving you

If I have to roam away from home
If I have to travel far and wide
I’ll have your love so I won’t be alone
And I’ll sail back on the flooding tide

You’ll never see me with someone new
For I would never ever make you blue
My love is ever faithful, ever true
And I’ll spend my whole life loving you

My love for you and yours for me
Is the way true love should always be
Higher than the mountains
Deeper than the sea of blue
Yes, I’ll spend my whole life loving you
I’ll spend my whole life loving you

Mele Ke Aloha (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1967)

Mele Ke Aloha, take this mele to ku’u ipo
Fly, fly li’ili’i manu, go and find ku’u ipo
Mele Ke Aloha, sing at her cottage window
Fly, fly li’ili’i manu, sing ku’u mele Ke Aloha la

Yes, let her know that I will wait, I will wait
Let her know how much I care, how much I care
For when she’s not by my side, my heart cries
So, fly to her this day and tell her not to stay away
This mele Ke Aloha will bring her back to paradise

Mele Ke Aloha, take this mele to ku’u ipo
Fly, fly li’ili’i manu, go and find ku’u ipo
Mele Ke Aloha, sing at her cottage window
Fly, fly li’ili’i manu, sing ku’u mele Ke Aloha la

Yes, let her know my heart does yearn for her return
Let her know I miss her so, I miss her so
For when she’s not by my side, my heart cries
So, fly to her this day and tell her not to stay away
This mele Ke Aloha will bring her back to paradise

Mele Ke Aloha, sing at her cottage window
Fly, fly li’ili’i manu, sing ku’u mele Ke Aloha la
Ha`ina mai ka puana la
Let the refrain be told
Of my mele Ke Aloha, my song of love
And my li’ili’i manu, my little bird of love

My Heart Is Still In Love (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1968)

I hear soft island music
But somehow, it now makes me blue
I hear soft island music
And the melody reminds me of you

I see garlands of island roses
But somehow, they bring me to tears
I see garlands of island roses
And the flowers remind me of you, dear

Even if there was no soft island music
Even if there were no garlands of island roses
No moonlit strolls on the beach as we used to do
I would still be reminded of you
For my heart is still in love with you too

I hear soft island music
But somehow, it now makes me blue
I see garlands of island roses
But somehow, they bring me to tears

Even if there was no soft island music
Even if there were no garlands of island roses
No moonlit strolls on the beach as we used to do
I would still be reminded of you
For my heart is still in love with you too
My heart is still in love with you too

Moonbeam (Larry W. Jones 08/30/2003) (song#1969)

I’m spending these moments on some starlight
Starlight, to place upon your hair
And after these moments in the starlight
I’ll find you a moonbeam that we can share

When we go strolling hand in hand on the island
We count the minutes as the time goes slowly by
Maybe someday we’ll add up all these lovely hours
And remember our early love in paradise

We both can feel the magic of moments like this
As hand in hand we share this time of bliss
Your eyes have a glow when I hold you so
And tell you how much I love you

I’m spending these moments on some starlight
Starlight, to place upon your hair
And after these moments in the starlight
I’ll find you a moonbeam that we can share

And after these moments in the starlight
I’ll find you a moonbeam that we can share
I’ll find you a moonbeam that we can share

Sand Sand Sand (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1970)

Find an island with some sand, sand, sand
Stroll along to the music of an island band
An island will make you understand, stand, stand
That this is where you find the one you love

Love will be just as you planned, planned, planned
And the room in your hearts will expand
For island love that is grand, grand, grand
She’s your island girl and you’re her island man

There’s no doubt that you will see the moon above
It’s all about that little thing called love
And the tropic sun will make you tan, tan, tan
By then you’ll know what love demands

It’s time to find a wedding band, band, band
And say those vows that love will then command
Dreams do come true in this island, land, land
Both wife and man will find true island love

Find an island with some sand, sand, sand
Stroll along to the music of an island band
An island will make you understand, stand, stand
That this is where you find the one you love

It’s time to find a wedding band, band, band
And say those vows that love will then command
Dreams do come true in this island, land, land
Both wife and man will find true island love

Twilight Moon (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1971)

Where the soft warm tradewind breezes
Flow upon the island sands
There on the shore by deep blue seas
We strolled together hand in hand

Where the soft warm tradewind breezes
Flow upon the island sands
We watched the moon rise in the twilight
While we danced to island bands

So, back to that far and distant island
Some day soon I must return
To see the moon rise in the twilight
And find that girl for whom my heart does yearn

Where the soft warm tradewind breezes
Flow upon the island sands
There on the shore by deep blue seas
We strolled together hand in hand

We watched the moon rise in the twilight
While we danced to island bands
True island love grew there that night
As we strolled together in the sands

So, back to that far and distant island
Some day soon I must return
To see the moon rise in the twilight
And find that girl for whom my heart does yearn

Hula Lula Lo (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1972)

Oh, hula lula lo, my heart is beating so
From across the island sand
You came to claim my love where breezes blow
Beneath the coco palms, dawn was breaking
My soul, for you, was waking, oh

Oh, hula lula lo, far too long have I waited for you
After many lonely days, we’ll meet again
Beneath Hawaii’s skies of blue
Far too long have I been yearning, I’m now returning
To my true love, my hula lula lo, oh

Oh, hula lula lo, wait for me where breezes blow
I’m on my way, day by day I dream awhile
Of hula lula lo, and her tropic isle, oh
Across the deep blue sea, she’s waiting there for me
My true love, my hula lula lo

Oh, hula lula lo, my heart is beating so
From across the island sand
You came to claim my love where breezes blow
Beneath the coco palms, dawn was breaking
My soul, for you, was waking, oh

Across the deep blue sea, she’s waiting there for me
My true love, my hula lula lo
My hula lula lo, oh

Lonely Lover’s Melody (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1973)

Somewhere over there the bird of paradise is singing
He’s winging through the skies of blue above
He’s my messenger of island love
He knows that I’m yearning to be returning
To the only girl I’m dreaming of

The bird of paradise knows why I’m sad and blue
I wonder if he’s feeling just as lonesome too
Maybe that’s why he’s winging
And why he’s singing
The whole night through

Bird of paradise, as you are singing so tenderly
Oh, please tell her, bird of paradise
That your song is a lonely lover’s melody
And she’ll recognize the message that you’re bringing
So she will bring her love back home to me

The bird of paradise knows why I’m sad and blue
I wonder if he’s feeling just as lonesome too
Maybe that’s why he’s winging
And why he’s singing
The whole night through

Bird of paradise, as you are singing so tenderly
Oh, please tell her, bird of paradise
That your song is a lonely lover’s melody
And she’ll recognize the message that you’re bringing
So she will bring her love back home to me

The Dream Came True (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1974)

I need you by me rain or shine
Sunset and rising on island time
You’re the true one love I’m living for
Since our love began here on this shore

Warm as the month of June
As moving as the sea
Feelings soft as the tropic moon
In the heart of me

I waited for the moment for a dream come true
And when I first looked at you
The dream came true

Warm as the month of June
As moving as the sea
Feelings soft as the tropic moon
In the heart of me

I waited for the moment for a dream come true
And when I first looked at you
The dream came true
The dream came true
The dream came true

Sweet Island Baby (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1975)

Who’s the one who’s making me dream
Sweet island baby
And who’s the one causing all my schemes
You, sweet island baby, you

Who’s the one I found strolling in the sand
Sweet island baby
And who’s the one that my heart demands
You, sweet island baby, you

Well, who is the girl causing all this bliss
The perfect island miss for me to kiss
And who is the girl who can make me linger
Just to wrap my heart around her little finger
Who’s the girl who made my dreams come true
You, sweet island baby, you

Who’s the one I found strolling in the sand
Sweet island baby
And who’s the one that my heart demands
You, sweet island baby, you

And who is the girl who can make me linger
Just to wrap my heart around her little finger
Who’s the girl who made my dreams come true
You, sweet island baby, you
Sweet island baby, you
Sweet island baby, you

Beautiful Leilani (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1976)

Beautiful Leilani, sweet as pineapple pie
Guys have to get a second look when she goes strolling by
Every time I see her, she’s the apple of my eye
Beautiful Leilani, girl from paradise

One day I hope to stroll around with you
Didn’t know that beautiful was beautiful as you

Beautiful Leilani, dressed in coolest island style
Swaying like the hula trees sway here on the isle
Deep polynesian eyes, looks that make you smile
One day I hope to marry this girl who’s so beguile

One day I hope to stroll around with you
Didn’t know that beautiful was beautiful as you

Beautiful Leilani, strollin’ in the sun
She strolled on by and didn’t even know my heart she’d won
Where tradewinds blow, there’s a girl who just can’t be outdone
She stole my heart away and til my dyin’ day
I’ll wonder if she broke it just for fun

Beautiful Leilani, sweet as pineapple pie
Guys have to get a second look when she goes strolling by
Every time I see her, she’s the apple of my eye
Beautiful Leilani, girl from paradise

Bora Bora Bay (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1977)

Bora Bora bay, Bora Bora bay

On the way to Bora Bora bay
There’s a beach on the way to Bora Bora bay
There’s a cottage by the beach and a girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay
A cottage by the beach and a girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay

Ring a ling a ly oh, ring a ling a lay
Gonna wanna buy oh, a black pearl lei

There’s a shop by Bora Bora bay
There’s a black pearl in the shop by Bora Bora bay
That’s where I’ll shop for a black pearl lei
For the girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay
I’ll shop for a black pearl lei
For the girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay

Ring a ling a ly oh, ring a ling a lay
Gonna wanna buy oh, a black pearl lei

When I get to Bora Bora bay
I’ll be in debt, but yet, I’ll stay in Bora Bora bay
That’s where I’ll marry that girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay
I’ll marry that girl in the cottage
By the beach on the way to Bora Bora bay

On the way to Bora Bora bay
On the way to Bora Bora bay
On the way to Bora Bora bay

Let Me Know (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1978)

Let me know if your arms get empty
Let me know if your dreams turn blue
Darling, please believe me
Let me know if you ever need me
And I’ll paddle my canoe to you

Let me know if your plans all stumble
Let me know if he says adieu
Darling, please believe me
Let me know if you ever need me
And I’ll paddle my canoe to you

Call me on the coconut wireless
I have an open line to you
Call me if you need a new address
I have one with an island view

Let me know if you need me near you
I’ll make all your dreams come true
Darling, please believe me
Let me know if you ever need me
And I’ll paddle my canoe to you

Let me know if you need me near you
I’ll make all your dreams come true
Darling, please believe me
Let me know if you ever need me
And I’ll paddle my canoe to you

Moana Was Her Name (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1979)

I met an island girl
Moana was her name
But then she went away
And I lost my island flame
Moana, girl by the sea, please come back to me

Now that she’s gone
It’s not the same tropic zone
I’m here all alone
Left to wonder where she roamed
Moana, girl by the sea, please come back to me

Sweetheart mine, now that you’re gone
Girl divine, I’m here all alone
All alone and wondering what to do-ou-ou

I met an island girl
Moana was her name
But then she went away
And I lost my island flame
Moana, girl by the sea, please come back to me

Moana, oh Moana
Please come back to me

I’m Gonna Kiss You (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1980)

Well, I’m gonna kiss you, in the mornin’ early
Down by the bay, oh yeah
Well, I’m gonna kiss you, down by the bay
Where the breezes play

Where the tradewinds blow
I’ll be happy when you’re my bride
My love will be like the flooding tide

Well, I’m gonna kiss you, in the mornin’ early
Down by the bay, oh yeah
Well, here in this tropic zone, I’m never at a loss
To let you know it’s you alone
And that island love’s the boss

Well, you stole my heart, right here in paradise
You and I will never part, I’ll never make you cry

Well, in the mornin’ early
And all through the tropic night
Oh yeah, well
In the mornin’ early
I’m gonna kiss you and hold you tight

Well, well
I’m gonna kiss you, hold you tight
Every day in the daytime, every moonlit night
Yeah, I’m gonna kiss you
In the early mornin’ down by the bay
Where the tradewinds blow

On This Enchanted Island (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1981)

We found a true love
On this enchanted island
On this enchanted island
Where warm sand kisses the foam

Here you and I stand
On this enchanted island
On this enchanted island
Where true love has found a home

If I took a notion to search every ocean
For beautiful places to see
My one emotion would be my devotion
To your beautiful face endlessly

We found a true love
On this enchanted island
On this enchanted island
From which we’ll never roam

If I took a notion to search every ocean
For beautiful places to see
My one emotion would be my devotion
To your beautiful face endlessly

We found a true love
On this enchanted island
On this enchanted island
From which we’ll never roam

One Day At A Time (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1982)

At the site of a pot of gold
There’s a rainbow’s end
The last chapter of the Bible ends with an Amen
Our love is like that treasure
Golden years to spend
And every chapter will be a good book without end

Where a river empties
The ocean begins its flow
Here on the island the tradewinds always blow
Where a winding highway ends
May take some time
Our love will be just as timeless one day at a time

Where a river empties
The ocean begins its flow
Here on the island the tradewinds always blow
Where a winding highway ends
May take some time
Our love will be just as timeless one day at a time

Where a winding highway ends
May take some time
Our love will be just as timeless one day at a time
One day at a time

I Really Like It (Larry W. Jones 08/31/2003) (song#1983)

Well, you don’t have to ask me if I’m happy here by the bay
My baby came back today
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

You don’t have to ask if we’ll get along
We both know we’ll find a way
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

This island life is one serene zone
Since my baby’s back at home
She lets me know I’m her island man
Hand in hand as we stroll along
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

You don’t have to ask if she’s my island miss
I give her love every day
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

You don’t have to ask if I’ll find another
You must know there’s no way
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

This island life is one serene zone
Since my baby’s back at home
She lets me know I’m her island man
Hand in hand as we stroll along
I really like it, yes, I really do like it this way

Not Just Make Believe (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1984)

We stroll the island everywhere
I place a flower in your hair
Your sweet love my heart relieves
And I know it’s not just make believe

Here in the tradewind air, we laugh without a care
The reason why my dreams come true
Is all because of you
Here where soft breezes blow
Our love will grow and grow
You answered all my prayers
When you said you cared
And I know it’s not just make believe

The reason why my dreams come true
Is because they’re your dreams too
You play on my heart strings, no wonder my heart sings
My heart I give you whole
My future you control
You answered all my prayers
When you said you cared
And I know it’s not just make believe

Here in the tradewind air, we laugh without a care
The reason why my dreams come true
Is all because of you
Here where soft breezes blow
Our love will grow and grow
You answered all my prayers
When you said you cared
And I know it’s not just make believe

What A Dream (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1985)

What a dream, what a dream
The things we planned, the island scene
Your love is soft as Maui chimes
Your lips are sweet as cherry wine

I know our love will last and last
We’ll stroll together as years go past
This dream of ours is not in vain
Forever in love we will maintain

I can picture you always with me
Like a tender island song
No wonder my heart is happy
Love like ours can’t go wrong

I’ll try my best to love you
Cause I’ll be blessed endlessly
I’m so glad that I met you
On this island in the sea

I know our love will last and last
We’ll stroll together as years go past
This dream of ours is not in vain
Forever in love we will maintain

I’ll try my best to love you
Cause I’ll be blessed endlessly
I’m so glad that I met you
On this island in the sea

Sandy Moonlight Serenade (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1986)

Just a sandy strand in old Lahaina town
Just an island tune that steel guitars play
A little island maid with long hair hanging down
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Just a little island song sung from your heart
That tells about a love that islands made
Just a little chance, a little romance may start
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Happy is the island boy strolling by the bay
When he sees her smile and Aloha say
Happy is the island boy when she wears his lei
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Just an island boy and girl tan and brown
Just a little kiss as another love is made
That’s the way it is in old Lahaina town
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Happy is the island boy strolling by the bay
When he sees her smile and Aloha say
Happy is the island boy when she wears his lei
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Just an island boy and girl tan and brown
Just a little kiss as another love is made
That’s the way it is in old Lahaina town
Just a little sandy moonlight serenade

Lonesome Lahaina Town (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1987)

I konw an island where lovers go
When their broken heart is feeling down
Sweet Maui chimes still ring, but oh
Tears are king in old lonesome Lahaina town

There you find dreams that have turned blue
Enough to last a million years
And the only price they ask of you
Is an ocean full of a million tears

Goin down to old lonesome Lahaina town
Cause my heart is broken still today
Goin down to old lonesome Lahaina town
Where dreams turn blue and stay

In old lonesome Lahaina town
The shore is lined with regret
Goin down to old lonesome Lahaina town
With broken dreams I can’t forget

I konw an island where lovers go
When their broken heart is feeling down
Sweet Maui chimes still ring, but oh
Tears are king in old lonesome Lahaina town
Tears are king in old lonesome Lahaina town

Strollin’ (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1988)

Come on, baby stroll with me
Stroll along the shore
Come on, baby stroll with me
Stroll along the shore
When we get to Waikiki
We’ll stroll some more

Tonight I feel so good
Strollin’ hand in hand
Tonight I feel so good
Strollin’ hand in hand
Don’t care where we’re goin’
Strollin’ in the sand

Well, the waves are rollin’
Rollin’ toward the sand
And me and my baby’s strollin’
Strollin’ hand in hand
Come on, baby stroll with me
In this island wonderland

Well, the waves are rollin’
Rollin’ toward the sand
And me and my baby’s strollin’
Strollin’ hand in hand
Come on, baby stroll with me
In this island wonderland

Wear My Flower Lei (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1989)

Please wear my flower lei there around your neck
So everyone will say our love is not in check
Here by the sea it’s just you and me
When you wear my flower lei
There around your neck

Please wear my flower lei there around your neck
So everyone will say our love is not in check
I want the world to know that I love you so
And we’ll let it show by my flower lei
There around your neck

Some people say that island love is just a fling
But they don’t know that ours is the real thing
One thing I know is that our love is true
And this flower lei is just a token
Of my lasting love for you

Please wear my flower lei there around your neck
So everyone will say our love is not in check
Here by the sea it’s just you and me
When you wear my flower lei
There around your neck

Sunday Manoa Morning (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1990)

Some Sunday Manoa morning
I’ll be strolling along with my island girlfriend
Some Sunday Manoa morning
We’ll spend down by the bay

Just me and my island girlfriend
We’ll stroll together on the isle
In Sunday Manoa morning smiles
And then we’ll sing a love song
And we will remember it long
Long after Sunday Manoa morning is gone

Some Sunday Manoa morning
Some Sunday Manoa morning

Some Sunday Manoa morning
I’ll be strolling along with my island girlfriend
Some Sunday Manoa morning
We will laugh as we stroll by the bay

Just me and my island girlfriend
Dressed in our cool island style
In Sunday Manoa morning smiles
And then we’ll sing a love song
And we will remember it long
Long after Sunday Manoa morning is gone

Some Sunday Manoa morning
Some Sunday Manoa morning

Swaying Hula Tree (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1991)

A bird of paradise was sweetly singing
The island seemed to fill with lovers tunes
Those Maui chimes at noon were ringing
Our world was brighter that the tropic moon

My eager arms were there to caress you
And you blushed when I gave the flower lei
I still remember the day when I first met you
And I only pray that we’ll meet again some day

Now I’ve arrived from the mainland snow and ice
My heart is broken as I remember vows we made
I have a fresh lei made of flowers, oh so nice
To leave and fade away upon your island grave

Someone please show me where she’s lying
I know it isn’t far from the peaceful sea
And someone said she told as she lay dying
To let her sleep beneath the swaying hula tree

In the shade of the swaying hula tree
Was where the love in your eyes I could see
And we heard so nice the bird of paradise
As it sang to us that lovers melody

There we listened to the distant roar of the sea
And picked the blossoms for the lei, you and me
With a love rare and true, these words I heard from you
I’ll be waiting in the shade of the swaying hula tree

My Sweet Island Rose (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1992)

I know a rose that grows in old Hawaii
She’s the cutest hula girl I know
She’s got those polynesian eyes from paradise
That makes me want to hold her so
Where the sandy island shore is winding
Round the foot of Diamond Head where breakers foam
There in a little island thatched roof cottage
Is where soon my feet and heart will roam

In my dreams I see the palm trees waving
And the dolphins playing in the bay
It’s for those things my heart is craving
And my rose that grosw in old Hawaii far away
Where the golden sand is warmed by sun that’s shining
And the fragrant island tuberoses grow
That’s where my lonely heart is always pining
For there grows in old Hawaii my sweet island rose

On the golden shores of old Hawaii
Where the bird of paradise flies gracefully
And the tropic breeze is swaying hula trees
Over there is where I so long to be
Over the golden sand I’ll soon be strolling
Where the fragrant island tuberoses grow
Back to the shores of old Hawaii
And to that cutest girl my sweet island rose

Over In Samoa (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1993)

Over in Samoa, they dance with just a feather boa
It’s a dance they do in island sand
There’s really nothing to it, until you see them do it
Then you’ll want to give those girls a hand
It’s a dance you never dreamed, might have to be screened
But it will put upon your face some smiles
When they do the Samoa show-a, with their boa
You’ll know why there’s romance in those Samoan isles

Over in Pago Pago, eat the mango, dance the tango
It’s just done a little different in a tropic zone
Cause when they’re dancin’, looks like romancin’
You’ll leave your heart there when you go back home
Their costumes are surely pleasing, merely teasing
You don’t have to wonder why they wear a smile
You think you’re in a dream there, must be the air
Over in Samoa dancing on that south sea isle

Over in Samoa, when they sing their songs
The kind of music you never heard before
Listen with your heart and before too long
You’ll be begging for them to play some more
And in Pago Pago, eat the mango, dance the tango
Then you’ll want to give those girls a hand
When they do the Samoa show-a, with their boa
You’ll know why there’s romance in those Samoan isles

Somewhere Behind Me (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1994)

My ship has sailed so far, so far away from home
And my heart is lonely, cause it thinks only of you
Today’s another windy day, sails are in the spray
Wish I were home back in my Hawaii blue
My home is in Hawaii, my home is in Hawaii
Somewhere behind me in the deep blue sea

Back home they’re having good times under tropic skies
I keep hearing Maui chimes but the wind is telling lies
It’s hard on a sailor man, so far away from island sand
Wish I were home back in my Hawaii blue
My home is in Hawaii, my home is in Hawaii
Somewhere behind me in the deep blue sea

Well, there’s so many islands, but only one I want to see
It’s my home in Hawaii
Somewhere behind me in the deep blue sea
Dreaming about the friends and family I know
While I’m sailing away from where soft breezes blow

Somewhere behind me in the deep blue sea

So Beautiful To Me (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1995)

Waikiki wahini, girl with polynesian eyes
Where’d you get those looks, from paradise
Waikiki wahini, did you come out of a dream
And are you real or just another island scene

Underneath a rainbow shining, above Waikiki
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me
Underneath a rainbow shining, above Waikiki
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me

Waikiki wahini, the way you do your hula sway
Me, myself and I agree when we say
Waikiki wahini, down Honolulu way
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me

Waikiki wahini, girl with polynesian eyes
Where’d you get those looks, from paradise
Waikiki wahini, did you come out of a dream
And are you real or just another island scene

Underneath a rainbow shining, above Waikiki
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me
Underneath a rainbow shining, above Waikiki
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me

Waikiki wahini, the way you do your hula sway
Me, myself and I agree when we say
Waikiki wahini, down Honolulu way
Waikiki wahini, you look so beautiful to me

Peaceful With Your Love (Larry W. Jones 09/01/2003) (song#1996)

Just as a bird when on the wing
Just as a song’s been made to sing
Just as a memory is made to think of
I find the island peaceful with your love

Just as forever has no ending
Just as the twelvth of never blending
Just as sure as the sun shines up above
I find the island peaceful with your love

Here beside you I found love
My island bride, my dream thereof
Just as I vowed, that’s what I’ll do
Cause I’m so in love with you
Just as the soft song of the dove
I find the island peaceful with your love

Just as a bird when on the wing
Just as a song’s been made to sing
Just as a memory is made to think of
I find the island peaceful with your love

Here beside you I found love
My island bride, my dream thereof
Just as I vowed, that’s what I’ll do
Cause I’m so in love with you
Just as the soft song of the dove
I find the island peaceful with your love

Hawaiian Hula Eyes (Larry W. Jones 09/02/2003) (song#1997)

Sometimes in the night
Sometimes when it’s light
I wonder if I might
Ever see you again, Hawaiian hula eyes
I remember those island years, but with tears
When you and I were young and love was so sincere

Do you know where I am, Hawaiian hula eyes
Do you know how I came to be so lost from paradise
It happened oh, so slow
I just drifted far and wide
But I have to let you know I miss you so
Hawaiian hula eyes

I want to climb the tallest mountains
Search by the peaceful streams
See if I can find what it was we lost
Somewhere in my dreams
But I have to let you know I miss you so
Hawaiian hula eyes

I want to climb the tallest mountains
Search by the peaceful streams
See if I can find what it was we lost
Somewhere in my dreams
But I have to let you know I miss you so
Hawaiian hula eyes

I miss you so, more than you’ll ever know
Hawaiian hula eyes
Hawaiian hula eyes
Hawaiian hula eyes

Native Island Son (Larry W. Jones 09/02/2003) (song#1998)

Well, I guess every native island son
When his days of roaming are all done
Has a yearning deep inside to return to paradise
I’m no different from the rest, it’s true
I’ve got that burning in my breast anew
I’m dreaming of returning to Hawaii blue

I can see that sun kissed shore
The same one when I was young I explored
And I can see those tall palm trees
The same ones that shaded you and me
I must return there soon, to smell that sweet perfume
Blowing in the tropic breeze of Hawaii

When twilight shadows fall, I hear the call of Hawaii
Your swaying palms reach out their arms for me

When I dream I seem to see the one that I love
I know she’s waiting there to welcome me
With her polynesian eyes, straight from paradise
She’s the one I’m always thinking of
Yes, this native island son must return to tropic sun
And to loving arms beneath the palms that’s calling me

When twilight shadows fall, I hear the call of Hawaii
Your swaying palms reach out their arms for me

When I dream I seem to see the one that I love
I know she’s waiting there to welcome me
With her polynesian eyes, straight from paradise
She’s the one I’m always thinking of
Yes, this native island son must return to tropic sun
And to loving arms beneath the palms that’s calling me

Golden Hawaiian Moonlight (Larry W. Jones 09/02/2003) (song#1999)

Golden Hawaiian moonlight
Shining upon a silver sea
There on that tropic island
Is where my heart so longs to be

Golden Hawaiian moonlight
Shine upon the one I adore
Beam your magical lovelight
To guide my heart there once more

As the twilight velvet sky is falling
In dreams I can hear her calling
Oh, golden Hawaiian moonlight
Guide me to your silver sea

You must know my heart is yearning
For only one it is still burning
Golden Hawaiian moonlight
Guide me to your silver sea

As the twilight velvet sky is falling
In dreams I can hear her calling
Oh, golden Hawaiian moonlight
Guide me to your silver sea

You must know my heart is yearning
For only one it is still burning
Golden Hawaiian moonlight
Guide me to your silver sea

Two Thousand (Larry W. Jones 09/02/2003) (song#2000)

Two thousand miles an hour, to get me to my love
Two thousand ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Two thousand songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun

If you ever ask me how long for you my love will be
Two thousand lifetimes, then we would wait and see
If I could do it over, not a thing would I ever change
I could sing you island songs of love that I’ve arranged

If you ever ask me how deep for you my love will be
I can only tell you that my love is deeper than the sea
Two thousand fathoms down lives cousin Davy Jones
Says I’ve got more songs to write about these tropic zones

Two thousand miles an hour, to get me to my love
Two thousand ways to tell you, it’s you I’m thinking of
Two thousand songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
Two thousand songs and counting, up to number one
You’re my island sweetheart, our love has just begun
